No, your character can be a Master Enchanter and Smither if you want. Just make sure he doesn't magically create a Deadric Greatsword in the woods.

By Godding people mean:

Arillious was surrounded. There were 7 seven Thalmor closing in on him. He smiled, he had nothing to worry.

His sword caught fire, and he stabbed it into the ground. An Explosion erupted and all the Thalmor lay dead before he knew it. Not a scratch on him, Arillious continued on his merry way.
