18+ The Hunt

Aden didn't respond to Jessica right away. For a few minutes he just sat in the pilots seat, staring out he viewport as he guided the Judicator towards Blacklight. Behind him he could hear Jessica sobbing quietly. He sighed, She really does think I'm pissed at her. Crap I suck at this stuff. He thought exasperatedly. He punched in a few more commands before leaning back in the seat and slowly reaching up to remove his helmet. The seal hissed as he disengaged it before carefully placing it on the dash in front of him. Standing he turned around and stepped towards Jessica. Aden looked down at her for a few seconds. She looked terrified. Finally, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her a little closer as he attempted his most reassuring voice, "Jess, listen to me... You of all people don't have to fear me. I'm not going to hurt you kid. Just because I'm upset doesn't mean I'm preparing to kick you out the airlock." Jessica looked like she didn't quite believe him. He tried smiling, hoping that it didn't look too much like a grimace, "You've been through a lot in your life Jess and I know you didn't come through it all unscathed, but you've got to realize that its over now. The Academy, Mengsk, even that destroyer. It's all in the past and it's going to stay that way. I promise. I'm your friend Jessica." He said, hugging her tight for a couple seconds, "Look. I know I'm bad at this. I'm used to dealing with scum on a daily basis who would be all too thrilled to put a blaster bolt through me at any given moment so, uh, try and cut me a little slack if I'm being overbearing. I don't mean to scare you but it's kind of a habit. Intimidation is useful in this business, as I'm sure you'll find out if you really do stick around. I appreciate that you put a stop to Baroths search. I do. I just would have liked it if you'd notified me before heading on over to his room. But, I'm not going to bug you about it right now." He glanced at the viewport, "I've gotta set us down and then we'll go find the other hunters we're apparently working with. You can come along if you want." He let Jessica go and then reached over and grabbed his helmet again, "I better put this back on... Wouldn't want people thinking I'm going soft now would I?" He said with a wink before he slid the mask over his head.

When Marek hugged Jessica, she returned it. Her terror was completely eclipsed by surprise, contentment and genuine relief. Not only had Aden Marek given a genuine smile, he hugged another human being. It was out of genuine comfort no less. Miracles really did happen in this universe.

He then explained to her that the past was the past and it would never come back to haunt her. Not Mengsk or the Academy or the destroyer or anything. It was a boldface lie of course, Marek had his own personal daemons, but it wasn't to be taken literally. He meant that she could get over all of it with enough time. She had survived so much and even though some scars were deep and painful they would heal.

Jessica smiled up to Marek and gave him another hug after he put his helmet on. She looked up at him like a daughter that had just been told by her father that he loved her very much. She released him after a moment, then handed him her pad.

Remember the first time we met? How you tried to bag and tag me for Mengsk? I never hated you for that. I was just really mad. You were pretty shocked when you got that note from my dad and you realized who I really was. I guess that's when you and I decided to stop antagonizing each other. Good thing too, since we needed each other to survive that destroyer. I feel like I never thanked you for that. For giving me a second chance and not just treating me like some product to move. You and I really have become friends and I'm grateful for that.

I still have nightmares about what happened. I think Kyle does too, you remember him and Darek? Plus I have nightmares about a lot of other stuff. I've had a lot of time to think and I think I need help. We used to have weekly psychotherapy sessions at the Academy since we all had issues and it really helped me along. It's been years since I've talked to a therapist and I've only gotten more screwed up. I need help Marek. For now though, we've got a job to do and I'm ready to help.

Oh, and don't worry. This conversation will stay with us. I promise!

As for helping with the mission, I'd be happy to come along. My suit's improved since we last fought together but I'd still be best at range. I've got a good range of tech abilities and my psionic powers have really come along nicely. Plus my aim's as good as ever. We'll need an effective way to communicate though. Are you familiar with Legion hand signals?

Aden slid into the pilots seat and began running through the landing sequence even as he read Jessicas data pad which was laid out on the helm beside him. He smirked as he read the last bit. "Hmm, I'm not actually very familiar with legion hand signals. I think Skylars got a few spare sub-dermal implants here with her. Since they don't actually require you to speak into them, it'd be perfect for you." He glanced sideways at her, "It would be almost like talking except it only requires that you think the words. Only drawback is that you'll only be able to communicate with people who have a helmet or comlink. Still, it's a little better than carrying a 'pad around all day. Sorry I didn't remember them earlier but you'd best wait till she gets back to try installing one because I don't think you want me to be the one sticking it into your neck." He turned back to the viewport. Pulling the throttle back, Aden hit the landing mechanism causing the Judicator to rotate 90 degrees as he swung it around to hover over landing bay JT-57. Dust kicked up by the ships drives obscured the pad as he brought the Judicator down onto her dampers. Once it was settled he keyed up the com, "We're docked Baroth... Feel free to come out of your cabin and pay me."

