Does House Redoran's "honorable" code actually lock you out of anything?

I'm planning my first Morrowind playthrough and leaning toward House Redoran because the whole honor-through-combat thing appeals to me after Skyrim's "join literally every faction" design. But I'm worried that their strict code means I'll miss out on quests or playstyles compared to, say, House Hlaalu or Telvanni. Like, does refusing underhanded jobs actually gate content, or is it just flavor? And how does it compare to what you get from the other Houses if you're trying to experience the full questline?

Okay, so I'm gonna push back a little here - Redoran's code in Morrowind is way less restrictive than you're thinking, especially compared to how Skyrim factions work.

The honor thing is mostly about how you do quests, not which ones you get. You're not locked out of the questline itself. Yeah, there are a handful of jobs early on where a Redoran member might refuse (like some shady Hlaalu-style assassination or theft gigs), but the game doesn't actually force you to turn those down - it's flavor roleplay. You can do them if you want. The code is more of a guideline than a hard gate, which honestly makes it feel more like actual honor than a mechanical restriction.

Where Redoran actually differs is the mid-to-late questline gets you into more direct martial stuff - proving yourself through combat, political maneuvering, that kind of thing. You're not sneaking around poisoning people or making backroom deals like Hlaalu does. But you're still getting a full questline with unique rewards and rank progression.

The real difference between the three houses is flavor and playstyle, not content gating. Hlaalu's more mercenary and underhanded, Telvanni's all magical research and weird moral compromises, Redoran's straightforward honor-through-strength. None of them locks you out of the main quest or anything - you just experience different political angles on the same world.

If you're worried about missing stuff, honestly your bigger concern should be that Morrowind's design doesn't hold your hand like Skyrim does. You can permanently lock yourself out of questlines by killing the wrong NPC or making story choices, but that's true regardless of which house you join.
