I just realized something while wandering around down there for like two hours (again). Blackreach isn't a confusing mess - it's deliberately designed to feel like you're lost in an alien world that doesn't follow normal dungeon logic. The way the vertical space works, how the Falmer architecture doesn't line up with normal Nord ruins, the fact that you can see the massive Dwemer mechanisms but can't always interact with them - it's all intentional world-building.
On my first few runs I hated it. Thought it was just bad design. But this time I realized the game is actually making you FEEL like an outsider in a place that belonged to an entirely different civilization thousands of years ago. The Dwemer built this place for themselves, not for you, and Blackreach proves it.
Also the Crimson Nirnroot questline actually makes sense now because you're supposed to feel like you're doing archaeology, not just grabbing collectibles. You're literally uncovering evidence of what happened down there.
Anyone else have a location that completely clicked for them on a later playthrough? I feel like Skyrim rewards coming back to it.