Aden stood and activated the Judicators boarding ramp and then turned and headed down the passage way to the cargo bay, beckoning Jessica to follow. Once there, he opened up one of the weapons lockers. He slung his M501a1 rifle on his back beside his jetpack and then proceeded to holster his pistol. He then refreshed his stock of kinetic darts for his wrist launcher and pocketed a few different greanades, ranging from smoke, to incendiary and high explosive, to flash bang grenades. Jessica gave him an odd look as he loaded up but he just shrugged and said, "The Thalmor have a presence here and there's heavy fighting all over this planet. Not to mention, if our target is as deadly as her fifty million credit price tag implies, then she probably wont take kindly to a group of bounty hunters snooping around." He grabbed a smaller, hold out blaster and shoved into a holster at the back of his belt before also loading the missile launcher in his jetpack. "Word of advice kid: Prepare for the worst possible situation no matter where you're going. That way your enemies won't catch you with your head up your ass. Crude I know, but no less true because of it."

"We're docked Baroth... Feel free to come out of your cabin and pay me." The comms sounded, giving Baroth the heads-up that it was time to go. He stood from his seat on the bunk and slowly made his way to the cabin door, opening the hatch and trudging into the hallway. He'd just missed Marek and Jessica as they walked into the cargo bay, armoring up for the walk to the market. As Baroth walked down the hall he opened a line with Oracle.

"Oracle, how's the scanning coming along?"

"Besides the fact that i have slim access to the city from the ship? Not so good."

"Well, did you find any paths to the market or any other areas? I need to know what we're walking into."

"That's the problem. Marek has the ship locked down almost completely on the digital side. Codes, encrypted walls, fire safes, code-wrapped exits. I'm stuck. Until we leave the ship, we're going in blind."

"Damnit. Well, keep trying. We just landed, so get your scanners ready. I'd rather not get assassinated by some two-bit thief."

"Right. How should i arrange the scan?"

"Percentage of crime in the past month. That gives us the heads up of what ares to avoid."

"On it. Keep an eye on that Marek guy. He's smart no doubt, but devious."

"I will. Just get ready to scan when we exit alright?"

"Ready when you are."

"Good." He finished, closing the line and stopping close to Marek's side. He was just giving Jessica a word of advice. "Prepare for the worst possible situation no matter where you're going. That way your enemies won't catch you with your head up your ass. Crude I know, but no less true because of it." Marek said, turning to see Baroth, right hand outstretched with his palm facing upwards. Baroth reached behind his helmet, grabbing the chip from it's slot and yanked it loose. He reached it over Marek's palm and for a single moment, he hesitated. Finally, he dropped the chip in Marek's hand, who closed it and took it back into a pouch on his pants. Baroth nodded to him slightly. "Right then. From here on out, it's every man for himself." He glanced over at Jessica. "Women too." Baroth then leaned in to Marek's right shoulder and said quietly, "Before this is all over, i need to talk to you personally." Then he turned and began walking to the ramp, momentarily placing his hand on Jessica's shoulder. "You too kid. Sooner than later, we need to talk. If not sooner, then before this is all over." He said, before trotting down the ramp and into the surprisingly cool hanger of Ergin.

Memories flowed back to him as he walked to the nearest lift out of the hanger bay and to Ergin itself. Memories of his crew running jobs and taking scores on the lava-aired planet. Pedaling drugs for high profit and taking the occasional bounty jobs for quick, easy credits. He made a good chunk of his stored credits on the planet, fighting for years before leaving. As a matter of fact, he planned the big heist from Ergin and used it as a distraction. He laughed slightly on the inside, maybe the people would still remember what he did. Maybe his wanted post was still up. Hopefully not. He reached down and pressed the lift button with his thumb as the fairly sized cylinder container closed loud hiss and the high-pitched booop followed him up and out of the bay.

Lyssa Aethrus glared at the doors to her cell. As if her gaze could melt the durasteel bars. The bounty hunter had been in the cell aboard the slaver ship for what felt like hours. She was dressed in only some ragged pants and a shirt. They'd taken her armour, bodysuit, and weapons, before shoving her in the damned three by four cell. The walls were pure durasteel, and the door to the cell had metal bars, that allowed prisoners to see out, into the corridor. Not that there was much to see.

