Cannot kill Stormcloak camp leaders?

I've completed Imperial Legion questline and Tulius told me to eradicate any Stormcloak camps I find. Whenever I approach them, they all attack me but when I damage the leader enough, he falls down for a bit and then just gets up again and starts fighting again. Help? And yes I know this is common but I want to know if there are any fixes yet.

Same for me. They are immortal I guess

They are still labeled as essential even though the war is over. So it is impossible to kill them. There are mods on pc that fix this but console owners just have to deal with it. Sorry.

I think I read somewhere that if you have a follower that they can kill them, but I'm not sure about this

Unfortunately that doesn't work. They are immortal for the civil war quest line so that they cannot be killed off before they give you their quests. However the immortality is never stripped after they are not needed. There is no way to fix this without mods or console commands.
