Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

I may be wrong about this, but don't elves live longer than humans? Or is that exclusive to a specific elven race?
The Aldmer, predecessor race to the current races of Mer had lifespans measured in millenia. The current Mer races have shorter life spans but they are significantly longer the the lifespans of the races of men.

We know that Indoril Nerevar, a Chimeri (the progenitors of the Dunmer) king of Resadyn (modern day Morrowind) united the Chimer in 1E 401 and that he was killed at the Battle of Red Mountain almost 300 years later. We also know of Divayth Fyr who was a Dunmer sorcerer over 4,000 years old, although his age is probably an extreme exception to the normal Dunmer lifespan. It is reasonable to assume based on the dialogue from the Dunmer in Windhelm, some of who reminisce about life in Morrowind before the eruption of Red Mountain, that the average uninterrupted lifespan of a Dunmer exceeds 200 years and is probably 250+ years.

I always chalked some of their life span up to the ash salts that Vvardenfell spits out on a regualr basis. Maybe Fyr figured out how to use these to extend his life.

In other words you think they should sit there and take it while the Nords **** them up the ass?

In other words you think you should be all flowers and rainbows to people that don't even care about you? And how is letting them live there even close to what you are saying? Given their history I'm not that far off saying if the situation was reverse the nords would probably be worse off than just segregation.

It all boils down to one thing. Do you consider racism and segregation acceptable behavior? Is it justifiable in any way to you?

I consider that if someone is indifferent towards you there is no reason you shouldn't treat them the same. And the reason the dunmer are in this situation is only cos they live there and care only about themselves, if they want to care only about themselves and think other people can't do the same that's their problem. They moved in there, no one asked them to. They are as much as racist as the nords you are simply to blind to see it cos the nords happen to be in power and are saying what goes. No matter how long you go around in circles about racism and bla-bla, the fact of the matter is, the dunmer moved there, they were not conquered and enslaved and moved there against their will. If they don't like how they are treated (based on the way how they treat the nords), they can change their attitude or move out and see if other people would tolerate their self-centered behavior, which if it were up to you I guess they will...

They don't have to care about them. But they shouldn't be discriminating them and abusing them. They are in the wrong no matter how you try to spin it.

Now read this as if you are answering my question to your question...

Those who think with thier brains can see the logic in the Emperor's descison. People who think with thier emotions, don't. These people are implsive. Rather than allow the Elves to rape and pillage thier way through the Empire untill they fought to another stalemate or just straight up lost, he agreed to thier terms until the Empire could recover well enough to defend itself in the inevitable second war with the elves.

Both sides lost a lot in the war, Hammerfell repelled them on their own. They didn't have to sign the original treaty! They could have start opposing them on the negotiation table. Not emotions, pure facts, sorry you can't see that. It's been 25 years you'd think they'd recover by now or at least try to oppose the torturing and killing of their own citizen.. but yeah if it were up to you, you'd probably wait for the Empire to do something in the next 700 years... and still be waiting..

I don't think you realize that after a war as damaging as the Great War, it takes many times more than 25 years to recover. I always compared the Great War to our own Great War: World War I. After about the same amount of time, the French were still utterly destroyed from World War I, and surrendered easily to the Germans as a result. I don't know how Germany recovered so fast, especially since it was the most heavily damaged of all the countries, but it was really the only one that did. All the other countries, except America, which wasn't damaged too much, were still feeling the effects of WWI at the start of WWII. And the game implies that the Great War was much worse than WWI, which is saying something. You really think a nation could recover from being almost completely destroyed in merely 25 years?

Funny you should try to argue with real life example when the Germans were probably way worse after WW1 and yet in 30 years they have a force capable of conquering half of Europe. How do you think that happens? But to answer your question - I'm not completely sure, but they could have at least try to oppose and do something to recover in some way or another, doing nothing and bowing to the Dominion ain't gonna get them far, you think the Germans would have been that strong in WW2 if they did nothing at all about their situation??