Occasionally, a slaver or two would walk by shooting her lewd looks. She knew what they had planned for her. Rape, then maybe she'd be sold to a wealthy gangster in one of the outer systems. She didn't know, nor want to know what the dozen or so kids she'd seen being loaded on board at Theren. Lyssa had stepped in, and taken down a few slavers, but one of them had hit with what felt like an EMP grenade. When she'd woken up, she'd been in this damned cell. It was cramped, and it smelt like someone had died in it. Then, considering who she was dealing with, someone probably had died in it.

Boots caught her attention, and she glanced up, to see the slaver she'd come to call crater-face. He had almost no skin on his face that wasn't pockmarked. He glowered at her, and she smiled at him benignly. The mans scowl turned into an ugly sneer, and he said, "smile while you can, bitch" before walking away. Crater-face was cranky because she'd castrated his pal with a sharpened spoon early in the journey. She hadn't seen the other man since, which either meant he'd grown some brains about trying to take advantage of half-unconscious women, or he was dead. She hoped it was the latter.

But that wasn't why she was smiling. She was smiling because she'd overheard the slavers saying they'd picked up a 'shadow' on their sensors, just before they'd left Theren space. The slavers thought their equipment was malfunctioning, but Lyssa knew it was Mar in the Hunters Bite. Her Khajiit partner would not leave her at the mercy of scum like this for any amount of time. They'd touched down about a day ago, and she guessed they were off-loading some of the children here, to sell. Wherever 'here' was. Her captors hadn't been exactly forthcoming about their destination.

A challenging cry rang out, followed by the roar of a heavily customized blaster rifle. That was followed by screams, and calls for reinforcements, and a Khajiit roar that sent chills racing down her spine. The blaster went quiet, and a man, slaver by the look of him, stumbled past her cell, a large gash in his chest, probably from an axe. The wielder of that axe was right behind the man, finishing him off with an overhand chop to his back. Grinning from ear to ear, she stood, and approached the cell door. "Hello, Mar" the gold armoured Khajiit turned to her, and removed a computer spike from his belt, inserting it into the cells key pad.

The doors slid open, and Lyssa stepped out into the corridor. "Hello yourself. How do you get into these situations, anyways?" Mar asked, handing the Imperial her armour, bodysuit, and weapons.
"Blame it on my big heart. How did you get in?" She could sense the Khajiits' grin underneath his grim helmet.
"Mar used the maintenance hatch near the engine compartments." He replied, using the third person to describe himself.

"Good thinking" Lyssa replied, as she stripped out of her prison clothes, and got into her bodysuit. Then she began putting on the armour plates, one by one. "Mar does not think we should stick around. These slavers are dead, but more will be on the way" he cautioned, handing her pistol to her. Lyssa holstered the weapon and put her helmet on. "And leave without thanking the good captain for his hospitality?" She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I think not" a deep rumble emerged from the Khajiit, which Lyssa identified as laughter.
"This one was hoping you would say that" he replied, slapping a fresh clip into his rifle. The two of them began heading towards the captains quarters, and Lyssa asked "where are we, anyways?"

"Eregin. A little bit outside of Blacklight" replied the steel grey furred Khajiit. Although all she could see of his fur was his fingers and tail. "How did you get the ship past the blockade?" She asked, "Nobody's going to believe we're a relief ship" her Khajiit partner chuckled again, while checking a room that looked like it had been used as a barracks of sorts. "Mar told them he was providing security for a documentary expedition on the ground"

Lyssa grinned at her partners cleverness. By claiming to already have a job on the planet, the Dominion didn't have to worry about him causing problems for them on the ground. A noise drew her attention, and she brought her finger to the faceplate of her helmet. Mar nodded and turned to the closed door the noise was coming from. Lyssa drew her pistol and nodded once. Mar opened the door, revealing a human slaver, cradling a bottle of booze and looking like he'd pissed himself. It was crater-face, Lyssa realized, as the man looked up.

The slaver nearly screeched in terror, and dug into his pockets, removing handfuls of credits. Which he then proceeded to throw at the two hunters. "Please, I can pay you more! Just let me get more, or I can help you take the ship, or-"

"Oh, shut it" Lyssa sighed, levelled her pistol, and created one large crater out of the mans' face. Mar slapped her on the back "This one is glad that he reached you before you lost your fighting spirit" he said.
Lyssa grinned at him under the helmet "It'll take more than a couple of days in a smelly cell to break me" then she paused, hearing more blaster fire, this time from outside the ship. She looked back to Mar, curious and asked "did you bring some friends along?" The Khajiit shook his head.
"Our distraction. More hunters, Mar thinks. Which reminds him, there may be a...business oppurtunity for us here" Lyssa holstered her weapon once more and struck an 'I'm waiting' pose. "While Mar was following the slavers, he heard from a couple of our contacts in the guild. They were not very specific, but they did tell Mar that a large bounty is on Eregin right now. Apparently, it needs a whole team of hunters to track it." Mar snorted as he finished his report, showing his disdain.

