Does Size Matter?

Just to generate and then sift through some opinions, why are the Dunmer shorter than the Nords? I know by definition the Nords are noted as being a tall people, but I can't help but feel a little stupid walking around Skyrim and everyone's towering over me. For that matter, are there other races besides the Dunmer and the Bosmer that are shorter than the others? Like, I dunno, just call me a Morrowind fan boy (both of the game and the place), but the dark elves are due a little more dignity than to be dwarfed by the Nords like this. What do you think?

Breton and Khajiit females are the shortest (scaled to .95). The Dunmer males are actually slightly taller than Bosmer males (1.0 and .98 respectively) and Bosmer males are the shortest, even compared to their sisters who are scaled to 1.0.

Breton and Khajiit males are the same height as Dunmer males and the Redguard males are only marginally taller (1.005) with Argonians males (but not females) slightly taller than that at (1.01). Only the Nords, Orcs and Altmer are significantly taller. I think the Dunmer are fine at their existing heights.

And in regards to whether it matters, you go a fraction of the speed quicker if you're taller.
