18+ The Hunt

Aden sucked in a long breath between his teeth as he read Jessicas 'report'. Her condition was worse than he'd feared and he suspected that her mental health wasn't all that great either, judging by her closing statement. He figured she was still dealing with the stresses of her confinement and she was probably half delirious. She wasn't in any state of mind to be making a judgement call like that. Giving her a serious, concerned look, he said, "Look kid... I mean, Jessica, you've had a pretty rough go. This isn't the time to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life. And take it from someone who knows, you don't want to be like me. Killing isn't something I do because I enjoy it. And honestly, most of the bounties I take are capture only. They pay better." He sighed again as she slumped forward a little and her eyes defocused for a second. It was obvious she was beyond exhausted. Reaching over to a shelf near the door, he grabbed a blanket and held it out to her. "Look, how about you get some rest. It'd do you good. I have to get back to the meeting you interrupted. When I get back we can discuss whether you can tag along or not. Maybe I'll show you the ropes and you can decide if bounty hunting really is something you want to do. Deal?"

Galen frowned at the droid, then at the bounty hunter as he swooped in, grabbed the naked woman, and left, back into the frigid air that made up most of Cyris' atmosphere. The ex-cop kept his pistol trained on the droid, guessing that it wasn't half as harmless or 'docile' as it made itself out to be. The Khajiit womans' voice reached him, and he scowled at the mocking tone. But, he holstered his pistol, and turned to the rest of the room, keeping track of the droid in his peripheral vision.

He turned on his heel, and felt a smile come to his face as he spotted Derek, his old friend from Shadow Station. He approached, grinning broadly, and took a seat at their table, nodding to the redguard and the young Imperial that wore the same armour, and seemed very protective of the man. "Derek! Long time no see. I hope you've been well?"

Jessica nodded and shook Marek's hand to seal the agreement. She had surprised even herself with that proclamation of bounty hunting and it scared her. How screwed up had she gotten that she wanted to start killing people for a living? That wasn't her. La'ara would be ashamed of her, as would Vex, her parents provided they were still alive and Griffith. She cleared the current writing on the pad and thought out a new sentence. It took a little less time to get her thoughts organized this time around.

Thank you Aden. I...maybe you're right. I don't know why I said that last part. Such thoughts scare me. Maybe I'll feel better after I've gotten some rest. I would like to tag along with you. If there's a group hunting both Imperial and Dominion citizens for fun and profit than they need to be stopped. You should get back to your meeting. I'm sorry I interrupted.

She then gave him a grateful hug.

Would you mind getting my gear while you're out? As much as I love running around naked it draws a lot of oogling if you know what I mean.

She smiled and gave him a sly wink.

Derek grinned at the ex-law enforcement man, shaking his hand. "Kyle and I have been doing well. There's never any shortages of proper bounties. Not now that the war has started." He looked the man over, wondering what had brought him from Shadow Station. More specifically, what had brought him to a tapcaf in Cyris. "Are you in trouble?"Derek noticed that Kyle was watching the exchange with careful neutrality. The younger man hadn't met Galen before now. He decided to fill the man in later. Glancing away from Kyle and Galen for a moment, he noticed that the contact still hadn't arrived. Which was just weird, and worse, tempers wee starting to fray, the Breton in the pale silver armour, specifically. 'I just hope no one is impatient enough to start a firefight...'

Galen grinned as the man shook his hand, and informed him that both he and Kyle were doing good. He assumed that Kyle was the younger Imperial bounty hunter sitting beside the Redguard. "Are you in trouble?" Galen could see why the bounty hunter would ask that question. He'd made his intention to stay on Shadow Station clear, the last time they'd spoken. He shook his head, attempting to put his friends fears to rest. "Nothing worse than the usual. And a little low on credits. A contact of mine told me about this...ah, meeting of yours, and I decided to give bounty hunting a shot. Not much different than what I was doing on Shadow. Except I'll get paid, I guess"

He glanced around, noticing plenty of bounty hunters, but none of them looked like they had a set goal in mind. Which he found rather strange. Shrugging, he turned back to Derek and Kyle, and extended his hand towards the Imperial. "Don't believe we've met before. I'm Galen Marxus, and you must be Kyle"

