Private The Missing Crown

With Jacoby preparing to leave with his small group, Bryn finally made it up to one of the bedrooms, he shut the window he came in from and proceeded inside. He made his way through a few different corridors, all in search of the crown's room. Along his way, he stumbled onto an unfamiliar face. It was Stiletto, though Brynjolf didn't know this. He kept his voice low. "Well now, did ya get lost, lass? The last place you want to be right now is here, I can promise you, it won't be pretty." Bryn didn't know her, but if she was here, Hides couldn't have been too far behind.

Jacoby listened on as Labrys explained herself, clearly she was determined to be here, even more so then when she first walked in. "Well that's splendid to know, and to channel those animal abilities toward anyone willing to step in our way is sure to be the highlight of their day! Hahaha! Or the end of it... meh, same thing I guess. But your right, this is a family, a messed up demented one, but a family nonetheless." After giving her a venomous smirk he turned to Achilles. "And no need to pay! Once I have the crown, we'll be able to afford all the pricey outfits we could get!" Little did Jacoby realize that instead of "we", he stated when "he" obtained it, the misfortunes of talking a bit too fast. 'Now hurry up and let's get this thing underway, there's a cold and lonely crown waiting to be claimed!" He let them dress themselves as he stepped out from the balcony behind the home.

"Just a bit longer..."

Hmm Jacoby seems a bit shady Achilles thought to himself. He followed him anyway, eager to earn some coin. "Lets go then."

"Did you-" Labrys frowned, then stopped herself, following the two of them, dressed in her leather "mercenary" armor as she was needed if she were to play her part. "I". Did he mean to say "I"? Nay, but perhaps ... nay. I will keep an eye on this one. Perhaps I will have to be even sneakier than I first expected... Before she stepped outside, the quickly conjured a Familiar, the one who she began to call Fear - for a number of humorous reasons - and had following her most of the time. She rubbed Fear's ears for a moment. He growled softly and followed her as she went her separate way, to keep the guards and General Tullius occupied.

Stilletto turned to the Nord man, his lack of finery alerted her that this man was not a regular to this palace. What I know you, Stilletto thought mind combing through the dossiers Hides had provided. Brynjolf, old theives guild ranking member or was it leader. That was all Stilletto needed to know, and so she curtsied.
"Why would that be m'lord? For we are in the Blue Palace and so surely we are as safe as Elisef?" It was the voice of innocence.

Hides-Many-Knives sat there in obvious discomfort, for the guests were now gathered for a feast. Maven now drunk was even more forward. She actually thinks her playful threats would woo any man, Hides giggled at an fortunate time for some puffed up noble had finished his joke. Must find a way to get out, Hides thought. I won't even kill Jacoby and Dar' arjo, no they derserve to suffer for this.

Dar’arjo looked around the old and long since abandoned Pelagius Wing, the only part of the place that wasn’t guarded or patrolled regularly. It had been rather easy for the agile Khajiit to propel himself up to the nearest window and make his way inside the Palace, while staying undetected from the remaining Solitude guards. Dar’arjo strode down the empty corridor, past ancient furniture and through cobwebbed doorways, heading towards the main part of the Palace, hoping he could get to the crown before any of the remaining thieves arrived. As he neared the door leading into the first floor of the Blue Palace, Dar’arjo took a moment to think over what he was about to do, as this just might be the greatest theft he ever committed, especially if he didn’t make it out of here alive. “Come on Dar’arjo, you can’t do this on your own, this is the Jarls palace were talking about for Oblivions sake, there’s no way you pull this off.” As the cat pondered this thought, he started to regret his rash decision to get rid of his fellow thieves, this was after all one of the few groups that had really accepted the ageing Khajiit into their ranks. “Well, I guess it’s too late now…all of the thieves are probably dead or in jail, expect that lizard of course. Hides Knive all ways seemed there to save him from any danger, as well as do all his dirty work.” At that very moment, Dar’arjo heard voices comeing from the other side of the Palace door, and one of them sounded rather familer, in fact it reminded him a lot like…”Hides!" Exclaimed Dar'arjo in disgust. "Damn that Lizard. He’s always one step ahead of me. It doesn't matter though, I’ll still beat him to that crown even if I have to kill every one of his damn Knives to do it.” And with all thought of remorse for his past actions gone, Dar’arjo opened the Pelagius Wing door, quickly blending in to the shadows before he was spotted by guards who were too busy watching Maven Black Brair and Hides to notice the Khajiit sneak behind them and head towards the Palace kitchen.

