Game Freezes( I have 2 Nividia Geforce 9400 GTs and they are connected with SLI)

I had no problems like this with any other games i have but when i play skyrim, even on low quality, i can walk around and stuff but the game freezes for like 10 secs then comes back. alot. then sometimes it will freeze and it will lock my computer up. anyone else have this problem? anyone know a solution?

*Update* tooling around with your graphics in the control panel of your ATI or Nvidia helps a bit. turning off background thing with MSconfig and turn off your virus software. am i right? even though i did most of the fixes i still lag and when i get to a certain point like encountering the spider boss, my cursor doesnt react right and it gets all glitchy. any help?