Skylar tapped the table top impatiently, her nails making a series of quiet clacks on the hard surface. She glanced at her watch and rolled her eyes. The guild contact had yet to show himself and Aden was taking forever on his little errand. She wondered about the girl, Jessica for a moment. Aden had told her little about the kid, briefly relating that she seemed to be a loadstone for trouble and that she was a family friend of sorts. Skylar hadn't given it much thought at the time but after seeing the entrance made by the kid, she was sure she was the same Jessica Psyrakon that she'd heard about via Imperial Intelligence. The one that had killed off one of the Empires chief weapons contractors and scientists, Vladimir Mengsk. Not that he didn't deserve it anyway, demented bastard. She thought. Mengsk had been one of those characters that everybody knew was into some bad stuff, but nobody could do anything about. Legally anyway. So when the report of his death had come to the attention of the intelligence world, there had been more than a few snickers and demeaning remarks made. However, while most of the Imperial higher-ups had secretly enjoyed the news, Mengsk was still an imperial citizen and that meant that they couldn't let his death unpunished. A capture or kill order had been sent to all Imperial Agents for the perpetrator. This placed Skylar in a bit of a spot, seeing as she liked Aden and she knew he would protect Jessica. She decided she'd give the kid the benefit of the doubt for now.

She glanced around the tapcaf again, noticing that the huge droid-like creature and the other man by the door had moved off. The man was sitting at the same table as the two green clad men talking as though he knew them well. Skylar glanced over to the Khajiit sitting near the counter and sighed. Where the hell is he? The ship isn't that far away. She wasn't a bounty hunter and she figured that the ones in the room who were hunters were probably aware of that, or they at least suspected that she wasn't. She didn't want to end up being fingered as a threat, or worse, an Imperial Agent. They probably wouldn't take kindly to an agent of the law snooping around, even if she didn't have any intention of bothering them. The sooner Aden got back the better. Standing, she went over to the counter near the khajiit woman and ordered herself a large coffee. While she waited for her java, Skylar watched the woman out of the corner of her eye. She liked knowing as much as she could about people so that was just that much easier to manipulate them if she ever had too. Her observations didn't uncover anything of enormous use though. Grabbing her coffee from the waitress behind the counter, she returned to her seat, just in time for the tapcafs door to swing open and Aden to walk in again, this time with his helmet on.

He wasted no time sitting back at their table. She raised her eyebrow without looking at him and took a sip of her coffee before asking, "How'd it go then?"

"She'll live. She's asleep in the medbay for now. Haven't quite figured out what to do with her just yet but for now I'll keep an eye on her." Then he nodded towards the table where the two men in green armor were talking with the other man, "Has this party started yet or what?"

"Quiet so far. Things are kinda tense though. If that contact doesn't show soon, this could be a major bust."

Kyle extended his hand and shook, but before he could say anything to his adoptive fathers' friend, the doors to the tapcafe opened. A man walked in, but it was obvious he was no bounty hunter by the lack of weapons and armour on him. He simply wore the same cold weather clothing, a scarf covering the lower part of his jaw, and goggles protecting his eyes. Not only did the clothing protect his face from the cold, it also stymied any facial recognition software.

The man stopped in the doorway, taking in all of the assembled patrons, ignoring those that looked like they were regulars, and paying special attention to the hunters. Out of sheer habit, Derek put his helmet on, noticing Kyle doing the same. He also noticed that his partner had primed his gauntlet mounted railgun, and had his arm propped on the table, pointing in the general direction of the contact.

The man didn't pull out an astonishing amount of weapons, nor did he make any move towards the hunters. Instead, he walked to an abandoned table, and removed a small, circular device from one of his belt pouches. Then he turned in a slow circle, as if memorizing the faces, or armour colours of the assorted hunters. Then he turned and left. Derek found himself frowning. This was not proper contact procedure.

Which meant either the contact was new, or he wasn't part of the bounty hunters guild, which raised a whole bunch of other disturbing questions. The guild had set up the meet, and passed on the bounty. But, they'd been very shady about who it was that had posted it. The small device, obviously a holographic projector sat there, a small red light blinking at its' base.

