Loss of interest in Skyrim.

So, I haven't been on Skyrim for around a month or two now. I'm officially just... bored with it now. For any who don't know, I received Skyrim on the 10th November 2011, a day before release so I was one of the first ones to experience the game. I completed all quest lines including most misc around a month later. I've gone through many different builds and approaches to the game and I think I've generally just got fed up with it.

I just remembered the feeling of actually getting the game suprisingly on the 10th, and a rush of excitement and amazement went through me as I placed it on my PS3 and begun to play. I haven't felt anything like that since November :(.

I still like to discuss Skyrim, as I can share all my knowledge to those who are enjoying the game and to those who have just got it.

I'll probably go back on it one day in the future to make another random build but not for a while yet.

How is every one else enjoying Skyrim? :)

Im bored with it as well. Mainly becasue as all in the ShoutBox know my main quest line is gimped therefor the game can not be finished. i know TONS of other crap to do i get that.. but it pisses me off so much that the main quest line is even gimpable at all.

I'm bored too, with it. Mainly because I have completed the main quest lines and there's nothing that seems fun to do now. Time to play Forza.

  • Star Wars: The Old Republic (on a daily basis)
  • Aion (weekly)
  • Dragon Age (sometimes)
  • Dragon Age II (need to complete I first)
and then loads of other shizz'.
TOO MUCH ST00F TO DOOOOOOO

:( DA 2 sucks donkey balls... seriously... no more warden.

DA is amazing my favorite game ever

I take breaks with it. Play on it for about a week, then switch to another game for about another week or two. So when I come back to Skyrim, there's still plenty to do with my various characters.

I have played since day 1. I'm still hooked. I play daily. I'm about to go play now.

I'm surprised that Skyrim held my interests for so long w/ so many INCREDIBLE titles that have come out over the past 6-7 months. I need to make my peace with this game soon, so I can move on. I got my copy of Street Fighter X Tekken early and I want to focus on that and maybe get back to Forza 4 as well. Rival mode is a helluva drug.

I always enjoyed Elder Scrolls ( among my favorite RPG franchises), but something about this game really connected with me. Oblivion was great, Morrowind I loved, but Skyrim might be my favorite ES game RPG of all time. More than BG1, Ultima 4, FF series, etc. I find it difficult to believe I could hold such a flawed game above the other titles, but I do.

I began playing skyrim on a whim about a week after it was released. I'm 170+ hours in with the same character and I'm still having fun. I recently exploited the restoration potion glitch and now its really fun. The thing is, I didnt level up my weapons to one-hit everything ( well with the exception of my bow), I just made incredibly strong sneak boots (like sum-thousand %) strong pickpocket ring and strong lockpicking ring. I was mainly a warrior but now I can sneak and pick pocket like a pro, and master locks, forget it. One lockpick for the rest of the game. I also have infinite carry wieght numbers and infinite stamina. It opens up a new play stlye without having to spend a bunch of perks on sneak and pick pocket skills. also, it always sucked to run out of stamina when I was running. Not any more. I usually set a place marker and travel on foot to where it is I wanna go. I almost always run into something interesting along the way. Cant wait for dlc.

I've played since the first day it came out. I'm still addicted to it. However, I'm noticing that I'm burning out on ideas for character builds pretty damn fast. I went through several phases where I just stopped at a really low level because it was boring me. I guess the only thing that's kept me hooked to it was when I finally messed with certain builds that were enjoyable. Pretty soon, I'll start back on Borderlands to prepare myself for the second installment in the series.

I've really not got enough money at the moment to buy games constantly, so I'll have to play Skyrim for a little while longer, but I still sometimes entertain myself with my older games.

I've been playing since the release date and still going strong. I bought Zelda: Skyward Sword around the same time and have yet to open the box. There are still some races and builds I want to play with. My latest character has over 322 hours alone and I've had at least 6 or 7 others.

It's getting easier to stop and take breaks though.

I didnt get it until christmas, and Im still going strong, for the most part. I wouldnt say Im starting to get bored with it, its just that theres not much left for me to do. Im probably gonna do the civil war questline, then set the game down and start playing Assassin's Creed.

