Private A Brother's Revenge

Antonius looked around them at their surroundings. After the initial excitement of being in a hot spring wore off he realized they were very exposed. He grabbed his glass sword and set it near him. He wouldn't have his adventure end because he wasn't being cautious enough. He shut his eyes to relax but he thought he heard the sound of shouting and conversation. He was either being paranoid or people were coming. He wandered if anyone else was sharing his thoughts. Antonius directed his voice to everyone and ordered, "Everyone be quiet for a minute, I think I hear people coming!" He saw a group of Nords and Argonians arguing their way down the path. They were wearing various styles of heavy armour and were all equipped with swords or maces. They stopped their arguing when they spotted the group in and near the pools. One of them, probably the leader, said "See, I told you we would find some poor saps in there," The others in the group just grunted, but they all had wicked grins on their faces and drew their swords.

Marlo had noticed the sound of the group and waited. He turned and seen them coming, put on his helmet and threw the bow and the quiver on the ground where his allies were.He unsheated his sword and stood in a defensive stance, shield in front and sword over the shield, pointing it in front of him.
"Get your armors on, I'll try to hold them off.Any magic users are welcome to buy the others time."
He was waiting for a fight, but not in this state.
"They should dress up fast, or at least pick up their weapons."
He was waiting for the first attackers to come and meet their demise.

Dusty was about to answer Kaeri's question when she heard Marlo say "Get your armors on, I'll try to hold them off.Any magic users are welcome to buy the others time."
She looked up in his direction and noticed what looked like a band of Nord and Argonian bandits. Frustrated that her relaxation was being interrupted so soon, she rose up out of the spring, her clothes soaking wet, and snatched up her glass mace. "Guess you're about to find out," she mumbled to Kaeri, not sure if she was heard. She slid on her boots quickly as she watched the intruders get closer. There wasn't enough time to wring out her shirt and pants and put on the rest of her armor. She would have to make up for her lack of defense with frequent healing. Before they reached them, she braced herself behind Marlo, her mace and healing spell at the ready.

(Edited for spelling mistake)

Antonius said sternly to the group. "Everyone be quiet for a minute, I think I hear people coming!" Raz'gul spun to look and using his wolfish vision and hearing, he saw the group of bandits walking towards them. The leader, said "See, I told you we would find some poor saps in there," The others in the group just grunted, but they all had wicked grins on their faces and drew their swords. Marlo was the only one out of the pools, before he even finished saying.
"Get your armors on, I'll try to hold them off.Any magic users are welcome to buy the others time." Raz'gul was out of the spring leggings on and axe in hand, he knew he wouldn't have time to armor all the way up. He stood next to Marlo, "What do you say we go great our new friends?" Raz'gul said with a sinister smile, he swung his axe a couple times to warm up his arm, then he started moving towards the group.

I nodded to Dusty and Ant, then swiftly climbed out of the pool, drying myself off as much as possible and dressing myself again. Luckily, I hadn't wet my hair so it wasn't in the way, plastered to my face. Enrael stood beside me, growling with his hackles raised as I drew Lycan.

The bandits drew closer and closer, and Raz'gul eventually led Marlo towards them, his axe swinging wildly. I waited a moment, then followed, about twenty feet behind them, with my knees slightly bent, ready to use any of the number of powers my unusual affliction granted me.

What do you say we go great our new friends? Raz'gul said to Marlo, at which point a smirk showed up on Marlo's face.
"It would truly be impolite of us not to introduce ourselves." he said as he started walking alongside Raz.He looked behind and seen that the group was behind them, following them and preparing themselves for the fight.
He looked back at the bandits and thought
"Poor souls. How the heck did they manage to pick us as a target for mugging?"

Marlo smirked at Raz'gul, he wondered if this would get Marlo off his back. "It would truly be impolite of us not to introduce ourselves." Marlo said as the two increased their speed towards the group.

A wondrous greeting it was, one of the Argonians came at Raz'gul with a dagger. Raz'gul knocked the dagger, almost jokingly from the lizards hand, the Argonian looked terrified, and that look stayed on his face well after the Orc took his head off in one swing of his axe. Marlo stepped forward and prepared to deal with the next unfortunate soul.

((OOC: Fus if i took to much control of your character I apologize and will edit it.))

Antonius raised himself from the pool. He realized that it would take him too long to put on the chitin armour, so he opted for his bow instead of his sword. As he took his bow from his equipment, he took his quiver as well. He took an arrow out of his quiver and placed it on his string. He pulled it back, held his breath, focused on a Nord, and released. As he released he grabbed another arrow from his quiver and placed it on his bow, his hands moving like lightning. Then came the familiar sound of an arrow penetrating flesh, and the scream that often came with it. He must've looked quite the sight as he was fully nude while doing this, fighting while nude would certainly be a first for him. He then noticed the Orc, Raz'gul cut through an Argonian with his axe. It was a clean cut, unlike a cut from a novice (novice's cuts are jagged and lopsided).

Dusty watched as Raz'gul easily took out one of the Argonians. In almost the same instant, a Nord was downed by an arrow that came from behind Dusty. She glanced behind her quickly to confirm it was Antonius'.

