Does anyone else feel weird about the steward's bedroom in their homestead?

I'm on my third playthrough and just realized something. You build this whole house, decorate it, set up the kitchen and armory and everything, and then your steward gets like... the nicest bedroom in the place? I gave Rayya the master suite at Lakeview because I didn't think about it, and now every time I walk past her room it's got this weird vibe.

Like, she's working for you. She's managing your property and dealing with attacks and probably underpaid. But it still feels off that she gets better furniture than you sometimes, depending on what you build. Does anyone else just leave the steward's room kind of bare on purpose? Or am I overthinking this lol.

nah you're not overthinking it, that's a legit design quirk of Hearthfire. the steward bedroom is weirdly good - like, it's got the best bed frame and the game kind of pushes you toward making it nice because there's limited bedroom options and you naturally want your property manager to not hate you.

I think the intended vibe is supposed to be "you're a good employer" but yeah, it does read as backwards sometimes. on my current playthrough at Windstad Manor I basically ignored the steward's room and just threw some basic furniture in there. my character's bedroom is the one with all the display cases and the good alchemy setup, which feels more right to me - like, you're the Dragonborn, you should have the nicest space.

that said, Rayya's a solid steward and honestly she probably deserves it after dealing with all those bandit attacks lol. but I get why it feels off. the Hearthfire DLC doesn't really let you roleplay the power dynamic as much as you'd think it would.
