Hey there, and welcome to our roleplaying section. Please take some time to read two of these useful resources below, if you're already a roleplaying expert, then there's no need to read the following beginner's guide, but be sure to read the rules.
Has anyone played No Man's Sky yet? A friend got it and I spent a few hours watching him play. It's pretty sweet, but doing anything at all in that game is a lot of work. It got my mind turning over perhaps suggesting we try at a really lean science fiction roleplay?
I've got a handful of original SF settings that I've fleshed out pretty well, so if anyone was interested I could share and we could pick one, come up with a premise and tailor it as needed, build our characters quickly and develop them as we go along, and do everything we can to keep from getting hung up or stalled out. How does that idea sound to you all? Any interest?
It's in RP limbo, perhaps? I would be a bit surprised if it comes back to life - pleasantly surprised, of course, but I simply don't know if the laws of the nature will allow for everyone to be active and focused on the RP all at once. I just had a smack of inspiration and thought maybe we could make something happen with a smaller crew that's been seeing a bit of activity.
Edit: regardless of the matter of the RP, I wanna hear anyone's thoughts on No Man's Sky.
I'm planning on getting it in a couple weeks time. I'm all about the exploration aspect and I'm curious to see how the procedural generation works out. I shall report on my findings once purchased.
And I'm going to be on holiday for 2 weeks as of next Saturday but if you guys are planning an rp I am so up for it. I've had a really strong urge to write lately and feel very inspired. To the point where I'm currently crafting a D&d campaign that I'm forcing my mates to play on aforementioned holiday.
If we get at least one more taker for just starting up a quick one then we could take the planning to a private convo. It would be a pretty lightweight RP, so your holiday wouldn't be too big of an issue I don't think.
I sure wish I could run a tabletop RPG with my friends. I probably could if I was more persistent, but getting them all together and to submit to the process is just a lot of work :\
Yeah that's partly why this is having to stick to our holiday but I may look into using something like roll20 to get something going after. It just depends really
Heyyo, rearing my head here again at the mention of a potential RP. I'd be down for that.
But can we please try and stick to this one? I shudder from time to time thinking of all the time spent writing character cards for roleplays that died prematurely. I could've learned a language or two instead.
