Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Empire will send its best :D
LOL
If he did that empire will be in disaray, God knows what some Legion comander will get in his head, what some corupt politicians will do etc.. The empire would fall if he did that... it would be thrown in dissaray and mayhem.

THE SEA OF GHOSTS - that should say something :)

"We're ready to march on Solitude, but the Emperor's cousin is getting married! If royal blood was spilt, all of Cyrodiil would be up in arms. We can't afford an all out war with the Empire. So we'll bide our time for now."

That should say something, Apparently I know Ulfric's quotes better then you. The Legion loves the Emperor and they don't need an invitation to attack Skyrim if the Emperor/cousin dies.

"You mean after all that's transpired, the Dark Brotherhood will still...honor the contract? Why, this is astounding news! Wonderful news! The Emperor is still in Skyrim, but not for long. He's aboard his ship, the Katariah, moored offshore in the Solitude Inlet. But you must hurry! If you can get aboard that ship. Kill Titus Mede II, as contracted...I will reveal the location of the dead drop that holds your payment."

"I know! I know! I received the news not moments ago! Ha ha. This is glorious! My friend, you may not realise it, but you have served the Empire, indeed all of Tamriel, in ways you can not possibly imagine. Ah, but you care little for politics, am I right? You want money! And money you shall have! Your payment waits for you at a dead drop. It is inside an urn, in the very chamber we first met, in Volunruud. Now please, go. Collect your money, and let us never look upon one another again. Our business, thank the gods, is concluded."

Actually there are plenty of people wanting emperor dead and ready to use that.

Stormcloaks, because you don't see them walking around Skyrim with prisoners bound by the hands. Ulfrick himself may have terrible ideals, but the overall agenda of a Stormcloak is to bring peace and to restore the Nords way of life. I'm a strong believer in going at your own pace. I don't see how the imperials have the right to push them to progress and force their beliefs on anyone

Not just to progress, but to forsake gods.
Even today that would create a public outcry.

apparently one man and his guard counts as plenty . Amaund motierre was one of the corruption people in the empire. Don't go ranting about corruption now. Drunkenmage had already stated it before

Dude, every body believes in talos. The stormcloaks are the only ones crying about it. Balgruuf worships secretly as nelkir said. The stormies are just crying over icecream they already got

It's easy to argue both sides of the war. They both have their pros and cons. I don't like when one race or nation can say, "Hey we are taking over to help you reform or null you from worshiping a God". Who gave the imperials the right. There like your typical bully. They never actually pick you up, but love to put you down. It's not all their fault I blame the Thalmor as well. The Stormcloaks, well they seem to think one-uping someone is the greatest thing sense sliced bread(in their case it might be). They have to much pride to the point of ignorance, but can you blame them.

I'm not sure if you know this but Skyrim is A FLUFFING PART OF THE EMPIRE! They are not taking over at all. The Legion would never be in Skyrim if it weren't for Ulfric and his Stormies!
Besides, if we weren't wasting resources on the rebellion, we would have enough for an inevitable, Second Great War, which the Legion would definitely win.

If a man is paying someone to kill an emperor, he isnt alone in doing that. He has plans, and he is prepared. He probably has backing from some legion comanders, some politicians as well. Not to mention that some other comanders will also use the oportunity to try to advance and even proclaim themselves the emperor.
You are quite the optimist if you believe that it is only Amaund alone who wants emperor dead and is ready for that

The legion wouldnt be in Skyrim, just like they left skyrim to bandits and to fend for itself when cyrodil was threatened. The Skyrim founded the first empire, was part of the second one. This is just the third empire man.
They had 20 years before this in Skyrim, they could have prepared for war with thalmor, now they cant beat Stormcloaks. Or arent interested, which says something.

And that's quite an assumption. For all we know Motierre is working for the Thalmor

The Legion/Empire has always been in Skyrim!

The Legion/Empire has always been in Skyrim!

And his working for Thalmor means what? That is better :D?

And empire was in Skyrim since they captured it. Skyrim was in Ysgramors empire as well. And the second one.

Not better, I was going for a non-Imperial conspiracy

You do realize those are different Empires, yes?

It is a conspiracy of the politicians seeking to take power, throwing the empire and cyrodil into civil war most probably. With some legion backing, and there would be legions loyal to legal heir as well as some comanders who want to be emperor themselves.

As for what is that. There were 3 empires.
First empire of Ysgramor and his heirs - the nordic atmoran empire.
The second empire
And 3rd empire, the curent one.

3 different Empires, the 3rd the one you're referring to, the Septim Empire started in Skyrim therefore the Empire has always been in Skyrim because the Empire is Skyrim!

BTW the Nordic Empire was not one of the 3 they were:
Alessian- 1st
Reman- 2nd
and Septim-3rd
(if I''m not mistaken)