Shrugging, Derek got up, followed by Galen and Kyle. The others crowded around the table as well, despite their obvious mistrust of one another, all of them were curious. Plus, whatever the message was, it most likely contained information on the target. No good hunter passed up information.

Derek reached out and activated the device, and watched as a mans form took shape. The hologram didn't include colour, so he was a uniform shade of light blue, but his physical aspects were still visible. He was tall, even if the hologram only had him half-sized, had broad shoulders, and a face that all but screamed of Imperial nobility. A long blade, probably some sort of energy weapon was at his left hip. On his fingers was a single ring, with a curious, diamond shaped stone.

He wore a long cloak, that fell to his ankles, and Derek guessed it cost more than his ship had. The mysterious noble had short hair, lines around his eyes, indicating age of perhaps late fifties to early sixties, and a neatly trimmed beard. The man inclined his head slightly, and them spoke in a deep, rich voice. "Greetings. I trust your trip to Cyris was not too unpleasant?" The way he spoke clued Derek and the others in to the fact that this was a recording. Not a live transmission.

"Either way, I hope you are still interested in my...proposition. You were called here because you are either the best the galaxy has to offer, or the most infamous." The man paused, then smiled, as if he was amused by something. "Ah, but enough teasing. I'm sure you are all interested in this bounty." The nobles image vanished, replaced by the head and shoulders of a woman.

She had shoulder length braided hair, a thin nose and mouth, and her face was marked in equal measure with what seemed to be tattoos of arcane symbols, and scars. Her eyes, although they were colourless in the hologram, held a cold intensity, almost as if they could see into a persons soul, and then rip it right out of their bodies. Derek guessed she was either an Imperial, or Breton. The nobles voice returned, "This is Kaylin Ataro. An...old acquaintance of mine. She is wanted dead or alive. The reward, is fifty million credits."

Derek felt his jaw drop. Fifty million creds could set someone up for life. The noble continued, as if he'd said nothing significant. As if fifty million credits wouldn't set him back in the least. "My sources indicate that she is currently on Eregin however, she is often surrounded by her men. A powerful mercenary and slaver band that operates out of Shadar. A planet known for its' less than sterling reputation. However, I strongly recommend you start on Eregin. Do be careful though: I hear that the planet is in yet another of its' civil wars"

"Finally," the man re-appeared. ",I understand that some of you are...less than team players. I offer a warning: Kaylin is not to be underestimated. She's a superb blade fighter, and magic user. I wish you luck on this expedition, and hope to hear from you on the completion of your task" the hologram disappeared, and the tapcafe was silent.

"Well...fifty million, huh?" Said Derek, simply to break the stunned silence.

Corvis watched the hologram with the others in silence, committing the bountys' profile to memory. He'd never heard of this 'Kaylin Ataro', nor did he recognize the man that was speaking, although it was obvious he was nobility of some kind. He sucked in a sharp gasp of air at the amount of credits the man was willing to pay. 'Fifty Million?' The Breton bounty hunter was pretty sure fifty million could buy him his own star destroyer. Or maybe a fleet of star destroyers. And their crews. The man went on to warn them about how dangerous Ataro was, especially to lone wolf-types. Like himself.

Corvis grimaced under his helmet. He'd never liked magic users, and this woman was no different, no matter how much she was worth. 'But hey, if it mean fifty mill, I'll happily work with these guys.' He decided. He turned to the rest of the group, wondering if they were as shell shocked as he'd been by the amount. "Well...fifty million, huh?" said one of the green armoured men, probably the older Redguard. "Yeah. Impressive. So, Eregin. Isn't that the planet that's always in a civil war?"

He left the group and went over his kit, leaning against the wall, and listening for further conversation that might pertain to the hunt.He didn't think he'd ever been in a partnership, nevermind a group with other bounty hunters. He glanced at the group. They still didn't seem to be finished thinking over the implications of the bounty. That was fine. Corvis doubted they'd have time to discuss the plans during the hunt. Not if the womans' followers were as good as it sounded.

