Boss fights; Easy, Generic Battles; Challenging

War Mage
As the title suggest, in my opinion, boss fights are pretty easy, I generally don't have to load a save from dying. (silgis being the exception, he disarms and throws you across the room, most annoying). Anyway, Alduin for example, for me, easy. Now what I normally find harder are the battles between these boss fights. These generic battles I sometimes have to reload to think of a different strategy to go by to win. Such as if you don't have a follower and nearly no health pots and your going against 3 deathlord draugers, they can't always be simple, them shouting doesn't help.

Its these kinds of battles where I actually find challenge in. If I have to re-load to think of a new way of beating a enemy, thats a plus. The boss fights though? For the most part you could use the same strat again and again, only exception being there resistance to certain magics that may hinder your typical strat.

Thoughts?

How far into the game are you? Some dragon priests are difficult, depending on which one your against.

I definitely enjoy the challenge that comes with the necessity of planning out an attack.

I'm a melee, with little magic or magic resistance at the moment. I had the following mage encounter that took some planning, simply as a result of the limitations of my own build. SPOILER: The last fight that took some strategy was during a Winter College quest (I think?), where there was a mage being protected within a force field maintained by a couple of other mages. He smoked me a few times before I figured out I had to order my companion to take out the supporting mages while I stood hovered over the main guy, swords drawn ready to slice away the second the field went down!

In reference to your sig, I did the same thing with the free legion armor that was given to me by the merchant outside the palace; sold them back to the guy the second after he gave them to me! Was hoping for some kind of smart ass remark, but no dice. I hope I never have to report in my uniform!

The only thing now that gives me any trouble is casters. For some reason I can't seem to take more than 3-4 hits from a high level caster (and I'm Breton, I think the last patch mucked up my magic resistance). Draugr Deathlords don't even faze me anymore, their shouts make me wobble at most. Last time a shout affected me was when I did the quest for the Bard's college to find some epic poem. The guy at the end shouted and it actually threw me, so I stood up, loaded up Unrelenting Force, walked over, and shouted his ass across the room. I then prompty walked up and cut him to pieces.

Dragon priests were harder then 90% of dragons in my opinion. And alduin wasnt hard like my first ancient dragon in my opinion..

My first dragon was harder than Alduin. And my first dragon priest died without hitting me, the second one actually killed me, but the second time it died quickly. Deathlords in groups can be annoying. But here is a funny story!

I was doing the man quest and was going to kill Alduin, and on the last part before the priest I faced off against 3 deathlords, I was like, OH SHIZ!!! But then I used unrelenting force and all 3 flew off the building and fell pretty far down, Lmao. on my second try too, was so funny.
