Intros can be as long as you want guys. As for the story of why we meet in Whiterun, up to you guys. I think the easiest explanation would be that it was rumoured to be a stronghold, though that is no longer the case, as the deadra took it as well. Windhelm being overrun by bandits sounds like a cool idea guys! Survivors would of course be present, but I don't think they'd take too kindly to newcomers

Riften, not being too defendable... would probably have a lot of bodies... And the odd survivor.
Just a guess, up to whoever's there/The DM.

I would imagine Riften as Daryl described, with a lot of bodies and not too many survivors, but it's up to whoever is starting there to decide

True xD Just wanted to make sure for my draft, didn't want to have to go back and revise a big chunk.

So with that I take it we're avoiding the city? We could come up with a reason if need be however

We could still go to Windhelm, we just have to maybe pay a toll or something along those lines.