His natural Khajiit tracking talents meant he thought less of most bounty hunters they met. Especially if they worked in more than teams of two or three to bag their prey. Lyssa, however, was intrigued. They weren't running low on credits, but if there was a large bounty on the planet right now, it would be stupid for them to miss out on it. "Interesting. After we finish our business with the captain, we should have a little chat with these hunters"

Argus had made good progress throughout the ship, without attracting attention to himself. However, he'd still killed several slavers that had been in his way. He was closing in on the captains' cabin, but before he could open the door, he heard blaster fire, from inside the ship. The assassin paused, listening hard, keeping his pistol ready. 'More bounty hunters?' Most likely. Apparently, the slaver captain had made more enemies than Argus had originally surmised.

Either way, they probably wouldn't be too happy to see him, especially since he was more likely to reach the captain before either group of hunters. And despite not caring particularly how the man met his demise, he wasn't going to give the man a chance to escape waiting for the others. He turned away from the shooting and continued on his way towards the captains quarters.

As Derek, the Khajiit, and the silver armoured hunter stood in the market, waiting for the others to arrive, he scanned the market with his own helmet, looking for sniper perches and ambush points. There weren't many. The market was basically a big square, with kiosks set up near the edges of the square. Most of the buildings weren't high enough to give a sniper a great field of fire, and the only acceptable ambush points would be at the entrances to the square.

It seemed strange that their bounty wouldn't have hired some local thugs, at least, to set up a surprise of the legitimately not funny kind. The fact that no one suspicious was hanging around, and no one had started shooting yet, indicated no bad guys were lurking around, waiting to for them. Motion at the corner of his eye caught his attention, and he turned to see Marek, Jessica, and a man in armour that he didn't recognize. Seeing that Marek didn't exactly have his blaster jammed into the mans' back, Derek relaxed, just a little.

"You took your sweet time" he said when the three had come in range. He turned away from the group, and started leading them towards, a safehouse. One that his dad had used while they lived on Eregin. He turned to the others "I'm taking you to a safehouse. It'll be our base of operations for our stay on Eregin." He wasn't too sure the others would be happy about his decision, but it was better than having them run back and forth between their respective ships.

He lead the group deeper into the city, and more into the poor sectors of Blacklight. The place was a good location for a safe house not only because none of the inhabitants were likely to pay much attention to a group of armoured hunters, and it was safely away from any soldiers. He approached the door, which had a keypad set in the wall, which only Derek and Kyle knew the code. "Used to be my dads' old place. Powered by two separate generators, and has a source of fresh water as well" the door slid open, accepting the code, but before the others could advance, he blocked their path with an outstretched arm. "Hold it." He knelt beside a small laser sight that was embedded in the wall, just past the door, at about waist level.

He removed a knife from his belt, and used it to pry open a small piece of the wall. A latch was there, and he guided the hook part of the latch into a small loop of steel cable. Then he stood up again, and lead them into the rest of the safehouse. It was larger than a usual safehouse, and had two floors, instead of the usual one. Both the ceiling and the walls were heavily reinforced, against conventional explosives, and electromagnetic blasts.

Deciding to give them a verbal tour, he turned to the group. "Listen up. This is going to be our base of operations on Eregin. Make yourselves familiar with it. Armoury, living room and kitchen on first floor, six bedrooms and two bathrooms on second floor. Over there," he pointed to the corner of the large room they were currently in, "is a terminal, upgraded with the highest security credits can buy. You need to know anything, that's what you want to go to" he crossed his arms and waited for any questions.

Kyle cursed as the woman reported more slavers inbound. His armour was good, but he doubted it would hold up for very long if all eight of them concentrated their fire on him. 'Should have grabbed my rifle' the young bounty hunter lamented, as he took down the first of the new wave of slavers. It didn't seem the scum had any plan in mind, besides, 'kill the intruders' which was a great plan, easy to follow, not many ways it could go wrong. Except for the fact that the bounty hunters outclassed the slavers, by alot. Most of the enemies were using short range weaponry, SMGs' and shotguns, which were great for intimidating prisoners, and were excellent up close and personal, in close quarters combat, but absolute garbage at range.
The fact that gravity played a factor in the slavers projectile weaponry didn't help either. Energy rounds would go on until they hit something. Which was why between the three of them, they decimated the greater numbers of slavers. With the last of them down, Kyle motioned his two companions forwards. Then he paused and looked at the woman. "Wait...did you just call me mr.Green?"

