Huntress of the Shadows
This is only for the role play aspect, guys! I know alcohol and Skooma don't have any drug-like effects (Which is why I <3 Sleeping Tree Sap!!!), but just pretend your character an addict here, for a minute.

Which would your character choose for his addiction? Alcohol, or skooma? OR BOTH?

A lot of my characters haha, My warrior type characters are almost always Alcoholics haha, and my other characters are usually addicted to skooma or Sleeping tree sap or something lol, ads a new aspect to enjoy while playing.

I am already addicted to Scotch ... Johnny Walker Black Label, Chivas Regal or JB ... if it is not scotch, then Crown Royal ...... lol ...

If I were to go that route, probably alcohol since it's easier to get and I collect it anyway. I actually had an encounter the other day where I needed health quickly and all my character had available was some Sleeping Tree Sap.

And then I was like, oh wow man. This is totally far out! That dude is totally trying to kill me! Major bummer, man.

my characters usualy have a fatal flaw, so i usualy make them junkies, so both booze and skooma, though i wish they could of done what they did in fall out series where you can become addicted in game to booze and other drugs, they should of done it for skyrim would of made the game a lil more interesting

Very interesting because I have not seen anybody in Skyrim smoking at all or chewing cocaine ... can you imagine if we had a plant of cocaine in Skyrim that when you chew it, it will boost up your stamina and make you so fast that you could enter any town and start decapitating every single citizen and shout co-cai-nee .... rahhh and slice and dice .. lol ...

in fallout if you drink a certian ammount of alcohol in a time frame you become dependant where instead of one bottle healing you for 10 points it take 2 bottle to get 10 points of healing that kind of idea lol. they still could do this with a simple update, i think it would be nice, considering in the middle ages alcohol was safer to drink than water due to the polution from sewage and diseases and skyrim is basicly set in the middle ages.

I completely agree to this mate but you know what, I have not seen anybody talking in this forum about why smoke is not present in Skyrim at all ? Back in that era, they smoked and drink ... we have not problem with drinks in Skyrim but smoke is not available at all ? If we had pot in Skyrim, my Heartfire houses will have a garden room all of them full of pot. I wonder, how much will cost and what kind of effect will have in Alchemy ? I guess not one will use it for alchemy but for relaxing and sickness because I guess if you eat it, it will make you hallucinating demons or stuff and you could kill even yourself believing that you are the freaking hubba-the-hut Mora or a woman .... lol ....

... it will be nice to sit down in the exterior of the Alchemy tower with a scotch and a cigarette watching the landscape while snowing and when a dragon approach to fire our butt, we could believe it is a little hummingbird ... lol ... :bluedragon:

i never noticed the lack of smoking in skyrim, now I don't picture bong and blunts but pipes should be there I mean even in the lord of the rings movie gandalf was token shet left and right lol, but seriously I think having some old man just sitting in the corner smoking a pipe would of been really good for the game, not to mention at the college you could have the arch mage perhaps blowing smoke dragons in his free time...and the alchemy lab remind me of a "M" lab lol

Yeah, I am very thrilled to find out what others think about this because even in the game Metal Gear Solid ( 4 ), Snake smokes to calm and relax himself. I wonder why in Skyrim we did not have that option as well ? ;)

No.
While I have no problem having my characters kill people (which I'd never do IRL), excessive use of intoxicating substances is a no-no simply because I never, ever use them myself, in any amounts.

I suppose it's because playing Skyrim without ever killing anyone would be extremely difficult, since it's such a "natural" part of the game. But there's no need to use alcohol/skooma, so I don't.

I'd never done any roleplaying whatsoever before Skyrim, and even now I'm not that much into it. So that's part of the reason.

lol i wish they had certin races, builds, or what not you could choose "rather than imagine" where drinking not only had a drunken effect but enhanced your strength, endurance, ect for a short time.. like Logan on the dead island games, i always pick him on those games cause he can gain increased strength and even heal himself by drinking alchahol, and the swaying screen gives a perfect indication that he's drunk which is hilarious.. skyrim should have had a concept like this, atleast for certin character types. :p

The good think is that everybody gets drunk in Skyrim and we do not have to blow the tube to measure the alcohol level in our blood ... lol ... :)

addiction in skyrim should have been there, i mean the dev team has the engine for it considering both fall out games have it and skyrim is just a fall out game set in middle ages.

That's the thing though, Bethesda didn't MAKE Fallout. They just published it. So it makes sense that certain features in Fallout would not exist in Skyrim because it's two separate teams.

Didn't they make Fallout 3? I though Bethesda made 3 and Obsidian make NV?

im pretty sure beth made fall out 3 but i could be mistaken and as far as NV im not sure i just assumed so that was wrong on my part
