New 1.9 patch for console review/testing

I'm glad that oghma infinium book shelf glitch is fixed, not going to lie I used it once and it did make the game boring once I was able to kill anything with a breeze, even on Master difficulty it was too easy. Cool that they added legendary now, and that perk prestige too! To bad I deleted all my saves.

I done the waking nightmare Daedric quest and it allows you to save now instead of freezing, so Bethesda came threw on that one.

Wow I am glad that is fixed, I only do that quest cause I hate hearing everyone complain about not sleeping. That bug has been around for a while too, took them long enough.

I don't really use any magic and having extra perks just means i can put them into skills i still probably won't use. All you get from grinding up a level again is extra health/magicka/stamina.

I took out the one handed perks for "extra perks" but now i'm just putting them back into one handed again. Eventually you'll have all the skills at 100 again, all the perks in the "tree" and better h/m/s stats.

As Dragonborn allowed you to reset your perk points, you can swap character classes in one go.

The legendary status just allows you to be an ultimate master of all trades. I feel a little underwhelmed by it to be honest.

I agree the only benifits to me is being able to switch character class without starting a new build, and plus putting my stamina up to carry more and being able to put some into magic im level 83 now and my build still only has 100 magic lol

ShadowKing : thanks for your answer. So, you reset for example smithing in which I do have 100 and it is going back to 15. Then you have to increase it again back to 100 to have a legendary level ? So you are ending up with the same amount of perks right ? Now what is the point on that ?
You also mentioned that for example if you reset smithing, you get back 85 perks that you can invest in another skill tree right ? On this last thing, I do see something useful but on the first paragraph, being at level 15 in smithing will not allow you to craft anything other than steel, so if you have already a dragon dagger that you want to improve, you won’t be able till you go back to 100, is that the case ?
Also, if you reset for example Smithing that was at 100 before, you get 85 perks right ? So, how about if you want to use those perks right away on smithing ? Are you not ending up with the same amount and level ? I am confused, can you explain please ? Thanks ! :)

Im quoting my own post and this is for Rainbow, Im not sure if u meant to give me a ranter rating on that post because I cant see the rant anywhere? I hate having a huge inventory is a rant?

Looks like someone misunderstood what ranter means..

When that's said: I'm happy you've made a thread like this. I am downloading the patch now and will share if I come across something.

Hey bro, no if u make a skill legendary like I did with smithing and raise it from 15 to 100 again u go from level 81 to level 83 and because u increase 2 levels u get 2 perk points to use on skill trees. and get to increase either stamina, magic, health just the same as how u level before :).

I meant if u reset smithing u go from 100 smithing to 15 smithing meaning u have to increase smithing 85 times to max it out again and make dragon items once again, but u get to increase ure builds level and get the extra perks involved with leveling.

Yea if u choose to make smithing legendary u cant improve dragon items untill ure smithing is back at 100 :( so ure best improving weapons/armor beforehand. (hope this helps ya bro)

yea I think they did lol, thats great hope u can feed this thread some info if u come across anything.

What I don't understand is lowering the $ amount at Riverwood. He was the go-to for selling any loot. But now we have to fast travel from place to place in order to sell loot we don't want to keep? I've a lot of good item's that make my weapon's rack's look good. But if we have to go from merchant to merchant instead of "one-stop" shopping/selling, I'll just loot coin from now on, and keep only weapons/shields that have properties to them to make them unique.

And I'm not going to like having my Mage's relearn or respec. I, as many of you have invested huge amounts of time in playing this game, and I'm not sure I going to like to have to "grind". I did a lot of that in WoW, and it was kind of a pita.

The funny thing is that I haven't come a cross that many bugs.. Especially the once I see posted here. And I have been playing in every corner of Skyrim. Perhaps I just haven't noticed them, or done that particular quest with a bug. I play on Xbox. One bug that comes to mind is that lately some dragons are behaving a bit strange. They seem to "freeze" in a position and just float around. It looks very strange. And then another dragon who acts normal comes along. So there are two, and sometimes up to three dragons in the same area. I am also prevented from killing them. This especially happens around the Karthspire-area while doing the Sky-Haven temple quest. I have also experienced problems with falling below ground at the entrance part of Whiterun. And then I cant get to ground-level again. I am just stuck there, so I have to go back to a previous save. I hope these problems get fixed.

JClarke1953 : yes, it is a real pain in my butt as well not to be able to stop at Riverwood shopping center to sale all of my stuff. It is annoying. This is funny because a lot of people were complaining about those cheaters that used the Oghma Infinium book to level up; I am one of them, but they wanted to keep the Riverwood merchant, after the patch, still with a lot of money in his pocket to buy your stuff.
For the Oghma Infinium book, I found the way around. I created 4 files that I can go back anytime I want regardless if this book is not letting me cheat ever again, so I don’t really care and regardless the Riverwood trader, I have to live with that fact, that from now on, I have to travel to 3 - 5 merchants to sale my stuff. I guess I don’t give a damn anymore if the Riverwood trader is killed by a vampire. He is not longer rich enough so I don’t have to “protect” him from being blood-suceked by a freaking vampire. This is going to make our life a bit complicated, especially if we are still playing Dawnguard and Harkon is still alive. Vampires will be waiting for us in every single town. I guess the way around it is to sneak and kill from a distance with the bow.
Also, I going to get married as soon as possible. My wife will be another trader for me to sale my stuff and beside, I will get 100 every day. HHahahaahahahah .... who will be the victim ? Still looking but I will find her .... lol .... :)

I don't understand this one either. It benefits the player and makes the game better. It's not even a cheat. The guy just has more money than the other merchants. What's wrong with that?. It helps me to make more money but it's not an online game, it's not real money. Who cares?

I've had Dragon's do the "slo-mo" flying quite a bit, over various places in Skyrim and Sol. I just consider that a taunt to us of their power, but whatever, lol! The ground-level problem you mention I've not had happen, yet. I don't know why you can't kill them, as I've run into a "triple-threat" more than a few times. And I've been able to nail them, although a bit difficult, yet fun.

The Riverwood trader patch is bethesdas biggest sin in this update so far, Its going to be a grind just selling stuff for one reason im on xbox I would have to go in and out of 5-6 shops to sell 10000 gold worth of stuff, now thats 10 more loading screens than what was needed. im sure all xbox and ps3 players will be pissed and even the guys who are not playing on a super fast p.c wont be to happy, plus how do we sell say a deadric warhammer that has been enchanted/improved we cant sell it outright anymore we will have to buy from the merchant to get his gold up, on the plus side it will stop me from getting half a million septims and making money really really boring it will just be boring now lol. Im also going to stop selling I will just take mostly rings and amulets and robes that are worth alot and trade it for Alchemy and Smithing items.

Im defo not making any magic skills legendary they are really hard to improve except the school that teaches the muffle spell, I think the ones I have in mind are, Smithing (done allready to test it out) enchanting and alchemy, or possibly grind sneak at high hrothgar lol, but to be honest im not up for grinding

Yeh, it's not "real" money, but it is nice to collect, although there's not much that can be done with it. My 3-char's all have well over $500k each, so acquiring coin isn't my main thing too much. And they pretty much live in Severin Mansion anymore, only making trips to Skyrim to sell to the Riverwood Trader. One char has yet to kill Alduin, and the War is over with for all 3, so far (Stormcloak camp outside of Whiterun?).

I don't know, it seems Bethesda is out to make it more confusing?

thats weird 3 dragons being in the one place that often, I had a glitch where I enter Markarth and I can go under the ground :S

The dragons are like frozen. They don't attack, they don't do shouts. They just float around. Never lands. And when I attack them nothing happens... =(
