Ranger guild?

Mr.Self Destruct

Chosen Undead
The issue with making a morally obligated character centered around archery or sneak is that the only factions that cater to your play style are The Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild. I think Bethesda should incorporate a rangers guild of some kind, a faction operating out of the wilderness and fighting for good.

The closest to this is the Companions... and yet it's not even close at the same time. It's the Shield Siblings that prevent this option from being entirely possible.

Yeah, I was literally thinking about this a few days ago. A sort of archery guild?

That would be a nice idea for a mod... or DLC.
Issue is, what would the guild be called and what would they do?

Honestly they need several more guilds. One to counter every one of the ones they currently have so that you have the choice to be good or evil or both. I personally dislike having to do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild for my sneak skill enhancement. Hence the reason I leave them alone and just do my own thing. But it would be nice to be able to have a set of factions that you could use those skills to go against the dark guilds. I will wait on them to fix the game properly first so I can play without random problems or unfinishable quests.

... what would they do?

That was my initial question when I first read this topic also. Maybe some sort of Hunter's Alliance? Feed the hungry? It's a shame that I kill an 800 pound bear and all that I can take from it are some claws and it's pelt.

People will eat Skeever and not Bear?!

I think that could be cool. Very enigmatic and mysterious.

PS, what is with all the purple names now? I have not been on lately. Did I miss something?

I suppose you could always steal a few gems and then slip them into unsuspecting beggar's pockets? No reward in the game of course, but could be quite fun.

Skyrim needs more factions, yes, but first I'd like to see the existing ones made better. They all kind of suck. The Thieves Guild questline was the best, but it wasn't based mostly on the guild, rather, the Nightingales.

The the DBH was just mainly the same thing: Get contract(s), kill them, go back, get contracts, etc. Boring and repetitive as hell. Not to mention it felt extremely shallow, predictable, extremely WTF worthy, and the characters for the guild felt the same.

The Companions questline was short and shallow, and the quests you get after it are, for the most part, suffering from the same issue as the DBH did for its entirety and what the Thieves Guild suffered from after completing the main thing: easy and unoriginal quests that drag you all over Skyrim for one little thing, then all the way back to headquarters.

The Blades suffers from a lack of choices right off the bat. Kill Paarthurnax. That's it. You can't even say "no, F you."

Oh, and the Civil War questline (Imperial/Stormcloak faction) had the same issues: short, repetitive, unoriginal, boring, and, unlike most of the others, horribly easy.

The purple powers are article writers. Check the front page.

I was thinking of Hunter Guild. You would join by A) Meeting a group of Hunters out in the Wilds and join them and Hunt with them and find that their in a guild and your invited by them and B) A couple of Hunters in Whiterun or any major city ect come in to sell goods and you could ask them to go on a Hunting mission and get invited. There would be no main guild base but different large Hunting areas in each Hold that offers Hunting Missions where you have to hunt and sell your goods to town. I.E The Hunting leader in Eastmarch say's there is a shortage of Pelt for Windhelm and other settlements in the pelts and meat and sell them to the Market. And it would be mostly a Archer based Guild. Recommended for Archers and Rangers.

Off the top of my head.

This sounds amazing! I'm so single minded with archery, I'm still on my first character who is archer/thief type that I dot even intend on using anything else. My philosophy is repeat and perfect! Archery FTW!

"favour the bow eh? I'm a sword man myself"

*slight pause

"Well my ex-adventurer friend, if I saw you reach for that rusty jabber it would be the last thing you did"

The next DLC should be about the forsworn. You can help them, or put an end to the uprising once and for all. Maybe even mend their relations with the empire.

Honestly the next gen consoles will probably give us the option to explore all of Tamriel.

And I honestly don't want an entire game set in say Black Marsh or Elsewyr. Just dlc.