Dah'Sharra crowded in with the rest of the group, listening to what could only be an Imperial noble of some sort. She noticed that the man hadn't given his name, nor had his title, which made the Khajiit assassin a little nervous. Of course, she could always have used facial recognition software, but if the man was half as good as his self-assured voice made him sound, the man probably had ways around that as well. She paid very close attention to the holo-image of the woman. Their bounty. 'Kaylin Ataro...not a name I'm familiar with. Looks like a Breton to me, though'

The noble continued, warning that she was more than a match in a one on one fight. Well, Dah'Sharra had expected that. It was seldom that a group of hunters was briefed on the same target together. Usually, they were pitted against each other, each hunter racing to get to the target. As she reflected on this, the man in the recording dropped a bombshell. The reward for the woman, dead or alive. being one of the few in the group that didn't wear a helmet, she had to work to steel her expression, although there was no completely concealing her shock. "Well...fifty million, huh?" Said one of the green armoured me. The surprise clear in his voice.

The Breton, the man she'd mocked earlier seemed more concerned with their destination. "Yeah. Impressive. So, Eregin. Isn't that the planet that's always in a civil war?" She frowned. It made more sense for them to head to Shadar and set up a trap there. However, she knew enough to not go against the contractors wishes. She wasn't about to risk that much of a reward.

"She'll live. She's asleep in the medbay for now. Haven't quite figured out what to do with her just yet but for now I'll keep an eye on her."

The Tough-acting bounty hunter was back from his short endeavour, noticably with the young girl absent. 15 didnt panic, she seemed to know the man when she left, or he might have thought the man had... other occupations.

"Has this party started yet or what?"

"Quiet so far. Things are kinda tense though. If that contact doesn't show soon, this could be a major bust."

The women seemed slightly edgy, as if she didnt want to be here. Not too surprising, the planet was only a few degree's off inhospitable, but he sensed she may have an exterior motive, one she was doing well not to show.
Not too long after the bounty hunters return, another man walked in. He did not wear bounty hunter Attire, but he seemed to have relation to the task at hand.
After being directed over to a table, the man showed a hologram, of which a rich figure, half invisible under his unique robes, began an introduction.
"Greetings. I trust your trip to Cyris was not too unpleasant?"
A live transmission, prevents questioning. Smart.
The hologram figure carried on his scripted speech, and 15 listened intently, not wanting to miss any important details. It seemed they were after a female target named Kaylin Ataro, who seemed to be operating on Shadar. He hadnt heard the name before, so he consulted the Gray.net Accumulated Intergalactic Archives, or GAIA for short, to see if there was any more information about her.
NO FILES AVAILABLE. REPEAT SEARCH? GAIA replied, interacting verbally but too quiet for the others to hear.

15 was not entirely surprised by this, this Kaylin figure seemed to have covered her tracks well. As the holgram gave his number for the reward, even 15 was surprised. The mans attire suggested he was wealthy and it was just a recording, but he gave the offer without even pausing to think about it.
He carried on, mentioning that their first stop was to be the planet Eregin. 15 was more familiar with this, a planet well known for its civil wars and dodgy government. SOURCE didnt get involved in other planets battles, so they had only been hired there a few times for anti- terrorism assistance throughout the years. 15 himself had never seen it. After a final warning about Kaylin's battle effectivness, the hologram finally cut out.
"Well...fifty million, huh?"
This was clearly a shock to the others as well. 15 was doubting that this number would come without a price, this was not going to be easy. But his people needed him, and a dip into this reward would go a long way.
His reaction was simple.
IM IN.

Fifty million eh?. Wonder what she did to earn that. I'll have to look into that. A score like that would just about triple his already accumulated fortune. Over thirty years of collecting some of the mos lucrative bounties posted had made him quite wealthy, although, to look at his bank account one would never guess. He kept his funds carefully distributed across several different accounts and even a couple secure hard stashes, protected by various security measures of course. Of the hunters assembled, he figured he was probably the one with the least need for the money. That didn't stop him from silently gawking over the size of the bounty within the private confines of his helmet though.

