Alas, after months fell unto years, and years fell unto decades, and decades fell unto generations... we've finally made a breakthrough with our magic barrier to the 4th realm. This realm perhaps, is the only realm that is untouchable by the Daedra. This, we plan to make our realm. We rule, we craft our own world.

1E 277, 23rd Rain's Hand

We've been taking precise measures and precautions on setting up this gateway for our people, but as you could imagine... the Daedra are sending their strongest of champions to us. Without our machinery to slow them down... I couldn't imagine us making it any further into this...

1E 277, 5th Sun's Dusk

We are finally ready. Our Jarl, Dwarvoral, has entered first, and our towns and great city Mzinchaleft are following in his footsteps. I'll be last, for the closing of the gates will require the leaving of our Keening dagger, which may prove fatally dangerous to our new and glorious realm. This is due to Keening being the key element into entering our realm.

So what do you all think? Would it be worth the writing of a whole series of journals and books of the Dwarven past and disappearance?

Well. The Dwemer are greatly fascinating to me.
And I would love for someone, anyone, to invent a complete story about their disappearance.

So, yes. It'd be worth writing. I, for one, would certainly read it.
However, the Dwemer were elves. They wouldn't have had a Jarl, as a Jarl is a Nordic King.

So, perhaps do a little research and see if you can find what they called their leaders? If not, think of something that sounds... Dwemer-like.

I'm working on some research now. I've been gathering all the books on the Dwemer (Dwarves) and studying their cities.

as will, pls keep me updated on n e thing u write, and if u would like hlp w ur research i would have no problem watsoever in helping u. also i do think that it would b worth while to add the Falmer (snow-elves) in to the play also as they are very much incorperated into the scene. nvr kno, the falmer mite b the reason the dwarves disapeared, or it could go along the lines of wat u were starting w/ the dagger of keening

Well, from what I've read, Keening was one of the three tools created to control the magical object that is thought to be the reason the Dwemer disappeared. But the Falmer could possibly be a part of this journal's story, as they were certainly a large part of Dwarven life.

The keening was originally intended to be a tool that allowed the Dwemer to tap into the powers of the Heart of Lorkhan, or the dead god. This "tool" eventually got in the hands of the wrong people, and came into use as a dagger, which proved powerful considering it's extremely high magical properties.
