I just realized I've been fighting dragons completely wrong for like five playthroughs. I was always trying to burst them down with whatever my highest damage output was - archery, spells, whatever - and getting frustrated when they'd just heal mid-fight or I'd run out of resources.
Then on my current run I started using the perk that staggers them on power attacks and suddenly dragon fights went from "tedious slog where I chug potions" to actually engaging. Like, you can interrupt their breath attacks. You can force them to land. The fight becomes about positioning and timing instead of just raw numbers.
I think the problem is the game doesn't really teach you this. You're just thrown into your first dragon fight at level 5 and expected to figure out that cc matters more than damage. Most guides just say "get this much health, use this spell" but nobody mentions that a well-timed bash or the right perk setup makes the whole thing click.
Anyone else have a dragon fight moment where something just suddenly worked way better than your usual strategy?