He glanced at Skylar. He knew she was quite well off as well. Taking down criminal kingpins for a living had a few perks, namely, what to do with said criminals wealth. She owned a luxurious suite on Shadow station as well as a couple tropical getaway homes. She'd even claimed to own a three hundred foot yacht. Aden doubted the money was much of an incentive for this job. Skylar simply liked seeing justice doled out. At the moment, she stood with one hand casually on her pistol grip and looked to be racking her brain trying to figure out who in the Empire would be able to front that kind of bounty. He could practically see the gears turning inside her head. It was one of the many perks of eidetic memory. She could memorize anything and she never, ever forgot it. She'd once recited an entire page from her favorite novel, verbatim, to him. It was an awesome skill to have in the intelligence business no doubt. He expected that she'd have a list of people with that kind of bank account figured out by the time they got back to the Judicator. Noticing his sightly turned helmet, Skylar turned towards him and gave him an incredulous look before nodding towards their table.

"Well...fifty million, huh?" He heard the voice come from his right. Turning, he saw that it had come from one of the green armored men. One of the others responded with, "Yeah. Impressive. So, Eregin. Isn't that the planet that's always in a civil war?" Aden smirked under his helmet. Not at anyone in particular, but rather at the situation itself. These people, himself included, were the definition of rogues. They would just as soon shoot each other in the back as work together and they had all just been told, in a rather unceremonious way, that they were all going after, what he liked to call, a retirement bounty. One of these types of jobs popped up in the bounty hunting community every few decades or so and always had the potential to either set one up for life, or end it. So far in his career, Aden had collected some pretty well paying jobs, but even the best of those was only a fraction of this.

Still smirking to himself, Aden activated his voice projector and muttered, "Believe it or not, but there have been bigger bounties posted in the past. Not that anyone was able to collect them though." He left the group with that statement and walked over to the table that Skylar was leaning on.

"Well," she said with a shrug, "As far as I know, there are only a few dozen people who could feasibly front that kind of reward in the Imperial system. And I'm inclined to say that I don't think any of them are the bounty posting type. I think this is more likely some underworld job." Aden agreed. If an Imperial noble wanted something done, chances were that he would turn to the vast power of the Legion rather than call on scum such as bounty hunters. Nodding slowly he said, "Thats interesting in and of itself." he said as he stood beside her and waited to see who would be the first to suggest a plan. As enticing as the price was, he really didn't need to be here. He was being payed regardless of whether this Kaylin Ataro was captured or not. He was just Skylars excuse and cover for being here after all.

Galen felt his eyebrows rise in surprise as the Imperial lord named the reward. He was no bounty hunter, but judging by the reactions of the others, they hadn't been expecting as much of a reward either. Galen had been part of Imperial security for the better part of a decade. In that time, he'd seen a lot of Imperial nobles. None of them had been associated with bounty hunters. Almost every noble Galen knew of had a small cadre of elite Imperial troops. The fact that this man didn't set off all types of alarms in the investigative part of his mind. The man hadn't given his name, or exact rank either, simply leaving the group to assume he was of the nobility. The man mentioned Eregin, which was one of the planets that seemed to be in a constant state of civil war. "I suppose it makes sense for a fugitive to hide on Eregin. Especially if the war has started up on that planet"

Dah'Sharra headed to a nearby table, and sat, stretching her legs out, and leaning back against the chair. "Well, war, is better than peace time" she said. " With a war going on, it's not very likely they'll notice bounty hunters...especially you boys wearing the heavy armour" she stared at the five men and the droid, smirking at their armour. Heavy armour was well and good, but it tended to attract attention, especially when the wearers were trying to stay under the radar.

Corvis shifted in place, scowling at the Khajiit woman. Normally, he simply shot people that made jabs at his armour preference. Unfortunately, she was right, and they had to work together. Plus, shooting her, would probably get him shot in turn, and he wasn't particularly fond of catching blaster bolts. Or whatever projectiles the man in the green armour used with his rifle. "So, suppose you're right. We go to Eregin, and find this girl that's worth fifty million. Then what? For all we know, our Imperial 'lord' has told her we're coming. I'm not really in the mood for walking into a trap, guys"

He finished with a slight tilt of his helmet towards the Breton woman, that wore the ballistic vest. The one that had been at Marek's side since she'd walked in. Marek, he knew. Every bounty hunter that had ever worked in Imperial space knew Mareks' reputation, if they hadn't seen him in the flesh, or, well, armour, on one Imperial world or another. In fact, Corvis had started out as a bounty hunter in Mareks' shadow. For years, he'd struggled to build his own reputation, and had succeeded when he took down a powerful drug lord in Therens' underworld. Corvis didn't hold it against his fellow bounty hunter for having a bigger reputation.

