Do you ever fast travel?

I fast travel at all times if possible.. with the obvious exception that if I have not been to a location. Even then I'll fast travel to the closest spot then ride from there. I find if I do ride some where long distance I get side tracked..
Oh... a cave... Oh a bandit camp... Yay a word wall.. wait what was I doing?

I'll use fast travel in the event that I need to sell off inventory quickly so I can return to a quest. But otherwise I just love riding my horse. He's an awesome horse and I love him, I take the time to ride him ridiculously short distances, just for the pleasure of watching him canter!

This is probably because I own horses in real life.

I find fast-traveling cheapens the experience. For my journaling project, I never fast-traveled. I rode the cart once but that was just as bad as fast-traveling. Passing by the same road multiple times can get a little tedious, passing by naked bandits you slayed days ago but you get to see the beauty of Skyrim terrain often in the most immersive fashion.

I fast travel when I'm doing a quest and I have to go to multiple places. There is no point to artificially extending a quest. Also if there is an area I haven't discovered yet and close to a cleared area, I'll travel to the cleared area and make the trip shorter especially if it's all the way over on the other side of the map. That's not to say I don't walk places. If I'm bored or don't feel like doing a quest, I'll wander around and see what kind of trouble I can scare up.

I do, probably because I run into enough bandits in villages. If I'm doing a quest, I never fast travel, even if it's based on a place I've been before because you can only do quests once... except for Reputations. :(

Early on I fast travel as my characters are usually too weak to handle the variety of enemies. But once I get some better equipment, that's all I do. I love (in my wood elf game) just sneaking around the forest and sniping camps of forsworn or bandits. My Nord game I still fast travel but am about to call it quits to that as I will finally start the main quest.

Whenever I go somewhere for the first time, I do everything I can along the way so that I'm not missing anything when I use fast travel later (which I'll choose to do most of the time). If I haven't used a road for quite awhile though, I'll take it w/o FTing so that I can re-gather items (including some hunting for respawned game/souls) for alchemizing/enchanting.

This game has hundreds of hours of things to do w/o adding a lot of foot travel to it through areas I've already been.

Later in the game I'll probably do a lot of foot travel so I can discover as many of the random world events as possible.

i fast travel alot because i only get about 10-15 (15 pretty rare so far) hours a WEEK to play so i wanna get as much done as possible when ever i can play. married with 3 kids!! XD

I walk a lot when I start new characters...helps to fast travel later in the game when I'm actually questing, but I take time to explore to enhance my grinding experience.

I fast travel all the time.I figure when I've exhausted the quests is when I'll explore every nook and cranny and Kill every bandit.

Yeah i fast travel.

Skyrim has great graphics - but if i want to enjoy scenery i will go to the park tbh.

theres plenty of opportunity to drink in the sites traveling to locations I havent been to before. I try to be efficient in my time so fast travel as much as possible if it saves time. Just like the other poster ill fast travel to stables while Im in the city if it helps. I even fast travel like lets say...Im at a guardian stone and I drop off some rocks and have slight trouble climbing them(happened once while fighting necro guarding it). Ill just fast travel to the guardian stone again.

I almost always fast travel, sometimes I'll go on foot b/c that is the best way to discover new places.

I use fast travel quite a bit. I usually fast travel to some town or landmark, then whenever I'm done doing whatever, I walk out the gates normally and look around. I think it depends on my mood. Sometimes I feel like I just want to clean up some quests so I want to fast travel here and there. Sometimes I just want to wander around on the landscape to see what I run into. I'm just glad that both options are available.

That's definitely one of the great things about this immense and beautiful open world game! :)