Corvis watched as three figures approached, Marek, and two others that he didn't recognize. "Going soft Marek? You need to hire bodyguards to watch your back now?" He didn't bother listening to the other mans' response, and followed the green armoured bounty hunter, whose name he thought was Varastian. The man was leading the group into the slum area of Blacklight, an area that existed on every planets that Corvis had been on. And one that all governments liked to pretend didn't exist. Which was why the Breton had little, if any respect for government officials.

He let his hand stray closer to his blaster and let his helmeted head turn towards a group of dirty, scrawny, Dunmer, meeting their nervous stares with his visors blank gaze. They halted their approach, and backed away, obviously not eager to test the bounty hunters patience. The green armoured man lead them to a two storied house, entered a key code, and de-activated something that must have been some sort of trap. He lead them inside, and explained the places functions and rooms to them. It certainly wasn't the same as most safe-houses Corvis had been inside. "This place can't have been cheap. How did your dad pay for this place?"

Galen fired twice more, putting down another of the slavers, and ending any immediate threat. He glanced around, looking for other scum, but saw no further danger. "Hey, Mr. Green, Blue Man. It's Skylar. I think I just spotted our pal on the other side of the camp heading for the slaver ship." Galen nodded and holstered his weapon. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do in a war zone like Eregin, but his cop instincts were telling him it was fairly safe. "That makes sense. Whoever this guy is, he's professional. And I don't mean a soldier." He nodded to the corpses that had been there before the group had arrived. "This is good work. Clean, efficient"

Argus reached the captains' cabin, and no guards were outside. Nor was the door locked, which was not only foolish, but fatal. "Such arrogance" the assassin murmured softly, opening the door. The slaver captain had his back to the entrance, another mistake, and was on a comm-link, engaged in a heated conversation with one of his subordinates. "I don't care what's going on near the cells! Get your asses up here!"

Drell cleared his throat, and when the captain turned, the Argonian assassin levelled his pistol. "Your men can't help you, at the moment" he said calmly, quietly.
"You?" The slaver frowned, before recognition dawned in his eyes. "you.We thought you died on Teren four" the man said.
"Yes...I have a habit of disappointing people in that regard" then Argus shot the captain twice in the chest, and the Dunmer collapsed. Argus walked around the desk, stepping over the corpse and activated the console, searching for the cell controls. Before he could activate the controls, he heard boots in the hallway ahead. It appeared he was about to meet the others that had been fighting. He holstered his pistol and attempted to look unthreatening.

The group of slavers had entrenched themselves in the corridor, and were exchanging heavy fire with both Mar and herself. Which was really starting to piss her off. The slaver captain was just up ahead, but these five scumbags were keeping the two bounty hunters from advancing. They'd been some of the slavers that hadn't been caught by surprise, and were fairly good shots. Lyssa had several scorch marks on her chest and shoulder, from when the slavers had first opened fire. The rounds hadn't penetrated her armour, but they had felt like being hit by an angry orc.

'Okay, this is getting ridiculous' she removed a grenade from her belt, but didn't arm it. She didn't want the path to the captain blocked off, and the slavers weren't worth wasting a grenade on. She tossed the explosive underhand, letting it bounce and making plenty of noise. It got the attention of the slavers, who cried out in surprise, and turned to run. That's when Lyssa and Mar popped out of cover and opened fire, gunning down the group. Together, they strolled down the corridor, and Lyssa looked over the blaster burns in their former enemies backs. "Nice shooting" she commented, bending to pick up her grenade and reattach it to her belt. "Now, let's deal with the head scumbag, and then see what our 'friends' outside want"

Mar just grunted his agreement, kicking one of corpses out of the way. He was quiet when on a job, she found. Unless communication was absolutely necessary, Mar tended to shoot first, then talk. Lyssa glanced away from her companion, just in time to see an Argonian entering what had to be the captains cabin. She glanced at Mar, then broke into a sprint. She could hear Mar thundering along behind her, the heavier Khajiit giving her the image of a gold plated, heavily armed avalanche crashing towards the cabin.

The two bounty hunters reached the the door, just as two blaster shots rang out. "Damn it!" she snarled opening the door. Sure enough, the Dunmer slaver captain was laying on the deck, two smoking blaster holes in his chest. She shifted her aim to the Argonian who was standing behind the desk, searching through the computer for something. "Okay, what's your game, scaly? And don't try anything" just because he had his blaster put away, didn't mean she trusted him any farther than she could throw him.

