Would you stop playing your character because of this?

Lightningfalcon

Seems khajit...
So i went back to my first assassin which was a khajit assassin.

One thing i did wrong was join the stormcloak as a khajit and completed the questline because i heard from someone their armours best for light armor people not knowing anything about them only liking nords.

I pretty much like everything about my khajit assassin apart from him picking a side which hates him, it puts me off not seeing jarl balgruuf on the throne (i dunno why, i like that guy now). But i dont know if its better than seeing that arrogant anusbag maven black briar boasting "the throne suits me, don't you think" when she's the jarl. Makes me want to pick pocket everything from her.

Forget your tumultuous past and live as a silent, wild hermit in the wild. What it depends upon is how much you love character over his decisions. If it's a character you still adore, by all means keep playing with him and try not to set foot into Dragonsreach too often.

Elves of anykind ( I'm Bosmer ) are treated really bad by , Stormcloaks . I went just 1 time to hear what the dialouge would be when joining up for civil war . Did'nt take ol Ulfric very long to throw down with the insult's . Empire only way to go for Elves and Kool Kats . ;)

Nope ... I would have ended up abandoning my character long before that could even happen xD

But if that did happen, probably not. I may not be too comfortable with it in the end, but I don't see any reason to completely stop playing a character simply because I chose the 'wrong' side in the civil war questline, especially if it's a character I like.

If you start again, don't choose a side :D Then Balgruuf remains Jarl, and Maven doesn't become Jarl.. It's a win win situation really

I wouldn't stop playing that character. My current character is a bosmer and I sided with the stormcloaks only because I hadn't do so before and wanted to try it. There are things I like and don't like, but I rarely go into the castles anyway so it really doesn't make too much difference to me who is on the throne.

The worst part is that Maven doesn't get exiled! And I don't think you should stop because of that. Think that, because of the Thalmor, both sides would hate you. It's not entirely true, but what can you do? You could have handed the Crown to Tullius as well.

I never gave any fuks over the civil war quests anyway but i always go with the stormcloaks when i get bored enough to mess with that just cuz i like jarl ulfric, dunno who started the whole "Its Cool to Hate Ulfric Stormcloak" fan club but whatever. I've only finished the whole thing like once tho, i don't enjoy those quests for some reason. As for deleting an entire character just cuz u wanted to choose the other side no, thats just silly. lol

Nah. Nobody in Skyrim really cares about anything except money. I still get called a wretched wench at the Drunken Hunstman but I still take his $750 every time I go in.

This is where back story and character RP comes in handy, your khajiit figured it was better for these events to occur but why? S/he could be all about trying to redeem themselves or figured the Nords would allow the Khajiit in the towns like civilized folk if they were assisted by your kind. We could also start a new Khajiit character who is either related or unrelated who figured this previous character had the best intentions but was a fool to believe in such, etc. It'll make starting over easier.

I'd start over, or at least make the story fit the decisions somehow. As for Maven being Jarl.......While noone likes her, she's a MUCH better Jarl than the current one..........

I personally like Maven. She's all business.

Exactly, I quite like the woman, I just want to correct her attitude a bit. Plus, she isn't a damned coward like the previous Jarl

I don't think you should start again just because of this. It seems like you're still learning the game (like most of us), so there's nothing wrong with making a decision that you may not have, had you known the implications. Keep playing and making 'mistakes', eventually you'll be able to play a character almost in advance by deciding which questlines and gear you want to aim for.

Like somebody stated before, I too have started new saves for far lesser reasons.

One of the things you might want to think about (it's what I've done countless of times) is starting a new save, but creating the same character again. But I guess it comes down to if you're able to come up with a good reason why your Khajiit would have made that choice and if they're able to live with the consequences or not. That, in my opinion, is one of the best things about role-playing games like Skyrim; make up the personality of your character and the way they make their decisions... and then ask yourself if there's something that would cause them to choose differently. Everyone has something they hold so dear that they'd be willing to "bend the rules" because of it. And sometimes people - even fictional people - simply make bad calls.

I like the idea that Benthos suggested, that maybe your Khajiit thought that he/she could help their people to get a better place in the Nord society by assisting the Stormcloaks (and maybe the Stormcloaks just because it seemed to him/her that they were going to win the war anyway). And as it turns out, he/she was mistaken.

The fan club got started when people realized he was a racist prig who doesn't actually care for his people, just his hunger for the seat of high king.
