Open The Bannered Mare Tavern

((I'll make the thread for this.))

Xxaga nodded, noticing that the young man had nearly spilled his ale. "I need to pay a visit to Adrienne. Meet me outside of the Cairn. Just head northeast when you get out of Whiterun. It's a stone structure jutting from the ground. You can't miss it." She got up, and left the Bannered Mare. She'd heard about the fight that preceded her arrival, and felt that taverns were not the place for a fight. The yard behind Jorrvaskr was an excellent place to settle disputes. For now, she headed to her usual blacksmith, and good friend, Adrienne Avennici.

As the mage entered the tavern, he let down his hood revealing dirt and grime from traveling so far from the college. "Excuse me m'lady," he said walking up to the barmaid, "may I have some ale and bread? Also any info of nearby jobs anywhere?" the barmaid nodded and went about gathering the items.

"I don't know of any jobs available at the moment," the barmaid said setting the ale and bread at the table, "But if your looking for immediate coin, I pay five septims for every log of cut wood."

The Breton nodded, setting down the septims for his meal. "Thanks anyway, m'lady." Taking his items, he walked towards the nearest table, sat down and took out a quill and parchment, writing his parents in nearby Riverwood. 'A shame I won't have time to go see them' he thought, for he was on his way to retrieve an item he had discovered the location of while studying in the Arcaneum.

'Good day, brother'
Ysarth eyed the gold braiding on the black cloak that hung on the high elf across form him, which was typical of the Thalmor but this particular Altmer showed no pride in his uniform, rather a sense of darkness and hate.
What caught most of Ysarth's attention was the Altmer's unusually pale skin. Winterhold did not pose much sun but even that would not make a man look so white.
'I am blessed to see some of my own kin tonight. Astharah, andin.'
Ysarth set his arm down, apple in hand and shifted his weight to sit more upright.
'So many strangers I passed on my way in, today and I have been warned of seedy characters in the hold. Now, I am greeted by a fellow high elf of a very powerful and very far order.' he grinned, 'Need I ask if I should be concerned?'

Salthar smiled thinly at the elf. "There is always cause for concern when men butcher each other like beasts" he replied. "However, today, I come only to rest my feet, for my road has been long and perilous" he assured the other elf. While he spoke, he scanned the room, wondering which of the patrons would make an ideal target for his blood lust.
"The fact that I stumbled across another elf is an unexpected, but pleasant boon"

'That is why round-ears can never be honourable in battle, brother.'
Ysarth pushed the bowl forward, gesturing at it.
'Please, do take if you so wish.'
Ysarth could relate to the weariness of the other Altmer, however his was of unadventure, of lacking truths he sought. He was tired for there was no more energy within his urge to exist and he would rather just be.

"Indeed..I often find myself wondering at the concept of honour, especially here..in Skyrim I mean"
Salthar politely declined the food with a motion of his hand.
His mind had turned to the death of his wife at the hands of Nords, nearly a decade ago. Sneering, he turned away from the table so to not offend his elven companion with his unseemly display of negative emotion.
"In fact, I wonder as to why they cling to their notion of honour while slaughtering the innocent..." he said, his tone turning dark and cold.

'There are few who fight with honour. I have seen it. But these, that lurk in the bottoms of wet tankards, know very little of honour and pride in battle.'
Ysarth brought the bowl closer to himself and retrieved another apple. While talking to the other elf dressed in Thalmor uniform, he noticed a mage enter the tavern; knowing it to be a mage without looking by simply the smell of unnatural magic. Unclean magic.
He looked at the elf across from him.
'From what part of Skyrim do you come, friend?'

Salthar nodded in agreement. The Altmer vampire tensed as he noticed another mage enter the tavern, but otherwise made no outward acknowledgment of his presence. "My brother and I moved to Skyrim from Cyrodiil, after the great war. I used to live near Falkreath, where I met my wife. A Thalmor justiciar who was travelling through the area." He smiled at their first meeting, he a robed magic weilder, she, a gold armoured Justiciar wielding an elven blade. He'd assisted her and her patrol in a battle against a large number of bandits. They'd married and moved to Falkreath after a few more 'chance' meetings.