Skylar half smirked at the man in Green armor, "Haha, feel free to tell me your name anytime you want kid. Until then I'll just keep on making them up." She shouldered her rifle as the three of them moved into the gathering of tents and small buildings surrounding the slavers ship. They'd put down the few remaining slavers that had attacked them head on but they didn't know how many, if any, were still around. Whoever else was attacking the slavers might have missed a few. Skylar stepped over a corpse with a very precise blaster hole through the head and kept moving. As the three of them closed in on the ship, Skylar could faintly make out the sound of blaster fire coming from within. She paused to listen. Several volleys could be heard, along with return fire. After a few seconds, the shooting stopped and it was silent again. She frowned, "Sounds like our friend has reached his goal. Or he's dead." Keeping her rifle ready, Skylar stepped onto the boarding ramp, "I'll take point." She said to the two bounty hunters.

Walking up the ramp, Skylar came to a T in the corridor. She didn't have to guess which way to go. In the right hand passage lay two bodies. Following the trail of death, Skylar quickly came to a hallway riddled with scorch marks from blaster fire along with several dead slavers, all of them with multiple blaster burns. As she walked down the hall she could could just make out the sound of someones voice on the other side of the door at the end of the passage. She couldn't make out what was said but it sounded as though there was more than just the single person who had attacked the slavers. Skylar looked over her shoulder at the other two and whispered, "How do you wanna do this?"

Within minutes of 15's arrival the young girl, bounty hunter & a new face arrived on the scene, noticably with the other young woman absent. Deciding he would check on the girl's status once they were out of public, 15 patiently waited until the group was back in movement, heading towards a supposed "safehouse".
The Bounty hunters idea of a safehouse was... questionable. It made sense to be in one of the less admirable districts, but its size & appearance were very different to those 15 had seen in the past. Still, it would be nice to get some privacy. Some of the locals were eyeing him up with glints in their eyes, and 15 imagined they were not above attempting to rob him of his parts. One of the downsides of looking like a droid. His little intervention with the Thalmor earlier would undoubtably turn a few extra heads as well.
Once they reached the entrance to the building, 15 decided that he'd had enough of Eregin's community, but before he could enter the safehouse owner blocked off access to the room. After disabling a small security piece cleverly lodged in the door frame, the group poured into the spacious room, whilst its owner gave a quick introduction. "Listen up. This is going to be our base of operations on Eregin. Make yourselves familiar with it. Armoury, living room and kitchen on first floor, six bedrooms and two bathrooms on second floor. Over there," -a small gesture towards a machine on the far side of the room- "is a terminal, upgraded with the highest security credits can buy. You need to know anything, that's what you want to go to".
While the man was occupied answering questions from the other bounty hunters, 15 excused himself silently & made his way over to the supposed armoury. A quick glance inside the room revealed minimal information; All that could be seen were a few protective body suits & dust coated weapons. A small ammunition droid was waddling about in the corner, but 15 doubted it contained any Asium shards his weaponry used. Thanking himself for bringing extra clips, 15 turned to leave the room, heading back over to the group. remembering his earlier idea, the solider walked up to the young girl from on Cyris, ignoring any looks he got from the two bounty hunters that had been walking with her earlier. His question was one of no emotion, not that the visor would express it in any way.
THEY TREATED YOU WELL?

"How do you wanna do this?" Skylar asked, turning towards him, as they listened in on a fairly heated conversation. Obviously, someone besides the person they'd come to help was in the cabin in front of them, and whoever was speaking did not sound very happy. "We'll go in together. Skylar, you take the left, Galen, you take the right. I'll try to sort the whole mess out without anyone else getting shot" with those words, he holstered one of his pistols and stepped towards the door, which slid open. An Argonian stood oppossite him, and had his weapons away, and to the right stood a pair of armoured mercenaries, one probably human, the other Khajiit, judging by the tail. On the floor was a dead Dunmer, probably the slaver captain. "Hey, folks. What seems to be the problem?" He said, keeping his voice calm and soothing.

******
"This place can't have been cheap. How did your dad pay for this place?" The silver armoured Breton asked, looking around the room. "He didn't. The Dunmeri government have been paying for the place" at the others confused expressions, he clarified "this used to be a safehouse for the governor, that lived up in his manor in the rich part of Blacklight, in case things went bad. Unfortunately for him, when the Argonians stormed the manor a few years ago, he didn't have time to get out of his office and hide out here. So instead of telling the lizards everything he knew, he ended up blowing his brains out" Derek shrugged. " Dad found the place, and made it a little more functional. Since no one besides the former governor knows about this place, I'm guessing that the few hundred extra that it costs the government to keep this place operational is explained away. Nobody wastes time looking if they can come up with a believable excuse" He turned away from the group, but not before saying "make yourself at home. You'll be staying for a while, most likely"

