Mage Thief Magicka Help?

I plan on making a character just to dick around and steal stuff, and I was wondering what the optimal Magicka level would be for someone who wants to be able to use invisibility, telekinesis, and detect life frequently. I would take the adept alteration and expert illusion perks. Illusion costs 334 normally, now 167. Alteration would become 85, and detect life 50. The only open equipment slot would be ring and possibly necklace, and my enchanting wont be getting any perks. Is 300 with magicka regen from restoration perks enough?

300 should be fine as long as you have a decent magicka regen.

300 will be plenty. 200 might even be enough.

Another alternative would be to gather enough cost reduction through enchanting to get up to two schools to 0 cost, although I don't remember if it can be enough with 0 perks in enchanting.. And besides, using spells freely like that, it kinds of feel like cheating.

Otherwise, 200 - 300 is more than enough for that school, for any school that doesn't require you to spam like hell.