Hides felt his ears twitch, not really but he had that sensation at the base of his tail. Ah, Hides thought. That must be my guest of honor. Hides sniffed the air using Mavens proximity to disguise his action. It smelled of a cat. So Dar' arjo is here, Hides thought. So he was acting of his own ambition. Hides knew that was dangerous for a thief. Hides stood up, but Maven kept clawing for him to stay with her. Hides sneered at Maven, and knocked her hand from his sleeve. His claws where coated with frenzy poison, and Maven with alchohol just couldn't contain her self.

Hides slipped out of the confusion, he found the nearest window. Hides took out a scroll and started chanting. incantation complete Hides through his hand forward launching a ball of fire, and it exsploded into the air. Let the true party begin, Hides thought his smile showing all of his razor teeth.

Razor was checking the window every few minutes for guards and the signal. Angeline was a gracious host and had attempted to start smalltalk, but Razor said after this business was done. Then he saw it, a great flash of light in the sky. He ran back down into the basement to find Cleaver browbeating Syndus while Scalpel stood there repeating.

"You can make this stop after all. Give us what we want and my associate here can rest."

Scalpel looked up as Razor came down the stairs, and nodded. Cleaver grabbed the black bag and put it over Syndus head. Scalpel checked the restraints, found them satisfactory, and soon the three were heading down the streets. The noticed it was a massive mob approaching the Blue Palace. Some where thieves guild, some where Knives, and some were confused city folk wondering why the night was lit up. Razor whistled and said to his companions.

"This is gonna be big."

"By Shor," Labrys cursed softly under her breath. She quickly walked back over to Archilles and Jacoby. "We're too late," she hissed under her breath. "Well, not too late, I suppose. But how are we suppose to get in there now? Tullius won't ignore random flashing lights now, will he? And they know that we're here..grr, when I get my hands on that traitor-" She strained her ears and started towards the Blue Palace. To her, this was now more than just stealing the Jagged Crown. Now she based her thoughts on this traitor. The Crown doesn't matter anymore, not if we get ourselves killed. Oh, when I get my hands on that traitor.. A shiver ran through her body with a sight, her eyes dark with grimness but light with aliveness.

"What is that?" Achilles asked in amazment. Labrys walked over and said something about the traitor and how it would be hard to get in. "What now?" Achilles asked them both

Labrys sighed impatiently. "We've been betrayed by somebody, and Jacoby thinks it might be Hides. I don't care who, but he's going to regret it soon enough." Her 'assassin personality' had returned, mindset on getting to the Palace undetected and having a 'chat' with the Guild traitor. Her palms lit up a blue, faintly, but then it disappeared.

The guards were tying there best to contain the mob, but needless to say sleep deprived and/or drunk nords and other peoples would have nothing of lights in the night. Soon, some people broke off and started looting stores. That is when Scalpel saw what the plan was, he turned to his companions and mouthed on word: riot. Thier pace quicked for the Blue Palace, wondering what the plan could possibly be.

Stilletto stood alone with Brynjolf, went the signal went off Stilletto knew she had to keep the act up.

"By the divines, what was that?" She quickly drew herself closer to Brynjolf, who would respond only by putting his arms around her. Will father want him alive or dead, Stilletto thought. Her hand feeling the dagger hidden in her left sleave. Father said no casualties except for the traitor, Stilletto cursed. She wanted to kill Brynjolf, he was grabbing her buttocks, and it was not the time nor the place. She kicked Brynjolf's groin and dragged him into a small room to the side locking him away.

Hides returned to find Maven apologizing profusely to Elisef, but found most of the bodyguards had left to quell his riot. The room was in a panick and Hides knew it was time to set the plan in motion.

"High Queen Elisef, I have a feeling this is part of a dashing crimminal mind. Is thier anything you have recently acquired worth this much trouble?"

Elisef nooded, she was responding good to the poison he slipped into her drink, and took off down the hall, Hides as her shadow. Hides smiled, the crown and the traitor what fun.