The door opened again, and the assassin stepped back as the two bounty hunters entered the room. The female, probably human, swore at the sight of the dead slaver, and then both her and her friend levelled their weapons at him. Argus didn't lift his hands, but he did hold them out to his sides, as to not seem like a threat. "Okay, what's your game, scaly? And don't try anything" before Drell could respond, the door opened again, and three more people walked in, most likely more bounty hunters, and as he'd assumed, the two groups weren't together. "Hey, folks. What seems to be the problem?" The man in green armour said. The man seemed to be trying to diffused the situation with humour. "I am Argus Drell. Freelance assassin. Currently, I'm not working. I am, however, releasing the children who are held in cells in this ship. I have no wish for violence, and apologize if I cost you credits by killing the captain" he inclined his head towards the dead slaver.

After following the large party to the 'safehouse', as the party leader called it, Baroth listened to the exchange before briefly breaking off from the group and brushing past a rather large looking droid. He walked cautiously into a short corridor leading into the kitchen, following the corridor's r turn into the kitchen itself. The room was like most others he'd seen before. Back when he was a small house robber in the rich neighborhoods, he always enjoyed having a snack from the fridge, though it took around an hour to open the damn thing. Besides the flashback, the kitchen was but another room of the 'manor' as he heard from the conversation in the other room. Turning and walking to the south door of the large square room as it hissed up and open, revealing the armory.

Aside from the various weapons and ammo clips latched to the walls, the armory was pretty empty. Likely because there was a switch of some sort to reveal a bigger section of the room. Turning and walking to the right wall that housed the other exit/entry door, Baroth left the armory and re-entered the living room, where the group was still gathered. Various expensive pieces of furniture decorated the room gold and light-black, with the crimson red carpet beneath their feet. He didn't ask Orcale to send out a scan of the area, as he estimated the security would pick it up and trace it. And right now, he didn't need that kind of attention after being under the radar for so long. He did however send a small request to her, asking she record the conversation. If he was going to stay here, he needed to know as much as possible. Walking past the 'leader' of the group and to the double door that hissed open to show a single staircase with another double door at the top, Baroth advanced to the second floor.

Arriving at the top, Baroth turned to his right and was met with another corridor. Three doors fairly spaced out on either wall represented the six bedrooms. At the end of the hallway, there were two evenly spaced doors Baroth guessed were the bathrooms. Picking the first door on his left, Baroth entered the bedroom. But not before he acdidently walked into a transparent wall of green scan. Baroth was startled at first, then he realized the wall only momentarily took a 3D picture of his appearance to ensure that no one else but him entered the room. Smart. And sure enough, on the outside wall, by the door to his room was a small black squares embedded in the wall. It would scan anyone who approached the door to compare the appearances, and if they didn't match, it would lock the room. He knew because he'd seen it before, in a rather rich mansion in the rather rich side of Starflare.

Shrugging off the memories again, Baroth allowed the door to close behind him and the automatic lights to come on. A single bed lay horizontal against the wall, a small terminal on the right, and a closet on the left. The room, overall, was pretty small as the walls barely extended beyond the bed. It didn't matter to Baroth. He once spent a year inside a carbon crate. Had it not been for his suit and large supply of food substitute, he would probably be rotting in the ice of Cyrin right now. Sitting on the bed, He relaxed slightly when he remembered he had to do a manual scan of the areas Oracle couldn't access. Walking out of the room, down the stairs, through the group and out of the room, Baroth was met once again with the extreme heat of Ergin. Not waiting to turn into human toast, Baroth pushed into a small trot towards what looked like the marketplace. He always kinda liked Blacklight. Close buildings, tight spaces, hidden crevasses, and dark balconies told him what areas to avoid and what areas to use.

Once again, Baroth shoved the irrelevant thoughts from his mind and pushed to the sections of the market place that were immune to scans to see if any points of interest were present. He needed all the information, vantage points, alleys, and deserted balconies he could find if he was going after a target who had half a elite army at her back, used magic, was elite with a blade, and was worth fifty-million credits.

"I am Argus Drell. Freelance assassin. Currently, I'm not working. I am, however, releasing the children who are held in cells in this ship. I have no wish for violence, and apologize if I cost you credits by killing the captain" Lyssa sighed and lowered her pistol. She almost wished the Argonian had been some other kind of scum bag, preferably one with a large bounty on his head. Freeing children wasn't exactly a crime, nor was murdering the slaver captain. But, that still left the three humans that had burst into the cabin moments ago.
"Okay, how about you three? Here for the bounty, or do you make a habit of running into rooms waving weapons around?" She glanced at Mar, who still had the three covered with his blaster. A single wrong move on their part, and they'd be scattered all over the room.

