Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Staying out of the war isn't a bad idea.
If anything people should consider the lore for their character.
I just hate that they make u anti imperial from the start with that b-tech legate rikke. She should spread her legates and let me use my tongue to rikke that pus..... Uhhh this got weird.

thankfully, the storms are not:

racists

Really? So openly showing dislike to innocent people in their cities just because of their race, and not allowing certain races to even go inside their cities isn't racist, then? What would you call it? Just curious.

I wouldn't argue with him if I were you. He doesn't operate on the same brain waves like the rest of us.

ah. this again.

it's called smart. i'd personally take it farther. racist? lol. you sensitive liberals.

Theres no question that under the Empire the affluent of skyrim will prosper and so will its people and villages, however, it is at the mercy of the Thalmor under the Empire. Thalmor are great puppet masters controlling the Empire, sure sure, maybe the Empire will have you believe eventually they'll get rid of the Thalmor. But the more reliant on the Thalmor's orders they are, the more they are under their control and eventually (if was real life), the Thalmor would be like a shadow govt and people under the Empire would be spies for the Thalmor giving information back and forth on anyone who wanted to overthrow the Thalmor, thus the Thalmor could create civil unrest through Empire puppets overthrowing any part of the Empire that became a threat to the Thalmor.

Under the Stormcloaks, its going to be a hard rebuild, life as people knew it will change. Currency could even change. With the stormcloaks, since they are more like rebels, some of them are going to be shady people, some of them people who just like to do dirty work. The one thing for sure though is that they want freedom all across skyrim, sorry for you elves, and any race related or close to ancestory with the Thalmor, you'll be wiped out of existence more than likely. I could see a future where former stormcloaks might even want to overthrow Ulfrich if he becomes too egotistical of his own power, at least there will be checks and balances. The road to recovery is going to be harder, probably more bandits, more robberies, just like the old West. But it will all come together to become a better nation of freedom.

Kinda reminds me of star wars, the rebels were the good guys, and the empire was just corruption and darkness.

@ the discussion on page 62:

It isn't just about Talos, it is that they are taking away something important to the Nords and who is to say it won't continue? You have to nip it in the bud, you know? The only problem with the Stormcloaks is that their leader is a racist idiot and hates everyone else but Nords. Simple solution would be to kill Ulfric and establish someone who could lead the Stormcloaks through a less hateful way.

The Empire needs to learn to stop being labdogs to the Thalmor, and then they are all butterflies and kisses.

I was playing Skyrim today and I couldn't bring myself to join the Stormcloaks because of their racism problems. On both profiles I'm not a Nord. I'm a Wood Elf and a Khajiit. So the racism is just...ugh.

Now I think I'll join the Imperials, especially since I'm hoping an addon will arrive to for each side to "finish" it off.

I chose an Imperial as my race in the beginning, and the nerve of the empire to try and kill me! Hah, showed the empire by joining the storm cloaks, sometimes the stormcloak guards address me as imperial, sometimes they whine about vampires, and the jarls in the blue palace tell me i am a traitor to the empire and they cant wait to see me dead. I just walk in circles around them, because their stuck in the blue palace. lonely cowards, they shoulda joined the storm cloaks!

Dang...this has been quite a discussion lol.

Everyone has made valid points and many of the arguments have made me wonder whether I should start again and read all the books and listen very closely to every conversation, and take notes on it all

All I will simply say now is that i joined the Stormcloaks. My reasons are my own.

Thanks for bringing it back before that troll started attacking the Doctor Who guy and ruined this line of discussion. I think I agree with you, the only reservation I have about the Stormcloaks is their leader. I personally think the Dovahkiin would make a better leader, and just like Tiber Septim himself, he/she'd be able to conquer the rest of the world and make the empire great again!

well my nordic dovahkiin is happy to join the stormcloaks, however my Dunmer Dovahkiin is happy to join the Empire, as he believes they're the best chance for his people. The Stormcloaks have been bad for the Dunmer and he shudders to think what would happen if Ulfric were made high king. While he hates the Thalmor as much as any Nord, it doesn't really make a difference if the oppressing is done by Altmer or Nord, it's still oppression. The empire is the best chance for the Dunmer people.

I never thought about what Ulfric might do to others should he become High King. It seems obvious now that he would do what the Thalmor is doing but to others.

I guess it comes down to picking the "lesser evil"?

It's as true for Skyrim as it is for real life.

No Iam from Ohio:sadface:. Thats pretty damn cool though :D
I'm sure Ohio's not that bad! And yeah Tasmania doesn't have a lot of people, so I'd be surprised if I came across a fellow Tasmanian on this forum. And please don't calculate what time it is here, otherwise you'd find out that I'm actually supposed to be working!
