Private Delving into the Dustman's Cairn

Xxaga stood outside of the ruin, waiting for the boy to arrive. She'd expected him to beat her here, but he was new, after all, and likely had to really think about what to pack. She put a foot on the rim of the entrance of the ruin and looked down. It was a circular pit, with wooden steps going down. Set into one of the walls was a door made out of black iron. Depicted on the door was a dragon head, a symbol important to ancient Nord culture. She knew this because almost every ruin had a monolith with ancient Nordic writing on it, and a dragon head embossed on its inner surface. And if the ruin didn't have such a thing, it was usually on at least one black iron door.

Malek arrived at dustmans cairn to see Xxaga examining the door to the ruin. He wasn't surprised to see she had made it here before him.
Malek had encountered a group of bandits on the road to the ruin and, not wanting to become their latest victim, had been forced to give them a wide berth and skirt around the edge of the mountains to the north. Still, it had given him the opportunity to collect a few good wolf pelts along the way.
Malek sidled up alongside Xxaga. "Sorry to keep you waiting" apologised the young Breton, "bandit trouble" He offered further, shrugging his shoulders.

Xxaga nodded and drew Dragonbane. It was the only blade of its kind, and likely worth a lot. Its blade was stained with the blood of dragons. It looked like it had been used quite a lot. She gripped it by the blade, which had electricity arcing across its quicksilver blade, and said, "Use this. There's sure to be Draugr in here. It may be meant for dragons, but it still shocks others." She pushed the door open, and cold air rushed out of it now that the seal was broken.

Malek took dragonbane by the hilt. He was amazed by the balance and craftsmanship of the blade that put his own iron longsword to shame. He held the blade to his side as he hurried behind Xxaga to keep pace as she went striding down the stone steps if the cairns entrance. How fearless she seemed to Malek, obviously unconcerned with any wandering menace she may come across. Malek would prefer to stick to the shadows and avoid any conflict if possible but in the presence of this great warrior and with dragonbane humming and fizzing in his hand he was filled with unfamiliar confidence and strode at pace with Xxaga into the entrance chamber of the tomb.

Xxaga turned to Malek. "Be careful with that blade. It's most likely worth more than you are. And be on the lookout. Draugr aren't tough individually, but they get pretty tough when they swarm you." When she said that, she was glad he didn't take him to where she originally planned to go, which was the Dwemer ruin of Mzulft. Dwarven artifacts were worth a lot of money. "And what's your name, boy?" She didn't want to have to keep calling him "boy". Even for her, it was a bit impersonal. She took her Daedric waraxe from its loop on her belt, raised her shield, and pressed onward. The ruins smelled of dust and decay, but such was to be expected in an ancient Nordic barrow.
