I like using scimitars & blades swords just because its something that I can't create at a forge. You have to find/loot them & improve or enchant them yourself. As far as damage or weight goes they're steel swords & the stats are going to be comparable to your imperial sword, steel sword, etc

Oblivion is on Games on Demand for Xbox live, but I saw the GoTY edition at my local best buy in the $4.99-$9.99 bargain bin. I think on live its $19.99, I'm not 100% sure though. As far as Morrowind goes, I haven't a clue

Did you see someone wearing the robes ? If you did then you can pick pocket them off the person if you have the perks & level for pick pocket. If not, you could possibly just kill the NPC & loot their corpse. I know that's a little extreme, but if you want the robes bad enough that's always a choice

The storyline for it is decent, I like it for the crossbow & werewolf/vampire perks alone. If you've waited this long though, they'll probably have a sale on it when the dragonborn dlc drops. It was half price on steam when Hearthfire dropped
