Do you hate dwarven ruins?

Falmer and Chaurus are the worst.
But the ability to spelunk and come out with 100+ ingots ready to be turned into arrows for smithing experience and selling is nice.
Other than Dragonbone Arrows, Dwarven are the easiest to just churn out.

The quests you have to do in them are very long, and I dislike Blackreach. A LOT. It's so dark in there and I am sick of scouring the whole place for nirnroot. I am yet to finish that quest in both my games. UGH!
Meanwhile... since I upped my difficulty level, I can't turn a corner in a Nord ruin without running into two or three deathlords! I mean... give me a break! LOL!

You ain't no adventurer! Get yo knee over here so I can arrow it! :P

I just hate the Falmer, which of course populate many of the Dwemer ruins. They can take a lot of punishment and dish a ton out. They also seem to travel in pairs at times.

I am now, officially, in love with Blackreach. I have an entrance near my home, I can always get soul gems and various ores and I never run out of Chaurus Chitin or Falmer ears! Ah... bliss. Only wish I could harvest the giant glowing fungus'. I'd love to see what they do to my alchemy, but I realize I can't have everything. :)

Oh my lord I love Dwemer ruins. They're just so creepy and mysterious and I love getting lost in them. I was in one recently, and have a helmet of water breathing, so I decided to plunk into the depths and to my utter glee found a whole set of underground rooms with treasure and stuff. It was awesome. Now, the Centurions I could do without, but ... they need love too.

Blackreach is incredible ... I've only entered it a few times but it is my favourite place in Skyrim. I feel sorry for the Falmer though ... the whole dwemer/falmer story is so sad. *sniff*

Which ruin has the underwater stuff? That I've never tried and I simply must!

Agree on the sadness of the dwemer/falmer story. I would so like to know the falmer. They just seems like such interestin' folk! Besides, a pet Chaurus could definately come in handy as would a pet frostbite spider! Creepy, but cool!

I'm not really a big fan of them. Hate is probably too strong a word, but I get tired of locked gates, and other locked gates that only open from the "other" side and still more locked gates that make me have to reverse path through a few locked gates and avoid the swinging blades trap of the moment just so I can repetitively bash out the dental work of another rolling robot to get a few valuables until finally I've bashed all the rolling robots but I still check them because from the wrong side of a locked gate the bashed rolling robots look quite a bit like the unbashed rolling robots except they don't roll and are already empty.

Dwemer ruins are, just okay. I don't have any real bias against them though.

I love the steampunk-esque atmosphere of Dwemer ruins, and they're also more of a challenge compared to other locations in the game, which really adds to the fun for me. Blackreach makes me a little crazy because of my terrible eyesight (any dark place in the game is hard for me to navigate), but it's beautiful. Any place with giant mushrooms is a beautiful place, right?

I've never gone into the ruins alone, though. I usually take Onmund along when I've got a choice of follower, he seems to hold up better than most. (But he's my favorite NPC, so I drag him pretty much everywhere with me ) Or Mjoll, since as far as I can tell she's indestructible.

Isn't it awfully hard to sneak with a follower? I'm a sneaker as well as a warrior and I find that followers just get in the way. Steampunk absolutely! The giant mushrooms were cool! Plus now I have thugs coming after me all the time sent by the Falmer Servants - it makes it so easy to fill my black soul gems. :)

True. That's one of the many things I love about having Onmund along though - if I'm sneaking, he almost always sneaks with me. Almost always. Once or twice he's gone all "Skyrim belongs to the Nords!" on me while I'm trying to tip-toe past the enemy, but not too often. Mjoll, not so much...she's more of an invincible Lydia :p

I personally like dwarven ruins. It's so beautiful in a hard-to-describe way. Lots of loot, too. Only problem is getting lost. I have spent hours and days in real time going in circles and trying to find my way out.

I took a Dark Brotherhood initiate with me on a dwemer quest and she was good at the sneaking part. Not so good on the fighting, she was pretty useless and I had to keep stepping in to help. Also, she kept getting WAY to close to me which was annoying when I was trying to line up a shot with my bow and she bumps into me, and perilous whenever I wanted to peer over a cliff or something... she nearly knocked me off a few times.