Ysarth smiled knowing that this elf had a past he knew of and a future he was certain of. He turned to scan the room, away from the other elf's visage, thinking of his own past which he knew almost nothing about. He knew not his parents but only of waking up in the wild as a young boy, growing up with the wolves and trees.
Ysarth noticed the mage who had recently entered the tavern. He looked dirty and weary and was writing on paper, the quill tip scratching into it.
The smell of food and mead was thick in the air which made breathing difficult for Ysarth as his lungs were accustomed to the fresh air of the wild world outside. The tavern felt almost as confinement would.
He said not a word further but pulled out a cloth instead and began wiping the golden armour of his elven gauntlets.

Salthar frowned at the mage. He oozed a sense of...wrongness. The high elf found himself growing uneasy, and slid a hand down to wrap around the hilt of his ebony sword. "My friend...who is that mage?" He asked his companion who was wiping down his gauntlets. "He exudes a sense of...wrongness" he knew he sounded paranoid, but being a sorcerer of no small power himself, he knew when something was very...wrong.

'I am not sure myself but magic and men should not co-exist.'
Ysarth eyed the mage for a while before turning back to face his elven friend.
'Strange characters have been here tonight and there is talk of an assassin guild that has members here in Whiterun, so tonight we must ears of wolves and eyes of dragons.'

Salthar nodded, agreeing completely with his brother elves words. " I understand...I doubt any assassins would have an easy time going after you or me... I'm, sure we can handle them" He said this in a low enough voice that any potential enemies would be unable to hear, but the sharp elven ears of his companion could. To be honest, Salthar was more worried about the mage...he'd seen horrible feats of magic during his time in the Thalmor and while in Skyrim. The mage wouldn't pose much of a threat to him personally, but if the man was as insane as most humans that dabbled in the arcane arts were...they could have a problem.

Jared finished his letter, putting away both quill and note. 'I'll have to find a courier' Jared thought. He gave a small sigh at this. He had coin to spare, but most of it was back in his room at the College. He looked over at the two elves who were talking. They were staring at him rather intently, though that might just be him being paranoid.

Jared was tired and grimy and wanted to clean up and rest. Instead, he pulled out his map planning his next trip. The treasure he learned of was in a place called Rebels Cairn, but in order to get the treasure within, he needed Red Eagles sword which, unfortunatley, was in the hands of the forsworn at the Sundered Towers.

'Divines help me.'

((Man, the Bee and Barb thread is inactive. I'll bring the character I introduced there to this one instead.))

Suddenly, from not too far from where Jared was sitting, pouring over his maps, a heavily accented voice that could only belong to a female Khajiit sounded, obviously addressing him. "You look like someone who found something of great value. Lai'Quir is correct, is she not?"

Jared looked over to the voice, finding a female Kajhit. 'Maybe she can help.'

"Well, I have found something, a couple things actually." Jared idly wondered if he could even trust her. "First though, tell me your name. Mine is Jared Highwind."

(nobodys replying so im going to join in)
As Drapor walked into the bannerd mare he saw a kahjit and a breton talking "this is unusual" he muttered he decided to go and listen in he took the seat behind them and listened in hopping to not get caught HINT HINT.

Ysarth smiled at the other elf's gesture of the sense of invincibility of elves.
'Brother, I am to introduce myself to you. I apologise for being rude in not doing so.'
At that moment, a half-beast entered the tavern and the raspy, cool voice of a khajit was unmistakable. Ysarth turned to the half-beast and eyed her, for he could tell by the pitch of the voice, walking over to the mage who had just finished his script.
He also eyed the room for possible assassins, which he could determine by reclusive behavior or uninviting armour, but he saw none and so he returned to the pale face of his fellow Altmer.

hearing nothing of interest he walked over to the 2 elves by the fire "hello fellow elves, may i sit here?" looking at the seat beside them.
