Theory Of The Missing Dwellmer...

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that when I go into a Dwellmer Site, the Felmer are there.

My Theory is that The Felmer are The Dwellmer, that possibley this techno race got too cocky, and one of the Daedra or one of the Nine sort of "De-evolved" them as a lesson?

Whats your theory?
 
According to a theory in the lore, the Falmer were once a civilized race of ice elves who made the mistake of looking to the Dwemer for assistance - seeking sanctuary from war. The Dwemer betrayed them by turning them into slaves and forcing them to a cheap diet of the glowing mushrooms, the toxicity of which accounted for the physiological changes in the Falmer, giving them their more orc like appearance and their blindness. The Falmer eventually rose up against the Dwemer and defeated them in war which is the cause of the Dwemer disappearance.

Ohhhh I wanted it to be a it more interesting than that! Thanks though :) It's nice to know the trueth.

I still think, they should have all flown off in a Spaceship though! :P xxx

You're so Nordy! Haha. I had this same idea earlier today! Then someone pointed me to the correct lore :'C Glad I wasn't the only one thinking this... :)
 
Dwemers were a race that worshiped reason and logic above everything else. They were pretty much the atheists of TES universe. Since Gods are as real as they are in TES universe, I assume they got punished. Now, their once glorious underground city is hollow, littered with ghostly remnants and deserted artifacts. But the dead city still breathes with hissing steam works and grinding cogs. Dwemer dungeon creeps the hell out of me.
 
Falmer are the ice elfs, elves whatever. When the dwemmer went underground to avoid the war the falmer(when they looked pretty) went to make a pact so they could live with them. The dwemmer somehow betrayed the falmer and the falmer killed all the dwemmers. Because the falmer lived underground for all that time they have adapted and became urgly, like the movie cave.

I doubt the Falmers were the cause of sudden Dwemer disappearance. Dwemers were too smart to be defeated by the race that they just enslaved. Hell, they even made all Falmers blind. Now Falmers are nothing more than primitive and highly aggressive creatures, just like goblins except on steroids. If Falmers killed all Dwemers, there must be some sort of evidence. Nothing vanishes from history just like that. poof. gone. No clues or evidence. It's a mystery to us forever :0
What happened to Dwemers? Are they still alive? TUNE INTO NEXT SKYRIM DLC TO FIND OUT! (I doubt they'll ever bother explaining why Dwemers are gone. Mystery is always fun and it may be for the best we never know. Still, I would like to find out why and how)
 
So the dwarves have been in the elderscrolls series since morrowind, why is bethesada doing this to us. I learned that next to the remains of the dwarves weapons and armor (in other provinces) were ashes, they also got in a war with some daedric cult.
 
A dwellmer DLC would be cool, you have to make your way to a new discovered dwellvin ruin, and there is a time machine down there which takes you back in time to the great silent city in black reach.
 
From what I know...they didn't vanish because of the Falmer because not all Dwemer's were at peace with each other and some in Hammerfell that were completely separated from other clans of Dwemer vanished with the rest of them even thousands of miles away.

The Dwemer's religion leader Kagrenac made 3 magical items (Sunder, Keening, Wraithguard) that were to be used to tap into the Heart of Lorkhans power so he can make his people divine, but in turn the spell that was suppose to harness the power of the heart failed @ which point the entire Dwemer race vanished from the Mortal Plane.
 
While logically sound for Skyrim the Falmer could not be the sole reason for the disappearance of the Dwemer as they are isolated. Dwemer ruins stretch across much of Tamriel and are not always infested with Falmer. An interesting theory but probably debunked.
 
I like the idea of their creations turning on them, even though there really isn't any evidence for it!
 
Actually from everything I have read and heard thus far the only conclusion that can be reached is "they mysteriously disappeared" lol YAY for Tamriel archeologists!
 
Did'nt up top someone post a link to the lore wiki saying the lost in war to the Falmer? But i suppose even if they did lose in war to them it wouldnt have entirely made them extinct (although knowing the falmer its possible).