You don't seem to understand that the Empire was doing something. The Empire is significantly larger than Germany, with a much larger military. Even if they worked as hard as Germany did, it would take a lot longer to replenish such a huge military. But the Empire went at the relaxed pace that the other nations did, building up slowly but surely. Then the rebellion came, and they had to put their newly, partially replenished resources into that. If they had done nothing, the Legion would have been decimated by the rebels. As it is, they at least got to a stalemate. So unless you call building up at a relaxed pace "doing nothing", the Empire most definitely did not do nothing.

Like what? Opposing to the treaty? Wanting a new one? Stopping the killing and torturing of their own citizens??

And they can barely deal with it. Look, while you are doing things "at the relaxed pace" your enemy is working as hard as they can to utterly destroy you. Again, thank you for the lesson WW2. You think the Dominion is kicking it off and having margaritas on the beach too? I rly doubt that..

If they had done nothing, the Legion would have been decimated by the rebels.

That's what I'm hoping the result would be. But it's up to the devs.

You don't oppose the treaty meant to buy you the time needed to recuperate. That's completely stupid. And you really think the Dominion expects a war after a peace treaty was signed? In all my dealings with them, I've never had reason to believe that the Dominion was paranoid as well as cruel. And I'm guessing Bethesda will have the Dragonborn remain neutral for the purposes of lore, only destroying Alduin. Nothing else. So we really can't predict what the outcome of the war will be. But considering the higher number of skilled soldiers in the Legion, it'll likely be the Empire that wins. Whatever happens, the next game is extremely unlikely to take place in the Empire. It'll likely be in the Dominion.

You don't oppose the treaty meant to buy you the time needed to recuperate.

How is this meant to buy you time when it's the ORIGINAL treaty they wanted them to sign in the first place?? You think they didn't see it's only demands and orders for them to follow? Could have saved themselves the trouble and start working towards pleasing their masters the first time around..

And you really think the Dominion expects a war after a peace treaty was signed?

Hell yeah..

I don't even know what to say to such an idiotic post. Give me a moment...

Drawing it out would have been pointless. It would only be drawn out by a matter of days, at most. By signing the first treaty, they got decades.

And maybe I should reword it. Do you really think the Dominion expects a war so soon after a peace treaty was signed. 25 years is not a very long time for peace, you know.

I have to go to school, which I'm glad about so I don't have to deal with ***personal attack removed by Rayven*** for about eight hours.

By singing the first and original treaty they got ordered around, that's the bottom line. And let's not forget about Hammerfell who kicked the Dominion ass alone and are now on their own and with this pushover Empire that's the best they can be.

And what makes you think being insulting will get you anywhere or make your points more valid?

Give me solid evidence that the Empire is a pushover, and I'll take by my calling you ***the attack already removed by Rayven***. And I mean solid, not opinionated like the rest of the "evidence" you've given on this thread.

Lore:White-Gold Concordat - UESPWiki

The White-Gold Concordat was a treaty signed in 4E 175 between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion that ended the Great War. The conditions of the treaty outlawed the worship of Talos in the Empire, formally disbanded the Blades, and delivered a large portion of southern Hammerfell into the control of the Aldmeri Dominion.

Do you see a single thing that favors the Empire or any reparations for the Dominion being the aggressor?

Cos I don't.

I see a treaty that bought a lot of time for the Empire is what I see. Yes, the treaty was weighted towards the Dominion despite them being the aggressor, but the treaty did what the Emperor really wanted it to do. And that was buy time for them to recover.

Didn't think you could do it, and you proved me right. You provided the evidence, but you failed to exploit it properly. You should brush up on your debate skills before participating here, because you keep getting put down for being wrong. Once you're a better debater, you'll stand a chance here.

I'm going now because of school. See you in about eight hours.

What "weighted towards the Dominion"? What? It's all demands by the Dominion, the Empire simply doesn't have a saying unless you count that the treaty would stop the war. But it also makes a sovereign country follow orders from another country for no reason. And that is simply being controlled and ordered around. Nothing more. And they know it, you think people close to the emperor would want his assassination if he was doing the best for the Empire? You think they don't see they are being controlled from outside?? Why do you think Hammerfell rejected that treaty again? Why do you think the nords rebelled again?

Debate skills? Put down cos I'm wrong?? Lmao, go to school and pay attention in history classes, please.
