Bug: Massive Energy Beam Above my Head!

I was playing Dawnguard today, and came across this strange bug/glitch. I sided with the Dawnguards in the first quest, and have completed several quests since then. I just finished the quest 'Beyond Death', a strange energy beam appeared above my head. During the quest, I was walking around and exploring the Soul Cairn. I'm not entirely sure when it started happening, but it was about half-way through the quest. I did choose to leave my soul behind, so I thought that this effect was part of that choice I made. But after finishing the quest, I left the Soul Cairn and returned back home. Then I became quite annoyed because the light beam didn't go away.

I tried to select the beam using the console, but it just selects the item behind it. I am a werewolf, and if I transform into a werewolf, then the light beam goes away and instead a blueish outline appears around my character. But then when I turn back into a human, the light beam comes back again. In first-person view, the sides of the screen are distorted and the blue light appears in front of my face. It is very annoying.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how I can stop it? I have tried saving and reloading, and also restarting Skyrim, but nothing works.

Here are some photos of the bug:

There's a way to get rid of this.

Travel back to the Soul Cairn, and go near one of the large hovering Soul Gems (the ones that the Soul Husks give you 10 seconds of immunity from), but don't use a Soul Husk or a Soul Husk Extract potion; it will start sapping your health.

Let it zap you for just a second, then run away from it. This should get rid of the glitched graphic.

For what it's worth, this is a visual glitch only, so far as I know. It doesn't screw up your saved data, and it doesn't have any negative (or positive) effects on your character or anything else...so all of your old save files should be fine.
