Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Or they could move somewhere else in the city so they don't have to go on a long and dangerous journy. How about this? If a Nord offered 5,000 Septims for a house, and a Dunmer offered 5,,000 Septims for a house, who would you sell to? If it's Nord every time, that's the real problem.

Logically, Nords were there first, likely more than what we see in game. Windhelm in-game is, like, 95-99% Nord. Skyrim itself is likely 90-99% Nord. Do the math.

As to the scenario, I would sell it to whoever offered it to me first, If Nord, then he gets it. If Dunmer, then he gets it.

Plus let's look at the land again. Most of the good places outside the city are quite far from the city proper. If the nords want protection from bandits in that case they would have to train guards themselves, as they would likely only get two-three at most, not because of race, but because of distance from the city, more than that would not be good for the Jarl.

The Dunmer live there. This is their city. And that's all they really want. Buy a house in the nicer districts, get a good business off the ground. Ulfric could just snap his fingers and give them that opportunity, but he won't.

Look at it this way, If one Dunmer gets a decent house, then they all have to get decent houses. There is just not enough room in-game, you think that going by lore standards means they magically have enough room for all people to get nice places? Some dunmer would then hat him still because they do not have nice places because all the good house were sold.

Plus, weren't they given the grey quarter when they first got to Windhelm? I'd say if the Jarl did not have the room for them then, why would Ulfric have room for them to live in the city proper now?

And even in the actual game there are two empty homes. The Arentino house and Hjerim.

You might want to read that letter inside the Arentino home. You may read it by going to Skyrim:Letter from the Steward - UESPWiki It clearly indicates that Aventus Aretino will still have his home once he returns to Windhelm from being at the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften. The house belongs to him.

As far as the other home goes... I'm not sure if the Dark elves can afford it.

You're still talking like giving the Dunmer equal rights will magically shrink the city. There'll be just as much room as there is now. If your problem's a Dunmer depriving a Nord of some mansion down the line...well, good luck with that.

Huh, I never knew that. Well either way the game world isn't a good representation of the city. Unless it is explicitly stated or hinted at that Windhelm is overcrowded somewhere in the lore you can't make that assumption.

It is not really that, but yeah, if there is no room in the city, how can you offer a decent house in that city, without throwing someone out of that house?

Uhmm.. The Arentino house has a little boy in it and Hjerm is a player home
to claiming that the laws of the United States are not the laws of Texas.
Thanks for conceding the point and abandoning your prior erroneous assertion (just sayin').
Contextually no it isn't. It's the only city in the province that segregates populations by race. That makes it the most intolerant capital city in the land.
1 Texas does have the same laws as the United states.

2 Windhelm doesn't let Kahjit or Redgaurds inside, Windhelm allows High elves to purchase property in the city so its not just pro nord.. And keep in mind today in france refugees are being mistreeted in similar ways.. Windhelm does not push this on anyother city making this beside the point.. If we allow these poor elves to be poor than we can worship anyone we want? seems like a fair trade to me. Also only an idiot would expect to enter an argument and win an argument while keeping all of his values

Uh, hey. There's actually a nice Redguard family living there. It's just those creepy warrior types who caused trouble. As for the Kahjiit? I've got nothing.

I actually agree with this somewhat. To win an argument, you usually need to make compromises.

Thanks for conceding my obvious point.

That's completely irrelevant to the fact that it's the only city that segregates certain races.
.. And keep in mind today in france refugees are being mistreeted in similar ways..
Even more irrelevant. France is not part of Skyrim.
..Also only an idiot would expect to enter an argument and win an argument while keeping all of his values...
This statement is idiotic. People enter arguments all the time and prevail while keeping their values and some arguments don't even require asserting one's values other than valuing reason and intelligence over irrational stupidity.

That maybe so, but it being wrong does not change the fact that that is how it is, and unless the lore in the next game states that Ulfric is killed, it is pointless to argue the issue, as that is how it will be. I do not see the Empire lasting to TES VI at this point, because of the lore you cling to.

Well, it's not completely hopeless. Is it? Bethesda wouldn't just get rid of the empire.

Then we would have to start the game with the empire Losing the war till we come in and defeat the Dominion after finding a weapon of the gods to kill lords of the Dominion with.

If the only place left for people are the slums, then likely that is what they get, unless they decided to riot unless they get better place, like land outside the city.
Implying that building a house is as easy and inexpensive as making a batch of pancakes.

Jeremius, pull your head out of your ass and talk some sense.
