After Golden Glow

I finished Golden Glow and gave the info to Brynjolf to complete the quest. once the quest was complete and i was told to speak to Maven Black-Briar nothing happened. The quest did not become active and i don't have it in my log, and when i go to the bee and barb she isn't there. Also when i talk to her in the palace she has nothing to say to me to further the quest. Does anyone know how to fix this?

''If you do not speak to Maven Black-Briar shortly after being given the quest, the quest will bug out and you will not be able to continue with the Thieves' Guild quest line. This is an issue as of 11/17/2011. (A not so elegant but effective solution is to open the console and enter the command "setstage TG04 1". That will allow you to skip the bugged quest entirely (if it´s not showing up for you) and continue with the Thieves Guild line). (confirmed on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC (for PC only occurs if you click to make the dialogue skip untested on Xbox 360 and PS3)''

I looked in both places and she is not there.
I also went back to the point were i first got the golden glow quest and did it all over again, and when i turned in the quest to brynjolf I still did not get the quest to speak to Maven. I even looked for her again after the second completion and she still wasn't there.


is there another way to fix the issue without opening the console?
if not how would i enter the command?

This was fixed by patch 1.4

What wasn't fixed by patch 1.4 was a bug where if you broke into the Honningbrew Meadery before you were supposed receive this quest makes it unavailable.

I haven't read about any solutions for game consoles.
