Hey guys!
I've had Skyrim for aaaaaages! But it's the first elder scrolls game I've gotten. Since playing Skyrim, I've realised I would love to play Oblivion, so yeah, I'll probably get into that soon as well.
Can't wait to get involved with the forum more. (;

I'm downloading Oblivion now, i've played it on Xbox 360 and it is a whole lotta fun though its a tiny pit more primitive engine wise then Skyrim. Still I love it,like Skyrim you can go where you want and do what you want though you do have to deal with infamy, in that if you commit a crime in say Anvil the Imperial City Guards will bust your chops for it unless you get a mod installed. I say give it a go. I always loved Oblivion and Morrowind.

Good question, i enjoyed Oblivion on xbox a lot, but I hear that the mods give you so much more stuff to do. Plus it is easier to fix any bugs the game has on PC then on Xbox where you are kinda stuck with them unless you find out about a work around from the USEP Wiki or from here.

That is very true. Hmm.. Yeah, I have Skyrim on PS3, but I think I might buy both of them on PC.

Thata boy, save yourself some grief, I have Oblivion on Xbox, runs like a minx, also I gotta say with my crap vsita computer even if I can't play oblivion pC I know at least i can run it to type in some quest fixs and this an that..

I had so much more fun with Oblivion the first time around than I did with Skyrim the first time. However, that was the first Elder Scroll I ever played so that might be the reason. You may be disappointed with how different it is from Skyrim graphic-wise and gameplay-wise.

It plays a lot different in-regards to skills/attributes. I wouldn't say its worse but rather that it is different and more complex. I would liken Skyrim to be the more casual version of Oblivion in that way. It is much easier to ruin your character in Oblivion than it is Skyrim so beware with how you play.

There is literally a metric ton of mods for Oblivion, vast loads more than Skyrim, that add SO MUCH to the game and that is not even including the official DLC's. Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine were two of the best expansions for a game you could get at the time, I strongly recommend checking out those, adds MASSIVE amount of content to the original game.

I would also strongly recommend at least playing Oblivion if you haven't already especially if you love Skyrim. Don't get your hopes up though thinking that it will be better, because it isn't and it won't. Get them both on PC because there is just way too many PC-exclusive benefits to not take advantage of (mods, console, customization, KB+M)

ive got all 3 Elder Scroll games on PC, i still have my marrowind copy for xbox original, i sold my oblivion and skyrim copy of the xbox 360 for the PC version and never looked back, if you want to get marrowind its alittle glitch with window 7 i dont know about the othere, just a minor glitch but i still love it. plus if your running all you game in HD then your gonna realize they all look 100x more amazing then they did on xbox/Ps3 and i feel they run much smoother too never got any mods for oblivion though but i got alot of mods for skyrim

Sorry for the late reply SuperJordy3, I spent all day yesterday tweaking the controls. One thing I don't like about oblivion on the PC is having to use the keyboard, I'm now saving up for a gamer pad for my PC. Using a gamer pad on oblivion is tricky as oblivion wasn't designed for a gamer pad such as you would use on xbox. Still I love all the mods, and Oblivion runs pretty smooth for the the most part, I'm so, so on the steam version, my advice is get oblivion sans steam, they don't even have any mods for it, you have to go through Nexus.
