I own Breezehome in Whiterun. I use it for storage. I wanted a second home, so I went to Windhelm to get, what I was told, was a great home. I started doing favors for the Jarl ... only to eventually attack Whiterun. I didn't realize this is where it was leading. So, now we are burning Whiterun and replaced the Jarl with a new guy. Will Breezehome still be listed as owned by me? Will I lose my non-respawning storage? Will I start to lose items that I have stored there?

I don't think that player housing is effected by the civil war. During the battle for Whiterun, Breezehome doesn't even get touched. As a hero of the war, living in Whiterun under the new jarl whom you put in power, I don't believe that you need fear being made homeless.
The funny thing is, in my first playthrough, when I heard that Whiterun was going to be attacked, my husband and I got ourselves out of there fast and settled in Riften instead. I still think fondly of Honeyside as our "escape hatch", though it was totally unnecessary.

no, your house should be fine; I think the only changes I noticed was it said "key required" when I first went up to it after the battle, but opened just fine. You probably did lose your thane title though (even though you'll still have whats-her-name as a follower), you have to go see the new jarl guy and he re-thanes you.

Yup. during the battle the house will be locked and you won't be able to go in, but after the battle, you can go back. You do have to go to the new jarl and become thane again and will get a new "<something> of whiterun" weapon to add to your collection.

Breezehome is untouched by the stormcloaks so it should be fine.You will however have to talk to the yarl about becoming thane and stuff.But other than that you will not be sleeping on whiterun's streets.Wish I could say the same for others.

the same happened to me! after the attack on Whiterun was over i went to go to my house but it said my house was locked and i needed the key, the bad part is i stored all my keys in my house....so i locked myself out of my house. plz tell me i can get into my house somehow cuz i had alot of valuables in there (money, my dragon priest's masks, dragon bones and scales, and my wife). if i cant im just going to start a new game! So plz help!!!!

You should never store keys because they are weightless. It's still lame that they locked you out of your own house, though.

If you're on a PC you can use console commands to get another copy of the key.

It isn't just he players who join the storm cloaks I'm an imperial and I aaving same probem i think its just because i dont have my key but i cant find it in amy of my houses