Amidst the chaos, another Nord was pacing towards her with a wicked grin on his face. Dusty backed up a few feet while he drew closer to her, raising his sword to strike. She evaded his first blow, swung her mace over her head and brought it down on top of his helmet, putting a sizeable dent in it. He shook off the hit, but Dusty could see some blood trailing down his face.

Before she could swing again, Dusty felt a sharp pain on her forearm. The Nord had managed to slice her a little, despite her constant effort to dodge. She realized then she relied too heavily on her armor.

They both raised their weapons once more and clashed for just a second, forcing Dusty backwards a bit. Before her opponent could retaliate again, she smacked him in the side of the face with her mace. He grunted, and tried to fight back, but as Dusty withdrew her weapon and backed away, the large man fell forward. And he stayed down.

Marlo stepped forward, bashing an incoming Argonian who wheld two daggers and making him stumble. He thrusted his sword through him, pushing the body off his sword and noticed another one was coming from his left.It was a fairly big Nord with an axe.He blocked the attack which pushed him back a little bit, regained his strength and blocked the next attack in such a way that he had enough time to plunge his sword through the Nord's forearm, twisting the sword and causing agony. The Nord dropped his axe and fell to a knee.Marlo hit him with the sharp tip of his shield in the soft spot above the clavicle, causing a lot of bleeding. He looked around for any other attackers and stayed alert to see if anyone needed help, also analyzing their fighting styles.

(Reminder:I got an Ebony Shield)
Edit:Minor fixes

I swung Lycan at one of the bandits just as Enrael leapt onto another and tore his throat out. The bandit I swung at immediately collapsed to the floor in two distinct thunks, both halves of his torso hitting separately. I smiled grimly as I jumped forward to the next, throwing my blade into the man's throat and quickly retrieving it, letting the red fountain spray over another, blinding him and letting me spin around with my left foot out, tripping him up, then dropping Lycan and embedding it in his heart.

"Is that it? Is there anyone else?" It was both a taunt to the bandits, and a question to my companions.

Raz'gul watched as Marlo dispatched two bandits in style. He was impressed. Raz'gul readied his axe again, checking his surroundings to see who was left. Kaeri said "Is that it? Is there anyone else?" With that Raz'gul walked over to the Nord Marlo dropped with his shield he seemed the leader and a gurgling sound was coming from him. He pick up the Nord's head by his hair, "Got anymore friends?" the Nord's eyes rolled back into his head as he slipped away. Raz'gul looked back at the group and said. "I think the party is over!" As he raised his axe to his comrades!

Dusty smiled at Raz'gul's comparison of the skirmish they just had to a party. She didn't necessarily enjoy taking another's life, but when it couldn't be avoided, being light-hearted about it was a breath of fresh air.

She hovered her left hand over the minor gash in her opposite arm, letting the glistening glow of her Healing spell envelop it. In seconds, it was reduced to a faint pink line, which would completely heal later. She briefly glanced around to see if anyone else needed healing, but reasoned that they would ask if they wanted her help.

Assuming the others wouldn't want to get back in the springs, Dusty wrang out her clothes and slipped back into her armor. With the constant wind penetrating her armor and the heat of her body combined, her clothes would dry quickly enough.

She didn't say anything but listened out for Antonius' word.

Antonius looked around at his companions and gave a smile. More then anything, because he knew their skill had just been tested. And they more then passed. He spoke up, "Great fighting, that appears to be all of them. You all did well, especially considering it was a surprise attack. Well, then again, what fight is ever truly planned. I believe we should make use of whatever sunlight we have left to travel towards Solitude," He then picked up his Chitin armour and began the rather complicated process of putting it on. Despite its difficulty it was still some of the best armour he ever wore in his life of professional battle. It offered great mobility, it was light, and made his green eyes shine. As soon as he was dressed up, he sheathed his sword and bow. The bow had a special spot on the back of his armour, while the glass sword had its sheath on Antonius' waist. He then waited on the others to be ready and was once again in a rush for Solitude.

Raz'gul was able to quickly throw on the rest of his armor. He looked to Marlo and said, "Good fighting shield brother. I know you left but you are in the end a companion for life." Raz'gul looked at the rest of the group. Thinking to himself, "By Malacath, we may actually do this." he looked to Antonius who spoke to the group. "Great fighting, that appears to be all of them. You all did well, especially considering it was a surprise attack. Well, then again, what fight is ever truly planned. I believe we should make use of whatever sunlight we have left to travel towards Solitude," Nodding Raz'gul waited for the group to get on the move again.

(OOC:I didn't get any alerts/emails about your posts, got no idea why)
"Good fighting shield brother. I know you left but you are in the end a companion for life." he heard Raz'gul say to him.
"I can say the same about you, that's a mean axe swing you got there." he told Raz'gul with a smirk on his face.
Hearing what Antonius said Marlo was glad that they were finally moving again."Looks like this group is more skilled than I thought. And at last we are moving, we might actually make it to Whiterun and get some rest pretty fast.Hopefully we won't encounter any others ambushes..there are really few places that I can think of ambushes and I hope I'm wrong."
"Good job everyone" he said and went towards Antonius, waiting for everyone to be ready and leave.