The larger your reputation was, as a bounty hunter, you virtually guaranteed you had more people wanting to kill you, and put your head on a stick. Corvis had done his homework on Marek. The man almost never had a partner with him, so...who was the woman? Either Marek was getting old, and needed someone to watch his back, or the woman had ulterior motives for being here, and had paid the bounty hunter to let her tag along. 'Speaking of, whatever happened to that girl that crashed her ship outside? Marek seemed to care for her, as well.' Or at least, as much as his 'slab of granite' persona let him care about anyone. Corvis was definitely interested.

Derek was silent as he listened to the others talk. He moved away from the group, took a seat, back at his original table, and reflected on their destination. 'Eregin, huh? I guess I'm coming home, after all, dad' he thought, remembering the desert planet. And the misery that he'd experienced there as a kid. He wasn't even remotely surprised to learn that the planet was in another one of its' civil wars.

There was no love between the Argonians and Dunmer inhabitants of the planet. Then, if slavers from both sides had been taking civilians from cities, or soldiers of either race destroying said cities entirely wasn't a great environment for peace.. Dereks' dad had tried to step in and help some Dunmer refugees against one of the Argonian gangs that had formed in the Eregin system. Derek wouldn't say he hated Argonians now. He certainly had when he was younger though, after he'd collected his armour, he'd returned to Eregin.

Derek had established a policy, that, if he had to kill, he did it quickly and painlessly. That had not been the case with the Argonian gang members. He'd hunted them throughout the entire sector, killing them one by one, until he'd eliminated the whole gang. Derek hadn't made their deaths clean or painless, either. He'd buried his father in the desert, with his armour. Eregin held a lot of memories for Derek. Not all of them good.

A small light on the upper right corner of his HUD, indicated that Kyle had opened a private comm connection "Hey,dad, you okay?" The younger hunter asked. As usual, Derek's adopted son had sensed his mood.
"Fine, son. Find anything about Eregin?" There was a pause on the comm, as if Kyle didn't really believe him. "Lots. I think we may have found a way to slip into the system without drawing too much attention" Derek wasn't terribly surprised. Kyle was a genius at hacking and information gathering. "Good work. Might as well let the others know. They're not looking too patient"

Kyle nodded, patted Derek on the shoulder, and moved towards the group. He rapped his knuckles against a nearby table top. "Okay, boys and girls, listen up" his T-shaped visor scanned the crowd, ensuring that he had their attention. "As our friend here-" he nodded at the hologram, "-pointed out, the Dunmer and the Argonians have turned Eregin into a warzone.Again. What he didn't point out, is that the Dominion has set up an orbital blockade, and is actively assisting the Dunmer forces with troops, starfighter support, and supplies"

The young bounty hunter paused for a breath. "The empire, being the empire, has decided to attack the blockade. In about half an hour, an Imperial destroyer will drop into Cyris airspace. We'll be waiting for them. When they jump for Eregin, we'll follow in their shadow, and hopefully come out of hyperspace at roughly the same time. So...I guess you better start heading to your ships, huh?"

Galen wasn't too surprised to learn that the Dominion had set up a blockade around the planet. He suspected they'd been waiting for an excuse to do so since the end of the last war. Despite not being to Eregin, he had heard the stories from Dunmer and Argonian refugees fleeing the deserts of Eregin. Perhaps now that the Dominion was taking an active interest in the planet, the fighting would come to an end. The Empire had gotten involved, most likely just to intimidate the Dominion. If he knew the Empires' armed forces, they'd inserted themselves into the war simply for the sake of having a presence there.

He was, however, impressed that Dereks' young partner was able to access that type of information so easily. The movements of an Imperial star destroyer would have been heavily encrypted. "Impressive work" he congratulated. "I can see why Derek partnered with you" he turned towards the others, nodded once, and started making his way towards the doors. He may not have been a bounty hunter, but police training had taught him how to hunt people. He would not be the weak link in the group. Braving the freezing cold of Cyris once more, he headed outside, towards the landing pad where his ship, the Vigilance, which had been refuelled while he was on the ground. He pushed a button on his left gauntlet, remotely starting the star fighters engines from a distance. A light snow had begun to fall, but the wind wasn't quite as bad. Well, that, or Galens' ears had frozen off, and he simply couldn't feel it any more.