Jessica didn't say much as she followed Marek and Baroth through the marketplace. There wasn't much to say. She was part of a hunt and she would help however she could. Baroth wanted to talk to her and when they got to wherever they were going he would do so.

She had never been to Eregin before but quickly found that she hadn't been missing much. It was a typical frontier world with Blacklight being a typical city. Nice parts consisting of a spaceport, thriving marketplace and Dominion offices with slums all around it. Even in this day and age, with all the wonderful technology the galaxy had to offer and with people living longer and healthier lives than ever before, the gap between rich and poor was still an uncrossable abyss. Jessica always thought that was a human problem but maybe that's just how people were?

As they walked she rubbed her scarred bald head every so often. It was hot here and that irritated her wounds. Damn Mengsk for taking away her hair. She made a mental note to invent shields that protected you from heat and light, not just objects exceeding a certain speed like those her suit generated. Of course that would probably involve making an opaque shield which would defeat the purpose of such a device.

She was thinking this over when they ran into Derek, a Khajiit woman and a silver armored hunter and all headed to a safehouse in one of the slums. Darek gave everyone a quick tour and instructed them to make themselves at home as they would be here for awhile. Jessica was just fine with that as she had nowhere else to go. She stuck with Marek in the main room until she saw another that she hadn't really existed before. The droid from Cyris had somehow followed them and just walked right in behind them! Jessica just thought she had been delirious when he first carried her inside that tapcafe but he was as real as she was. He walked up to her and flashed THEY TREATED YOU WELL? across his visor. Now that Jessica had a comlink and was conscious she could answer him and she was happy about that. After a bit of futzing around with channels she found the one he was receiving from.

"It's good to see you again and yes they have treated me well. I wasn't sure if you were real back on Cyris but I'm glad to see that it's so. I never got your designation. My name's Jessica. How'd you follow us without anyone noticing by the way?"

"Okay, how about you three? Here for the bounty, or do you make a habit of running into rooms waving weapons around?" Kyle glanced at his two companions, hoping they were willing to let him do the talking. He'd learned a long time ago, that it was never a good idea to piss off a woman with a blaster. Especially if she had a friend with an even bigger blaster, and had no qualms about opening fire. "The three of us are after a bounty, yes, but not the one of this slaver. We were in the area and thought we'd stop by to lend a hand" he explained.

Corvis listened as his fellow bounty hunter explained how his dad had originally found the place and made it his own. He was impressed, but wasn't about to admit that to the man. "I'm going to have a look around" he said, distancing himself from the others. It wasn't that he was planning on leaving the safe house, their employer had already made it clear, that if they wanted to collect on the bounty, they were going to work together, one way or another. 'Which doesn't mean some of our less than trustworthy companions won't attempt to take the creds and make a run for it'

Corvis wasn't planning to. He had enough credits he was set for the rest of his life one way or another. But he'd learned a long time ago, never to refuse an easy job. Despite the old mans' warnings, Corvis didn't think this Ataro girl would cause them too much trouble. One on one, maybe, but their was a fairly large group of bounty hunters. Most of whom had some experience hunting all sorts of dangerous scumbags. Which brought his thoughts to the girl that Marek had dragged inside the tapcafe on Cyris. She couldn't be more than twenty, twenty five years old, at the most and looked like she might shoot herself in the foot before hitting an actual target. 'Or one of us' he thought darkly.

Still, she'd been brought in by Marek, who had a pretty impressive track record himself, and wasn't exactly known for helping people out. Which brought up the question why he was bothering to drag the girl around with him. Unless, of course, he was training her as his replacement. Or he owed her something. 'All kinds of interesting...' he mused, heading towards the armoury, where he'd seen both the droid and one other hunter go previously. The room was large, and obviously hadn't seen use in some time. But the armaments were still in good shape. Everything from pistols to sniper rifles were hung in racks on the walls, and in a smaller compartment, were row upon row of cupboards. Curious, Corvis approached and opened a few.

They contained energy packs, maintenance equipment, and varieties of grenades. "This guy could outfit his own army. And keep them supplied for months" he muttered to himself. Plus, it told him that their host was hardly hurting for credits. He turned on his heel, and left the armoury, considerably more impressed with the safe house than he had been already. He performed a quick tour of the upstairs, taking a look at the rooms, memorizing the places layout, in case he ended up having to bang out in a hurry. Finished, he headed back down, and noticed that the younger green armoured bounty hunter still hadn't returned. "Hey, Varastian. Your boy going to be much longer?"

(OOC: Well, hopefully that's enough to get the ball rolling again)
