The Elder Scrolls VI: ... (My Ideas for the game)

That would mean going back to the start of the fourth era.
EDIT: 4E 171 was when the actual war started.
I meant after Skyrim took place. Like ummm, I dunno 5-10 years after the War of Skyrim. When the Empire was reunited as a whole.

Personally I could do with a break from the great war. At some point it would be cool to come back to it and I'm sure it will make for a great game but for the next TES game I would quite like to experience some of the great events in TES history. We read a lot about what has gone on before and while we know the outcome of many events I think it would be good to participate in TES history and fill in some of the holes.

There are plenty of gaps in TES history which little by little Beth has been developing. For the next game I would quite like to go back to the last days of the dwemer. We have really only seen the ruins of the dwemer so far and not really gotten to appreciate them in their heyday. Knowing that the Dwemer are cursed to disappear would add a poignancy to proceedings as we get to see a prosperous and civilised race collapse in on themselves.

Parallel to the demise of the Dwemer we could also experience various other events encompassed in the War of the Crag and the War of the First Council. The Dwemer would be holed up in their advanced cities warring with each other and preparing to fight those who live on the land above. The Nords meanwhile would be establishing their Empire and the Chimer (spoiler later the Dunmer) would be in the process of breaking away from the Aldmer. The Snow Elves still exist but are restricted to hidden temples and underground cities in the shadow of the Dwemer while rogue Dwemer are experimenting on and enslaving them. The last days of the Dwemer brought turmoil to all the races and various peoples of Tamriel.

Through careful scriptng our hero (the main character) would be able to shape events and be party to the machinations of all the main antagonists. Just because we know the result doesn't mean there couldn't be any surprises along the way. Who knows what really happened to the dwemer after all. Perhaps your actions could determine whether they simply moved to a different plane of existence or simply wiped themselves out in their pursuit of power.

While i would like to see what happens next in Skyrim and Tamriel in the great war, what I would really like to do is go back and experience the events detailed in all those books that litter TES V. Because the Dwemer were so advanced it would be like moving both back and forward in time at once.

TESO takes place around this time.

I think TESO is set around 2E 583 although I can't remember where I read it (numbers have a habit of sticking in my head). The time I'm thinking of is around 1E 700 (Battle of Red Mountain). I'm no expert on TES lore, I just looked up the dates for some of the events heavily referenced in Skyrim and Dawnguard. I imagine Bethesda has already plotted the next several TES games given how long they must take to develop. Really, I'm just looking for spoilers in what they seem to focus a lot of the lore from the latest game on.

I reckon there's a good chance the great war will be tackled in a DLC or a spin off title (kind of like what they did with New Vegas). If they aim to release a great war title this generation of consoles (probably a must if they are going to cash in on fan interest) then they will probably have to restrict a great war game to one region like the Summerset Isles or Hammerfell. The hardware for this Gen probably couldn't handle all of Tamriel. Its a shame for PC players with the latest gear but from a business perspective games are always going to be developed with the largest audience in mind even if they have long outdated hardware.

I'm probably completely wrong on all of this, just thought I'd add to the speculation. I'll probably give TESO a pass just because I'm more of a single player campaigner. TES VI is bound to be epic given the success Bethesda has enjoyed and a decade odd leap in hardware. Can't wait...

your probably correct, But I definitely wouldn't mind if the dev team just so happened to stumble across this page and take my ideas into mind, Which, to be honest, probably wont happen, But i'd be nice eh?

I'd be surprised if Bethesda didn't have a couple of interns trawling the forums for ideas. It seems to be part of their business model to develop (fan made) user generated content and insert it into the game. A lot of Dragonborn seems to have started off as mods made by the community rather than by paid employees. Some might suggest that they are ripping people off but I don't think anyone minds as long as Bethesda delivers what fans want. I bet most people on forums like this would love to contribute something to such a classy series.

I like your section on creatures to add into the game. I haven't seen a thread on what creatures they should insert into the franchise before. Ancient Roman/Greek and Norse mythology are great places to start. That said, if I were to choose any animal/s to put into a game it would probably be packs of rabid screaming monkees. There simply isn't enough forest in Skyrim and I like the idea of being chased through dense woods with death from above coming via the treetops ... plus my archer could get some xp by sniping them off the branches.

OohOohAh OohOohAh ptang ... wait for it ... thump.

I may have to add this.

I think it should take place 10-20 years after the Skyrim urising (it remains part of the empire(For the empire!!) . It can take place in the Altmeri Dominion (the summerset Isles, Valenwood and Esleweyr) and the great war starts up again.

If game history is any indication, we won't be having much to do with Skyrim in the next installment. Been there, done that. It will also likely continue to be chronological, so it will be after the events of TES V. My bet is that TES VI will be set in Summerset Isle with an outside chance of Blackmarsh being the featured province.

Personally, I think since it'll take about 4-5 years for the next one, the next gen consoles will be advanced enough to have the whole of Tamriel in the game.

It is an absolute certainty that we won't hear so much as a rumor about TES VI until after Fallout 4 is released, and that won't before 4th quarter 2014. However, I also think that the last thing Bethesda should do is make a game attempting the full scope of the continent. Been there, done that.

If they could actually get the whole continent to have the geography and landscapes of Skyrim it would probably look pretty nice... Imagine, Your in a vast dry desert one day, the next day your trotting around in thick, lush swamps. So many possibilities.:Dragonborn:

Yeah, but imagine how thin that world would be. The reason that games like Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were so compelling is the unique nature of the landscape. The only way that you can do something on that scale and not to have it colapse under it's own weight is to either reduce the density of things to see and do, or to recycle them as to make them generic. To me, that's not Elder Scrolls.

I've never really taken that into thought, But maybe next gen systems will have the output required to handle the whole world, then again maybe not.

They can probably recycle a lot of the material they have put into TESO. Investing in plotting the entire continent will eventually pay off. I'm not too keen on the character models for TESO but the landscape looks decent enough. There is a natural progression to these games - just look at Grand Theft Auto and how far that's come. Also in case you have't seen it, there is a tech demo from Bethesda (at least I think its from them, I could only find an italian? version of a video I watched ages ago). It looks pretty great and will probably be the foundation for the next iteration.

I'd be very surprised if TES VI didn't cover the entire continent. The real difficulty comes in filling the landscape with things to do. Nobody really likes radiant quests. They could probably leave them out entirely and I'd be perfectly happy. I like exploring vast landscapes and having to work to find interesting things.