He arrived at his ship, and ran a gloved hand over its' sleek hull. The ship wasn't the largest, or the most menacing vehicle on the surrounding landing pads, but it was fast, had good shields, and although it lacked missiles, its' four laser cannons were more than capable of destroying other starfighters and small ships that drug smugglers often used. Plus, he'd upgraded its' sensors to be able to detect most starfighter drive signatures, almost half a system away. Climbed into the cockpit, storing his sniper rifle in the storage compartment behind the pilots seat, and settled in to wait for the others.

"Okay, boys and girls, listen up As our friend here pointed out, the Dunmer and the Argonians have turned Eregin into a warzone.Again. What he didn't point out, is that the Dominion has set up an orbital blockade, and is actively assisting the Dunmer forces with troops, starfighter support, and supplies"
Right up until the end, the analysis was very descriptive. There was a sad history to the planet, it was a shame he was going just to try and kill someone.
Life is not fair, 15 told himself. Your being sent on a mission to kill people just so that yours arent.
Quickly he shook himself back out of the thought. Kaylin was undoubtably an evil women, and to stop a criminal he would do so for no charge. Not that he'd would say no if offered.
That was not good. Bad enough if the Empire caught some Space-hitchhiking Bounty hunters, if they found an Earian military starfighter flying past their cruiser; A bomber craft no less... simply put, the bounty was daunting enough without causing an intergalactic conflict.
As the group began to disperse towards their numerous vehicles, 15 made his way back to the hangar resting above a small snowslope. After paying a small fortune to get his ship out of there, he began a brief systems and weaponry check.
The engine was fine, if not a little frozen, but the cold would wear off now the ship was back in the air. Autopilot seemed to be fine, and the plasma cannons attached to the front were already heating up. The Dozen Seismic charges were neatly arranged, & a compactly stored hydrogen bomb was firmly held by a robotic arm for capital ship assaults. As autopilot began pushing its way through Cyris's atmosphere, 15 turned round and stared intently at the hydrogen explosive
Just in case the Imperials try anything.

Dah'Sharra listened attentively to the briefing. Usually, her instructions came via text, or an incognito comm. She also usually worked alone. Working with a team would be...interesting. Especially this bunch. Both the ex-cop and the droid left the cafe, which left the two green armoured bounty hunters, the Breton in silver-grey armour, the woman in the vest, and the last man in armour. Marek, or whatever his name was.

She nodded to younger of the men in green, and headed outside, flattening her ears against the cold air outside. The wind seemed to have died down a little, but it was still damned cold. She headed to the landing pad, noticing that none of the local had tried tampering with her ship, the Wraith. Seeing no fried Nordic corpses on the pad, she deactivated the defenses, and climbed into her cockpit, and settled in to wait.

Skylar watched without comment as a few of the others leave the tapcap and brave the blistering cold outside on the way to their respective ships. When she looked back to see who remained, she noticed one of the men nod his head at her. What the? She thought, bewildered. The way he nodded made it seem more like he knew something, or at least suspected that something was up. He barely glanced at Aden despite her friends well known reputation which made her uneasy. Instead of showing her unease though, she instead nudged Aden in the ribs and said, "Uhm, shouldn't we get a move on?" Aden turned his head, "Hmm? What? Oh, yes we should. Come on." he said rather abruptly, as though she'd startled him even though she knew it was nearly impossible to do such a thing.

