Do you honestly use your follower on adventures?

I use that follower that you pick up from the Shrine of Azura. Forgot her name, but she's a mage and works well with my character.

I sacrifice my followers to Deadric lords.

i mainly use followers as company... after all you can get pretty damn lonely and scared after travelling around for hours in a vast landscape all alone!!! I rarely pick up new items now as i have no need for more $$ (i have the solitude house all decked out, 220k cash and over 300k's worth of enchanted iron daggers in my Arch Mage quarters... ), so really the only real use for a follower for me, is to DISTRACT and do DAMAGE, i now have Belrand the nord as my buddy, equipped with full legendary daedric armour and a legendary daedric sword. He goes hard and i would be so bored and lonely without him!
