Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Well, Hadvar clearly isn't happy about it, but orders are orders. And when all hell breaks loose, he does everything to help you. I personally look at him and Rikke as the best of the Legion.

Maybe, but how did that captain get that job, did she just say "these people need an authority figure over here" and walk over there? I doubt it. Plus if you listen to Tulius, he sounds Sarcastic when you meet him again in Solitude as he says that your execution was a mistake. Another poor reflection on my opinion of the legion when it's leaders do not seem to sincerely care. Same thing with the stormcloaks, Ulfric does not seem to care about you nearly getting your head cut off. There is a Civil War going on, why should he care about some stranger?

Gotta love that Tullius sarcastic remark about how you being imprisoned was a "terrible" mistake. What kind of garbage is the Empire bringing to Skyrim anyways? And in fact that their legionaries are murdering families on top of it.
Are you SERIOUS?

The Legion doesn't just patrol around 'murdering families.' They're the entire reason Skyrim isn't being ruled over by Elves, dumbass. The 'honorable hero' Ulfric Stormcloak would very well be dead right now if it weren't for the oh-so-evil Empire.

They aren't enslaving anybody. They did what needed to be done to protect everybody they could. If you had to choose between a life of enslavement, or a protected, safe, life where you couldn't worship your god while screaming about him on the streets? which would you choose?

So, in conclusion, the 'garbage' the Empire is bringing to Skyrim is the safety of many, many people, the peace to rebuild, and the best chance against the Dominion. Stop hiding behind your stupid worthless arguments about 'honor' and 'freedom' and look at actual facts. Your arguments suck.

Both sides bring good arguments, it's all a matter of which benefits you find better. If there was a faction that offered both, you all would be siding with that one.

So, let's see if I've got this straight...

It's okay that the Stormcloaks didn't acknowledge that you weren't with them in any fashion, which would ultimately have lead to your untimely death...because they "didn't know you".

The Legionnaires immediately present in Skyrim also "didn't know you", and that too was going to lead to your untimely death.

But it's okay about the Stormies, guys. Pay no attention to any of their racist supporters either. They have absolutely nothing to do with anything. Nevermind anything you see in Windhelm for that matter. At least they're not a Legion composed of very many people from across Tamriel that had a rotten officer in an unfortunate place of power - because such a thing is totally unheard of. Pretty sure the entire Legion's unforgivable.

See how much of a slippery slope this is? Really, guys, there are more substantive arguments to be made for supporting the rebellion than 'the Legion [one captain thereof] tried to kill me'. Janus needs to bring his great meme for it out again. :D

Bottom line: If you're going to be against framing a faction by individuals, then do it for both sides. Otherwise you rapidly lose any credibility you had going into it. Mere debater's logic here.

Ulfric reflects poorly on his faction because of his "Take my axe to Balgruuf" thing. But that captain give a bad first impression of the legion. If she is like that, who else would be more than willing to kill an innocent?

One good thing about both sides, though, is that neither side kills any jarls. Game play or likely lore.

Skyrim isn't set in the 21st century. I'm sorry they didn't put you on a plane and fly you to the Skyrim Supreme Court and give you a fair trial, then execute you by lethal injection.

Never said that, just that the fact that you are not on the list SHOULD have pointed the captain to let you go, or at least talk to Tulius about it, because it would reflect badly on the legion. But you defend her choice to kill an innocent anyways, because of the fact that the character got caught alongside Stormcloaks and thus she could have thought that we were with them. Says something about the legion doesn't it?

No, it says that the Officer was bad. (You get to kill her anyway.)

Oh, hmm, a United States Congressman who was Republican went to Uganda to push Ugandan Parliament to include the death penalty for gays... SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE UNITED STATES, DOESN'T IT??

Does not mean you should not be wary of the rest of them either...and you do not kill her if you side with Hadvar, so that issue is somewhat unresolved on that path.

Okay, so I guess you're just as ignorant as I thought you were. That is not reason at all. "A black guy beat me up... I'm just gonna be wary of black people now."

I do not know any of those soldiers besides Hadvar, I can trust him, but not the rest of them.

So now you're saying that being on one side is about the people you fight alongside? Then why support the Stormcloaks, if they're racist?

Not saying that at all. It is like hanging out with a police officer. I would watch them If I do not know them, simply because I do not know them, he/she could be corrupt for all I know.

Same here, if I join a side, I will, but will keep watch for signs of corruption.

Cuz their fighting for their land and freedom from some punk Elves and Imperials with the AD's hand up their butts pupetteering them to their bidding. Helping the Imperial cause Maaay be the better logical option but the Stormcloak cause is where its at.

Except the Stormcloaks are more corrupt than the Legion. We've spent this entire thread arguing points to people like you, who just keep ignoring, staying away for a few pages, then returning with the same stupid plops. You asked for clear reasons to join a side, we gave them to you, then you said they weren't good enough. You obviously support the Stormcloaks, but you're taking a neutral stance as an opportunity to argue your terrible logistically flawed points.

It's hard to take you seriously if you don't have any understanding of the White Gold Concordant, the Battle of the Red Ring, the Aldmeri Dominion, and Ulfric Stormcloak himself.

First off, RELAX. Second, I clearly stated the Imperial cause is probably whats best for Skyrim but honestly? I dont take the imp./sc battle serious at all, there both FOS but I lean more towards the stormcloaks reason for fighting is all. N please explain whats flawed about fighting for your freedom from some invading punks like the AD? You must be a conquistador lover hahahaha