Sometimes I think the fact that I can't play as often as I want...is a good thing. Skyrim isn't a game you should race to finish. Take your time, read some books, explore some areas, stay off the wiki/spoiler sights, and definafely do NOT try and min/max.

All those things take away the immersion of the game. It's natural, most games have always been set up for "level, quest, level, quest, main final boss, solve game." Skyrim is not set up that way and IMO shouldn't be played that way.

On and off player last few weeks. Still working on the thieves guild quest on my main toon, and some days a play my hardcore (1 life) character to change it up. But like others on here I mix it up with other games too.

Play a level 46 Jedi Sage in SWTOR (active account)
Got an email from blizzard to come back for 7 days, so I rolled a new Tauren Paladin in WOW.
UFC Undisputed 3 for PS3, working to get the title belt... (26-5-0, 26 KO's)
Test out new updates in Diablo 3 BETA :p

I'm addicted to Batman: Arkham City right now. Kind of getting bored with Skyrim, but will probably go back to it just to relax because Batman though exciting has all the elements of a frustrating game, such as timed missions, bosses with three different stages, each more difficult than the last, in order to beat them and no such thing as health potions, restoration spells, or the option to save whenever you want, LOL. Skyrim has spoiled me.

Agreed, Dragon Age 2 should've been called Dragon Age - Kirkwall. It was truly disappointing. How many times can the same city districts and dungeons be repeated? It's like the developers were going after some sort of world record, "let's try and force the player into the same dungeon or one that is copy-pasted from the same dungeon as many times as we can, yay!".
I liked some elements of Dragon Age 1 including the storyline and challenging combat (almost frustrating on normal difficulty at the lower levels), but all in all it didn't feel that memorable, not even close to Skyrim, the Baldur's Gate trilogy etc. Still, it was vastly superior to its sequel.

I've felt a bit of a "burn out" with Skyrim lately, too. I think in my case that has been because I'm still not satisfied with the technical performance of the game. It degenerated into a near unplayable mess yet again. The only possible reason for that which comes to mind is the new patch which was applied without me realizing it.
I've reinstalled the game and reworked the ini files and it's not unplayable any longer, but it's still a far cry from optimal. I simply HATE how the game skips frames and gets jerky in most outdoor areas, especially when running. This has nothing to do with framerates, btw: it happens even when the FPS is at 60. And I'm tired of the flashing textures, especially in the distant mountains. This is a known issue radeon cards have with the Gamebryo engine, and its souped-up big brother, Skyrim's engine, shares the exact same problems. Jerky running and graphical glitches which cannot be solved through patching, updating drivers, tweaking ini settings etc. Ever since getting Skyrim I've wondered many times why I didn't get a Geforce instead of my Radeon 6870 when I last updated my computer, which was about a year ago.

All that being said, I'm trying to enjoy the game and at least finish the main story line before calling it quits.

Got the game, loved it, then got bored. After a pair of months on BF3, going back to Skyrim is refreshing. Going to builds I don't know, taking my time, using some mods like the ones making use of food and water.
Rushing a game is the surest way to kill the feeling and being bored fast

I get bored with Skyrim sometimes too and take about a weeks break from it, usually when I go away for the weekends. Usually I play when my back is killing me (most of the time) and I can't move (most of the time) so I can entertain myself.

I find when I run out of quests that I find interesting I step away for awhile, come back and am just as vigorous as playing as ever. Honestly, I'm not even considering buying a new video game until I get REALLY bored with this one.

Well...I've had it since release day, finished the main quest about a month ago but aside from the first few tasks in the Mages Guild quests and the very first one in the Thieves Guild thing I haven't even gotten to any of the guild stuff, nor the Companions stuff, NOR the Civil War thing except where it intersected with the main quest to get Dragonrend. I'm still on my canon character and can probably still be claiming much of the same thing this summer. No boredom yet. When things even flirted with seeming routine I simply installed one of the War mods and overhauled the lighting so half the game is now played in near pitch blackness without torches or spells and difficulty increased threefold immediately.

Add in never fast traveling and it's a small celebration every time Dr. D'Irsei makes it from one city and appointment to another intact. Not that dental work isn't getting done on time, but there are far more patients to deal with at once and it seems like someone is jumping in during every appointment!.
