just get the guide book prima put out a few months ago and so the quest took me like 30 mins or so, they list where the gems are so it's easyI did on my first character, but I got so sick of seeing that quest and having to search for them. Ever since my first character, now I just leave the gems where they are, it's not worth it in my opinion. Eventually I'd like to finish the mission, sure, but just not anytime soon, lol
You have much fortitude. The best I've managed to accomplish is only making potions that people would be likely to want. No more mixing stuff just to make a high value potion. And only taking ingredients I'm likely to use. And I STILL end up with stuff that just sits.So I made a new character who is supposed to be a broke Skooma addict and alcoholic, and at one point I made potions to help me get money to pay for my addiction. HOWEVER, at one point I had about 3000 gold, and thought "OH NO, I'm breaking the rules of my build!!!!" And blew it all on Skooma, moon sugar, and lockpick training. Now he is broke again... and I realized I can't make potions anymore, SO, I have to ignore all the ingredients I find. I never realized how hard it was to force yourself to ignore plants around you, or ingredients in containers! I was literally telling myself out loud, "Don't take it, don't take it" until I passed by
I'll send you some of mine. You could carpet all of Markath inside and out with the number I have (including the ruins).
I actually have trunks full of 'em. It's gotten to the point where I just take a bunch with me and recharge my weapons constantly to get rid of them. I even stopped carrying my soul-suck weapons or using the spell. Sheesh - down to about 2K now! Maybe I can start filling 'em again in about a month...
Oh yeah. It doesn't matter what I'm doing... Big tough killer suddenly stops what he's doing and picks flowers. Sheesh... I have enough ingredients to open an apothecary and enough potions to keep me in septims for the rest of my life. All I can say is thank goodness I invested in all those businesses and took the perk to sell anything to anybody. At least now there's only about 8 feet of potion bottles covering my interior! Naginata - your addict should come see me in Riften. I now have 1,273 bottles of scooma and over 2,000 moon sugars. I gotta stop buying the stuff and not using it. At least if I was using it I'd have an excuse. I'll give it to him/her for free and let my housecarl know that you can sleep in my basement when you need.

You're not much of an addict then! Me, it's sweet rolls! I have hundreds of 'em! Of course, somebody keeps taking them... but...So far, I haven't used ANY of the Skooma or moon sugar I bought, I like to just hoard it
