Xbox 360 Skyrim doesn't work

I've had my 360 for about 3 years now, so this may be a console issue, but for the last three weeks my xbox stopped working when I put in skyrim, making the game and console really laggy, even to the extent of the xbox not even making it to the menu at times. I cleared the cache, deleted corrupt filed, even formatted. Still it wasn't working.

Then it stopped working altogether. I turned it on, and when it got to the menu my profile wasn't there ( I downloaded my online profile.) So it's been like that for three weeks. Then yesterday I gave up all hope of Skyrim, or any other of my games ever working again. I went to go get the pc version with my cousin. However i forgot to check my computers graphics card, and got a voucher instead, so the next time I could get some money off. My cousin bough a CoD game (not sure which one) when we got home he put it in and it worked FINE!

Someone please tell me what is going on because I am so ANNOYED! I know I was stupid to trade it without checking but please give me a serious answer. Thanks!

Have you called xbox live? there very good about helping you figure out why its not working properly and its free, here is there phone number 1-800-469-9269

It may be a virus. Do to the Xbox 360 being so closely based on Windows there are a few rare viruses for Xbox out there.

ahh i totally forgot about that can happen on consoles lol

Xbox 360 wasn't the best thought out console. To easy to hack and to make viruses for. And not enough updates to stay a step ahead.

A lot of people have had problems with lag if they have had too many save files (myself included). I deleted a few of the characters and autosaves I wasn't using, and the lag situation improved a lot.
