I was doing another playthrough and knocked out like half the Daedric artifact quests back to back, and man, the tonal whiplash is real. Like you go from The Mind of Madness which is genuinely unsettling and trippy, to A Daedra's Best Friend where you're just... adopting a dog? And then The House of Horrors has you getting beaten up by a priest for like five minutes straight which is both hilarious and disturbing depending on your mood.
What gets me is that some of them feel like actual moral crossroads (Boethiah's Calling, Ill Met by Moonlight) and others are basically just fetch quests with a Daedric paint job. The Black Star vs Azura's Star is probably the best one because it actually makes you think about what you're doing, but then you turn around and do Waking Nightmare which is just... fine? It's fine.
Does anyone else feel like the Daedric questline quality drops off hard after you've done the first few? Or am I just overthinking it because I've done these so many times now that the novelty's worn off.
