Just spent three hours down there on my current playthrough and I'm convinced the whole zone is built to make you feel lost and uncomfortable on purpose. The way it's laid out doesn't follow normal dungeon logic - paths loop back on themselves, the lighting is deliberately murky so you can't see far ahead, and there's no clear "main path" like most Dwemer ruins have.
And then there's the Falmer. They're not threatening in a fun way, they're just... everywhere. Constantly. It's exhausting in a way that feels intentional. By the time I found the actual exit I was genuinely frustrated, which I think is exactly what Bethesda wanted.
The thing is, I kind of love it? Most dungeons in Skyrim feel like theme park rides. Blackreach feels like an actual place that doesn't care if you navigate it efficiently. It's hostile and confusing and you're supposed to feel small down there.
Does anyone else get that vibe or am I reading too much into it?
