Once you've passed level 50 and maxed out your often used skill I say new character. The game is far to big for only one character and playthrough

I think the small but subtle difference between the ranger and assassin is that the range uses the bow almost all the time. Then weapon of choice if they get desperate.
The assassin would use the bow for support but be aiming to get the 15x damage perk and use a dagger

Basically if you mix ingredients that share an effect you make a potion with that effect. You can use 2 or 3 ingredients and can make potions and poisons with multiple effects.

Pretty much the way I'm playing at the moment except I'm using a Breton.
I enjoy using the bows and dual wield swords if things get hairy. I've also gone for a bit of alchemy mainly for poison making. Makes those first shots hit harder.

You can still level smithing fairly fast, but as its now based on the cost if the item you smith daggers are not the best thing to make.
Most if the time the helmet made from any given material is the most cost effective on a material/cost ratio.

A couple of nights ago I played a couple of hours with my main character, then for a break created a new one and played her for about half hour or so.
It wasn't until the next day I realized I hadn't saved with the old guy so I had 2 hours of stuff to re do.

I always play in 1st, I tried 3rd but can't get on at all.
I found a few bits hard early in the game but keep at it. If your archery is pretty good I would say to use distance to your advantage as much as pos. Sneak to get a strong first couple of shots and Fus-Ro-Daaaaah before they're on top...