Labrys managed to make it to the Palace doors. She paused, looking back, a large line of red across her cheek where a Guard had accidentally slapped her as he was trying to restrain a villager. She cursed softly under her breath and turned towards the doors. I need the Legion.

Achilles watched as the riot spread around him. Drunken Nords robbing stores, guards and civilians fighting. Solitude was in chaos, all because of a light?! Achilles thought to himself. He was about to say something but Labrys began to walk over to the palace. She was slapped by a guard and then went inside. She didnt say anything to the guard, which surprised Achilles. Well i guess i will follow her Achilles thought to himself..

Byrnjolf still recovering from the kick to the groin was able to pick himself up. It wasn't until a moment later he had noticed Stiletto locked the door tight and took off. He looked for spare lock picks in his pocket, he would get out eventually, but not for a while. He pounded on the door and shouted at the top of his voice. "Damn it! I'm sorry, but you have to listen to me! The man I work with, the traitor, he doesn't care about the crown, he only seeks to eliminate competition. He wants you to try and take it! He has something planned, he wants everyone to be in that room at once, and you would be damning yourself if you walk into there! Bryn was panting furiously now, he didn't like the new guild, but he knew for a fact he hated Jacoby with immense passion for what he had done to the original Thieve's Guild. He only hoped there was someone still there to hear. "I tell you this because he has wronged me before, much like the accomplice he's recruited to sneak him into the palace. You have to listen to reason, lass!" He continues trying to pick the lock while hoping a response would be returned.

On the outside, the ensuing commotion made it difficult for Jacoby to keep up with Labrys and Achilles. As bad as this sounded on paper, it provided opportunity. While trying (and failing) to cut through the crowd, he was pulled aside and away from the commotion by the guard he had mentioned earlier. "Is... is that you? Have you got the gear?" The man nodded, much to the satisfaction of Jacoby. "Good. So we're all set. See you on the other side, partner." Both of them split, Jacoby now dressed as a guard himself, he blended in, easily able to walk into the palace undetected.

With Achilles and Labrys left behind, a robed woman from the crowd was able to grab each of their hands. "Follow me, hurry!" She said with a soft, mild voice. The woman pulled to two to the side of the palace, an open window near the kitchen was available for them to enter through.

Labrys let out a soft cry of surprise, and although looking immediately wary, she trusted the woman and slid through the window sleekly, looking up and beholding the Palace's kitchen. She turned around towards Archilles and the woman. "What-" she began, slipping her Imperial helm off of her head and holding it in her hand.

"Whoa! Who are you?" Achilles asked as the robed woman grabbed his hand. Achilles didnt protest as she lead them through the window, but he was a little nervous. Jacoby had dissapeared and now this robed woman was taking them into the palace through a window. "Why are we in the kitchen?" Achilles asked. He didnt know why he asked that but he just blurted it out. What a stupid question he thought as he silently cursed himself.

Labrys stood watching the woman, the wariness plain on her face, although there was an array of odd and faint trust as well.

"I'm sorry, I wish we could have met on better terms." She pulled down her hood, revealing the flowing black hair, and fair skin underneath. "You may not know me, but a friend of mine knows you well. My name is Olyviah, a friend of Jacoby's, and a Thieve's Guild associate" The breton woman paid the duo a radiant smile before explaining herself thoroughly. "I was asked to search into the traitor case also, and I'm afraid I don't quite like where it's going. The fact is, we have to get to the crown as soon as possible." After taking a slight breath, she noticed Labrys take off her Imperial helmet. "A legionarre with the guild? Sounds a bit familiar, heh." Olyviah thought to herself, recalling her days with the Legion.

Labrys looked like she was about to argue, but held her tongue. "Fine. I don't know about Jacoby - where in Shor did he go? - but if you're with the Guild.." Her eyes had sharpened and narrowed when she mentioned the traitor.

"I seem to be asking that often as well. Jacoby asked me to come here to aid in the traitor hunt while he focused on obtaining the crown. Interestingly enough, he's been a bit "off" since weeks in advance leading up to this mission. I wouldn't like to think it's he whose turned his back on us, but getting to the crown before he does is our best bet at finding out." After replying to Labrys, she heard Achille's question, letting out a sigh after he finished. "I'm afraid I don't. But I know someone who does. Watch your step, he should be somewhere in the halls of the palace."