Antonius and the group marched ever onward to Solitude. The trip wasn't the most interesting, as they just walked, talked, and, on occasion, fought off bandits. The rocky earth of the hot springs eventually gave way to the cold, snowy marshes of Hjaalmarch. Then to Solitude's Haafingar, the city rested on a cliff formed of stone. The stone cut into an arch rising over a great ocean. The weather was biting but it wasn't snowing or raining, and the sun's early rays touched the ocean in a beautiful array of light.

The group walked on the docks, having taken a boat to Solitude they were glad to be out walking and stretching their worn limbs. Ironically, it seemed that sitting on a boat wore out Antonius' muscles more then walking or running. The sound of sailor's cursing and drinking filled the salty air and reached Antonius' ears. The noise was poison to his senses but he tried to ignore it, he didn't want trouble when he was so close to the General's doorstep. The group walked past the salty docks and walked up the nearby road to Solitude's gates. The stone road was surrounded by mountain flowers at its borders and grass filled the cracks of the roads.

They approached the great stone gate and were questioned by a guard, "State your business or leave!"

Antonius looked the Nord in his eyes and responded confidently, "We are mercenaries looking for work. Do you know where we might find some?"

"Well, there's always the rich merchants. The priests might have something for you. Or if you really want to test your metal, go see General Tullius. Word is, he's looking for a few strong mercenaries to take care of some dirty business. Just rumor I'm sure, but it wouldn't hurt you to check it out."

"I see, thank you," Then Antonius looked behind him and faced his new found allies, "Alright lads and ladies, looks like we have some coin to make and some fat cats to please."

The guard opened the reddish gates and allowed Antonius and the rest to enter. As they entered, the city enveloped them all. The salty air of the docks was soon changed with the perfumed smell of the city. The sound of sailors cursing was changed with idle gossip and the sound of merchants bartering their goods. The great streets were outlined by great gardens of nightshade, mountain flowers, and deathbell. Man, mer, and beast rushed to perform their own, various tasks. The buildings they entered and exited were made of marvelous stone bricks. Layed by master artisans and built to last. What wood was in the city, was of fine oak. However, there were also a few beggars and drunks. They manifested in the cities dark allies, mainly minding their own business, but a few gave the group dark looks of hatred and bitterness.

Antonius looked behind at the rest of the group with a great grin on his face and said, "Welcome to Solitude, home of the province's most esteemed artisans and wealthy." His grin swiftly vanished and was replaced by a look of seriousness, "We all know why we are here. Come, follow me, I know the way to General Tullius."

His grin swiftly vanished and was replaced by a look of seriousness, "We all know why we are here. Come, follow me, I know the way to General Tullius." After a long journey it was good to be back in a city and not the coldest part of hell. Raz'gul nodded and acknowledged Antonius. He kept his helmet on, he knew a few Orcs that were legionaries and didn't want to draw unwanted attention to the group. He walked up to Antonius and reminded him, "If this direct approach doesn't work out, I do have some friends in the legion that owe me some favors." patting him on his shoulder and returning to rank and file.

Dusty took in a deep breath of the Solitude city air. Although she enjoyed the salt water well enough, some things in that beautiful city just couldn't be beat. It was one of the cities she visited the least-- the other being Dawnstar. Even so, the sweet refined air about Solitude was unmistakable, even for someone who hadn't been there much.

On another note, Dusty wasn't particularly interested in meeting General Tullius. She would be in his midst, and she would bear it, but she wouldn't like it. Antonius needed this, and, being his hired hand, Dusty would have to hold her tongue in the presence of the Imperial leader. It isn't Tullius who cut out your eyes, she reminded herself, chewing on her lip.

She tagged along behind the group, doing her absolute best to look more like a mercenary than an enemy of the Thalmor. With a furrowed brow and two clenched fists, she focused her sights on the back of Raz'gul's head, deciding it would be best not to look any soldier in the eye.

I grinned, sheathing Lycan as Enrael howled. We set off towards Solitude, fighting off more bandits along the path along the way, and just talking in the meantime. We reached Solitude by boat, catching it from Hjaalmarch and taking it straight to the docks.

Ant got us into Solitude under the false pretense of being mercenaries looking for work. He turned to us, grinning.
"Welcome to Solitude, home of the province's most esteemed artisans and wealthy." His grin immediately faded. "We all know why we are here. Come, follow me, I know the way to General Tullius."
I knew the way too, having been quite heavily involved with the Legion and being raised just down the road in Dragon Bridge. I sped up, coming to walk beside Ant, noticing Dusty as I went. She was biting her lip, and looked quite apprehensive, but I ignored it and just came beside Antonius, brushing a tightly gloved hand against his arm and smiling, my yellow-purple eyes flashing slightly in the sunlight.
"Just remember to keep your cool in there, alright? Tullius knows the both of us, so I'll help talk to him. But if you get angry, he'll be even more unlikely to give you any help. Stay calm, whatever he says, alright?" I grimaced at him when I was finished, to demonstrate that I didn't like it any better than he did. But I was right; getting angry was more likely to end up with another death than avenging one who had already died.
