Is it me or is Nightingale armor useless?

Apart from the boots the rest of the armor i don't see useful, gloves are not that good and the helmet has only a little illusion boost. The chest piece stats itself i think can just be replaced by 50 points carrying of the thieves guild armor.

I only wear it because it looks badass but i replace some items with krosis, shrouded gloves and thieves guild master armor. And i hate thieves, i roleplay my assassin to regret thievery and to go against the thieves guild itself.

But back to the main point, what do you think of the nightingale armor?

Pretty much the same thing you do. I always try to get it 1st thing when I'm playing a Khajit (particularly a female one). I think it just looks great. I can make up for it's weaknesses with sneak ability and other enchantments.

As a Mage, the only thing I have her wearing is the High-end Destruction Robe, double-enchanted Vamp gauntlets and boots, with double enchanted ring and necklace.

It makes for a nice decoration in one of my homes. It also comes in handy for when I feel like acting like a caped super-hero.

Tbh I don't think they put a lot of time into most of the vanilla armour.I'm usually going around in my blackguard armour.

I really don't like the nightengale armor. I only ever used it once for roleplaying purposes and ever since it literally goes straight on a mannequin. The enchantments are horrible, and it's not even worth it to have the ONLY cape in the game.

I love the Nightingale armour and always wear it, maxed out of course. But I do change the gloves and shroud for any good archery enchanted armour I find. I like the ancient DB shroud with it's 35% archery.
I think the nightingale armour looks hot on girls. Not so much the men... I thought Brynjolf looked kinda funny in it

Well people only wear it so they can be dark shadow assassins of doom. Although I see nothing wrong with assassinating people with a battleaxe and a set of orcish armor.

Totally agree as far as its usefulness goes, the only nightingale armor piece i wear sometimes is the hood, cuz like u said it just looks badass! When i'm using a mage character my favorite combination is the nightingale hood with necromancer robes, makes u look evil as hell! Although u won't have plops for armor percentage. lol

Hey. Nobody said you had to be silent or hidden to assassinate someone. It's just the way the DB does it. Whenever i'm supposed to assassinate somebody outside the DB I usually just walk up and stab 'em (public or not) and pay off any bounty I may incur. Love how easy it is to get away w/murder in SR!

Woah, woah, woah! There is also the hammerfell garb and the vampire royal armor! And the first one can be enchanted as you please!

Well i'm still going to wear nightingale armor and enchated archery ring and necklace because i killed the dark brotherhood because they're evil, thieves guild aren't evil because they don't hurt or kill innocent people, they're more of a nuisance.

Plus the dark brotherhood armor is fugly, pug ugly and ugly ugly.

Muffled Boots, 50% Frost Resist, +50 Fortify Stamina, +25% One-Handed Damage and 17% Illusion cost reduction.

How are these enchantments terrible?

It looks okay on some of the female characters, but, on a big beefy guy it just looks like stripper garb or a superhero outfit.

It's funny really. I really like the look of the Nordic Carved armor, but it looks kind of bulky and dumb on a dude. On my female character it looked kicka** though. Just the opposite for the Wolf Armor. I wonder if they designed it that way.
