Display Cases

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but are the Display cases in Lakeview Manor bugged? I can open and close them, but I can't actually put anything in them.

You must physically drop and pick up objects , lift , and place it in display case.

Please note that while many objects will remain in cases , many others will be ejected from case when you return later.
Trial and error for me to see what stays put and what doesn`t.

Not all items will display properly. This is what works best for me.

Lets say I want to put a dagger in a small display case. I'll drop the dagger on the ground. Leave the house so it autosaves (xbox). Walk back in the house then place it in the display case.

I personally haven't tried using the display cases yet. I've had no issues with mannequins, racks, or cupboards though. Seems like they should have that sort of bugginess worked out by now though, doesn't it? :/

Same problem here with weapon racks. I hung my Nightingale sword in one of those and it disappeared (!). It never returned. :'-(

This works.

I put my Ghostblade in my upstairs display case. Later on it was on the floor and under a bookshelf. I can see it sticking through the floor while downstairs, but there is no way to get it. Its lost for good I guess.

I think it's ridiculous they don't just let us place items in a display case from our inventory, like when we use a book shelf. And when you drop items, they don't want to land where you're aiming. I have the cross hairs aimed at the open display case, and the items I drop seem to go everywhere but. I tried to do this with valdr's lucky dagger, and lost it, never to be seen again. I suppose it's stuck inside a piece of furniture or something where I can't see or reach it.

I have found this to be very irritating. I was very confused at first after spending quite a long time decorating my house and dragging items into proper positions. I would then leave my house and come back later and see everything all over the floor in a huge mess. I thought the kids were doing it or something. I didnt know i had to drop all of my items i wanted set up on the ground, then leave the house and come back in then put them up.

Its even more irritating trying to drag a large sword or statue to table and display case and position it just right and avoiding knocking over everything nearby in the process.I think there needs to be a new patch to fix this. It should allow simple decorate mode with arrow options on the item that you can properly drag to the spot you want it to be without knocking anything over and without the heavy statues ending up laying on the table sideways or upside down.

I had these Dwarven Swords of Devouring and the Dwarven Sword of Burning I got during the civil war questline and I had them in a weapons rack in the entrance of Windstad Manor and every time I came back it would be higher and higher until it was sticking into the roof of the house. Eventually it disappeared completely.

Do these bugs only apply to consoles? I am using the Display Cases as well and I am not experiencing any problems with them for so far on PC. Only getting the swords in the Display Cases etc. is a very annoying thing to do.