She raised an eyebrow and half smiled at the back of his helmet as he turned to leave. Shoving off the table she was leaning on, Skylar glanced at the man who'd nodded to her and shot him a sly wink, before flicking her hair over her shoulder and obscuring her face. Pulling open the door, she followed Aden down the street, past several emergency vehicles taking care of the wrecked fighter in the middle of the road. When they reached the hangar that the Judicator sat in, the hatch opened seemingly of its own accord and the two of them boarded the craft. Skylar immediately went to the cockpit and began booting up the ship in preparation for takeoff. Behind her in the narrow corridor she heard Adens voice, "Hey Jess, we're back. You better not have gotten into anymore trouble either kid." Skylar sighed. This would be interesting. Being an Imperial employee meant that she was, technically, supposed to capture or kill the person responsible for Vladimir Mengsks death. With Aden around though, she doubted that that would be an easy thing to accomplish and in truth, she wasn't sure she wanted to go against him. Brother.... this is going to be an awkward trip.

The leather clad argonian made his way towards the ramshackle buildings a little outside one of the desert planet, Eregins' larger cities. Despite the scathing heat, the Argonian wore a dark, leather coat, pants, and boots. Under his coat in a shoulder holster, was a pistol, with its' charge showing full, and a small black raptor insignia etched into the dull grey metal of the barrel.

Across his chest was a T-44 Autarch light repeating blaster, slung from a strap, with quick, snap-releases near the barrel and trigger guard. At his waist was a belt, which had several pouches, most of them carrying ammunition, or technological equipment. The Argonian himself didn't strike an intimidating pose, at first look. He had none of the horns that were often sported by his people, and his light blue scales, highlighted in darker blue, with dark yellow, almost gold eyes, didn't make him look overly frightening.

However, a second, closer examination, would pick up, the supreme confidence in the Argonians step and bearing. And the toned muscles that were just hinted at beneath the leather of his coat, and the way his serious, calculating eyes took in everything. His name was Argus Drell, and he was an assassin.

Not that he was a member of the Dark Brotherhood, but rather, was an independent killer, guided by morals, rather than greed. In fact, it was his keen sense of justice that had brought Argus to Eregin. He'd known of the vicious civil war via his numerous contacts, long before the Empire had decided to intervene. However, he wasn't the only one the war had attracted.

A vicious slave group had set up a base, within eyesight of the city. They'd snatched both Argonian and Dunmer younglings, planning on selling them to those that could afford their prices. Their outrages had drawn Argus like blood draws a shark. Now, they were about to pay for their crimes.

Argus had easily slipped through the loose perimeter that the slavers had set up. The men were bored and miserable in the heat, and were more concerned about being relieved and heading to the atmosphere controlled interior of their ships, than they were with stopping intruders.

The assassin climbed onto one of the derelict buildings, removed his blaster from its' straps, and crawled across the roof to the edge, and from a belt pouch, removed a high powered rifle scope. He placed the scope to his eye, and spanned from east to west, noting the positions of the slavers. There were easily a couple dozen of the scum, most were Dunmer, but a few were human, and he noticed a couple of Argonians in the group as well.
Argus kept his temper under careful control. It wouldn't make sense to charge in guns blazing. Such an action would put the younglings in unacceptable danger. Plus, while his suit could absorb some of the energy from the slavers' weapons, there were far too many for him to hope to take on in a fair fight. Zooming in, he could see the line of children being herded onto the ship.

Satisfied that the young ones would be out of harms way should a firefight arise, he placed the scope back into its' pouch. Dropping down, the assassin sank into a crouch, and moved quickly to another building, using its' visual obstruction to help him avoid detection. The slaver around the corner never noticed the leather clad assassin. A deft twist of the Argonians powerful arms, and the man went down.

Argus continued, having re-attached his weapon to its' restraints, in order to have both hands free. He passed several buildings, before something went wrong. A slight sound brought Argus' attention to his right, where a slaver wielding a steel blade, charged out of a building. The assassin didn't waste time berating himself for not checking the buildings.

Instead, he snapped into action, his right hand catching his opponents arm at the wrist, and twisting. The dark elf hissed in surprised pain, the weapon tumbling from spasming fingers...right into Argus' open left hand. The assassin buried the weapon to the hilt in the slavers thigh, and the scums' legs collapsed, delivery the mers' chin right into Argus' rising knee.

The Dunmer collapsed, but not before a shout rang out, and bullets and energy rounds filled the air. "Exactly the outcome I hoped to avoid" he muttered, returning fire with his weapon. The burst of four energy rounds tearing apart a charging slavers torso. Hunkering in cover, the Argonian racked his brain for an alternate plan of action.
