Hi guys I've had Skyrim for some time now and never really got round to playing it in till just now!

Never would of thought there was an actual forum for the game but I guess there is, stumbled upon it after looking for tips on my character but I've gotten confused and hopefully here is a place I can receive help.

Anyways let's breakdown how I'm doing so far..

Character;

Name - Critical
Character - Khajiit
Build - Sneaky/Assassin (Trying to be)
Magika/Health/Stamina - 100/300/145 (Magika/Health shall remain, Stamina to increase)
Level - 27

Skills;

Sneak - 100
One Handed - 81
Archery - 60 (close to 61)
Light Armour - 52 (close to 53)
Smithing - 23 (close to 24)
Enchanting - 24
Alchemy - 20

Skyrim Perk Calculator - Plan the perks for your Skyrim character before spending them!

Something like this

Apparel;

105 Rating

Ancient Shrouded Cowl - 35% more bow damage
Ancient Shrouded Armour - 100% poison resistance
Ancient Shrouded Boots - Muffled and move silently
Ancient Shrouded Gloves - x2 sneak damage with One Handed Weps
Shrouded Cowl (Some reason let's me use both) - 20% Bow damage
Amulet Kynareth - 10% Stamina
Nightwear Band - 10% Sneaking

Weapon;

Dagger - 34 Damage
Bow - 83 Damage + what ever arrows.

Blade of Woe - Absorb 10 point of health
Reverent Elven Bow - Undead upto level 13 flee for 30 secs

Now the above stats are probably the only ones I need for a decent assassin type build right?

Also I know the bow pretty much sucks, but it'll do until I get the funds or smithing/enchanting to do better!
The dagger can also be replaced when I have the smithing/enchantment for Daedric!

Need help;

I hear that Nightengale armour is perfect for the Assassin type build well mainly the chest piece that is seeing as the rest doesn't really have any better affects over my Ancient Shrouded Gear, so am I correct to believe that if I replace my current Ancient Shrouded Chest Piece with the Nightengale one then I'll pretty much the best armour you can get (Before Dragon)..
Also I hear the armour is leveld so I'm best waiting till around 35 before going ahead and doing the Thieve Guild quest line...

Anyways there's abit to read much appreciated if you do, bare in mind this is my first ever character so I may have messed up some how but please do leave your comments/advice or anything to help build any of my skills!

That's a pretty good build for a first character ever - I know mine was all over the place and I had to restart multiple times before I figured out how the game worked. You seem to be doing just fine - not too many combat skills to muddy the waters and some fun dabbling in crafting. =)

The bow does not suck, my friend! Just get used to it and pick some cool perks in archery and you're sorted. Especially the one that slows time by 50%. Skyrim's version of the sniper rifle. Can really take your time lining up that perfect shot. Until your stamina bar drains from holding your breath too long. But you won't take too long, once you get comfortable with it. The bow does not suck! <3:D

Glass, and Dragonscale light armor are both better than the 32+ leveled Nightengale armor. Furthermore, the Nightengale Armor is not affected by a smithing perk, meaning you can improve it, but not by twice as much, like if you have Elven smithing perk, the Elven chest piece will have more armor rating than the Nightengale chest piece if you improve them both. Since you are going up the right side, you won't have the smithing perks until Dragonscale. If you are stingy on perks you can go up the left side of smithing to glass, because even Elven armor can hit the 567 armor cap, and glass vs daedric weapons when fully smithed and armor enchanted with +fortify onehanded only has about 30 point difference. Like daedric sword 334 damage, vs glass sword 309 damage. Not that big. Just saying, but really play however you want. It's your first time so probably don't listen to me, and just have fun with it!

What are you using in your off hand? If you're dual-wielding, you'll find the savage fury and dual savagery perks to be the best thing since the invention of the parking lot. The extra speed + dual power attacks with buffed damage = dead dragon before it can even draw breath to shout at you.

bows? dont you just want to run in and smash foes with your bare hands?

No no no, it is much more fun to sit back and whittle away at the enemy without them knowing you are there until they feel the cold steel broadhead sinking into their skulls

As I mentioned I'm using the Blade Of Woe (DB Quest Line) I'm not a fan of Keller based attacks as it is so I'm not bothering with duel wielding and spending the points where it's not needed

Yes bows, I'm an 'Assassin' just like a real life Assassin if they can they pick there targets of at a distance, close combat is only used in desperate times, but I manage to pick my targets off before they get close!

So . . . nothing in your off hand? I don't really understand your answer. What's a Keller based attack?

Sorry 'Keller' was meant to say Melle auto correct corrected it for some reason!

I use the Blade Of Woe but I hardly ever have to go in close combat as I can pretty much kill anything before it reaches me using sneak+bow attacks.

Aha, that's clear now. Weird auto-correct! I thought there was some new tactic I was missing out on :)
