Every single playthrough, without fail, that glowing thing ends up in my inventory and I have to either do the quest or live with it sitting there mocking me. You can't sell it, you can't drop it permanently, it just... haunts you.
And the quest itself? Go to a dungeon, kill some undead, get a sword that's only good against undead. The Dawnbreaker is fine I guess but it's not worth the psychological warfare of carrying that beacon around for 40 hours beforehand.
What gets me is that it's the only daedric artifact quest that just forces itself on you. The others at least have the decency to wait until you seek them out. This one's like "hey remember that time you looted a random ruin? surprise, now you're obligated." I respect the passive-aggressive energy but it drives me nuts.
Does anyone actually keep the Dawnbreaker on a playthrough or do you all just speedrun the quest to get it out of your inventory?
