Just bought Skyrim for PC!

After a year and a half long jealousy of PC gamer's having access to mods while I was stuck with the vanilla game on 360, I finally made the biggest purchase in my gaming career....Skyrim on PC!

Its downloading on Steam right now with an estimated download time of a little over 3 hours. I'm planning on using that time to filter through all the mods I had saved in anticipation for this day and gathering the top 5 I want to have before I even begin playing.

Since I'm switching over from the 360 to PC, is there any differences, other than mods, that I should be aware of? Also, any mod recommendations to improve gameplay? I don't have the greatest graphics card, so I will most likely be running on low to medium graphics (found a youtube video of a guy playing on same specs as I have other than my RAM being higher and its by far better than I expected), but all my other stats match or succeed the recommended. Are their mods to enhance gameplay on low settings?

Also, since its being downloaded from Steam do I need to be connected to the internet to play? This is my first time downloading a game from Steam.

The most major difference (to me anyway) is combat. It is so much easier to fight on PC, not to mention aiming of any kind. And no, you don't have to have an internet connection if Steam is on offline mode. You really don't need a mod to enhance gameplay in my opinion. Low settings in Skyrim aren't much of a handicap at all.

I've only been able to play for about a half hour so far, but I'm already real impressed. It is slightly laggy, but again I expected that coming into it. But the loading is nearly 10x as fast as my xbox. I've only really downloaded mods that effected the initial character creation (alternate start, race menu, dwemer beards etc), but I can't wait to really get into the mods and see everything out there.

My computer can only just run Spore on Low graphics. I hope Morrowind will work on this computer though.

I have enough computer to run on high settings, but only use it for photography. I still choose to play on a PS3 to be able to recline in the living room and play on a 65" HD TV.

Probably a good choice. My weekend Skyrim PC is my weekday photo PC, with a calibrated IPS panel. It loses framerate a bit from a comparable TN panel, and the calibration seems to make the game darker than it should be. At in-game night, I'm basically looking at a pure black screen unless I crank brightness all the way up, in which case in-game day is super washed out. I deal though, since I simply can't justify another computer, or even another screen, just for occasional gaming.
