Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

He wants to torture her because he thinks she's a spy. Now, why do you think he thinks she is a spy?

Rolff: "You come here where you're not wanted, you eat our food, you pollute our city with your stink and you refuse to help the Stormcloaks."
Suvaris: "But we haven't taken a side because it's not our fight."
Angrenor: "Hey, maybe the reason these gray-skins don't help in the war is because they're Imperial spies!"
Suvaris: "Imperial spies? You can't be serious!"
Rolff: "Maybe we'll pay you a visit tonight, little spy. We got ways of finding out what you really are."

Ofc you are going to take "gray-skins" and run with it in circles cos everything is racism to you. It's quite clear but please, entertain me more..

In your world it seems bowing down to your enemy and their demands is somehow justified cos oh my, the cost of defending yourself would be just way too high.. better to surrender and please our masters.. ugh, I dare not think what would the world look like today if the Allies had that mentality during WW2..

What is better for your enemy?

a) get the land for free (the treaty)
b) land is conquered
c) land is destroyed

The best thing for Hammerfell would be to repelled them w/o destroying the land of course. In any case this is no way a negative consequence compared to the other options. Hammerfell now stands as a strong independent state with people knowing they have the will to outlast and beat the Dominion. And so far are the only people in Tamriel to do so.

Honor before reason, a mentality that will get you killed. Forget the Allies , lets look at the Japanese. Honor before reason is the mentality they had. They refused to back down. They were ready to fight down to the last man, woman, and child. We told them what would happen if they didn't agree to our terms, but they refused anyways. And what happened? We dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima leveling an entire city and taking hundreds of thousands of lives. And they still wouldn't back down. We dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. Another couple hundred thousand lives.

There is such thing as the cost of defending your kingdom being high. Its called a Pyrrhic victory. The Emperor did the right thing. Rather than continue the war and rule over a ruined and wasted Empire, he decided to agree to the Thalmor's terms so he could rebuild his forces and prepare for another war. There is a reason this is called "The First War With The Elves" by the Thalmor. The EMperor knows the peacce won't last.

So is it because they don't help in the war? But I don't see Rolff helping in the war. He's just a drunken fool who sits on his ass all day threatening women and yelling racial slurs at elves. Why is he not accused of being a spy?

Not trying to start an argument...as this is more of an observation...but as far as I have noticed, the Legion is just that...Imperials, Redguards, and Nords (perhaps some Bretons in there also...not too sure)...Why the lack of Argonians, Khajiit, and Elven races? Is there a reason behind that or am I just not noticing them...?

Actually there are examples of Elves in high positions of power in the Legion. Legate Fasendil - an Altmer opposed to the Thalmor - of the Rift Imperial camp, comes immediately to mind. As does Legate Sevan, a Dunmer, at Winterhold.

Rolff is racist, but the Dark Elves INSIDE Windhelm have stirred the pot by declaring that they were staying out of the war. NOTE that I capitalized the word INSIDE, to show a difference between the ones in windhelm and the farmers going to Solitude to join the Legion.

According to Skyrim:Rolff Stone-Fist - UESPWiki his class is labeled with Warrior. Perhaps he was a stormcloak solider at one time, and had to retired due to injury? Maybe he got an arrow to the knee which then lead him to drink to get rid of the pain? who knows.

Obedience before will, a mentality that will make you a slave. Cos you know, getting killed is the worst that can happen to you... dear god, I hope most people don't think like this.. Oh, and again with these ridiculous examples, the states had a weapon that could decide the war, who is to say w/o it they could have won? Does the Dominion have a weapon like this? If no, please stop with this examples it's way too stupid..

Pyrrhic victory simply implies the next one would ultimately lead to defeat. But there are exceptions to this and I fail to see how losing part of the land is a Pyrrhic victory, if they had lost 2/3 maybe.

who would say Ulfric is rascist? he is just indifferent to other races if it ain't nord he dont care. plain and simple.

Indifferent? Seriously? Is there another version of Skyrim out there where the whole Civil War questline is different? Is it the KKK version of Skyrim?

Yet, they are the ones keeping them out. the same thing with Ulfric and the Segregation.
Yeah I would say the stormcloaks lost cause it seems most people realize the empire and Tulius are much more likeable so everyone chose the empire on thier main lol but seriously their is no real need for the rebelion cause the empire banned Talos but didnt enforce. Ulfric rebeled bring the Thalmor to take a more active role. Basically ulfric broke skyrim. Thanks man...

"...it is the Nords. They do not like outsiders in their land, and so we are forbidden to enter the cities. When they look upon us, they see only pickpockets and Skooma dealers". From one of the Khajiit caravans, it's not just the jarls, they have far more pressing matters than dealing with what are considered second rate citizens. Many Nords look upon them with disdain.

The Empire was in no shape to continue the war. Lets look at the Empire's losses that we know of.

The Empire lost two full leigons in the war. A third leigon was completly destroyed serving as a rearguard during the retreat from Imperial city. The remaining leigons had less than half their soldiers fit for duty. Imperial City sacked and looted. The White-Gold tower destroyed and looted. Several other Imperial cities sacked and thier citizens subjected to countless atrocities. Sommerset Isles on the other hand, completely untouched. The Emperor is no coward. He lead the battle to recapture Imperial city himself. But he was no fool either. He agreed to the treaty knowing full well the peace wouldn't last. he knew the peace wouldn't last and that it would be better to recover and then fight rather than continue to fight on top of thier current losses.

As said in one of the in-game books about the war.

"The terms were harsh, but Titus II believed that it was necessary to secure peace and give the Empire a chance to regain its strength."

"However, there is a great difference between agreeing to such terms under the mere threat of war, and agreeing to them at the end of a long and destructive war. No part of the Empire would have accepted these terms in 4E 171, dictated by the Thalmor at swords-point. Titus II would have faced civil war. By 4E 175, most of the Empire welcomed peace at almost any price."
